We opted for the drive-thru as we were still in our swimsuits but saw that the grounds were kept up and the parking lot was clean with lots of parking. The drive thru menu was clear with lots of food choices...chicken choices. The selections were very similar to other chicken restaurants, offering chicken tenders, chicken tender sandwiches, and salads. The person taking our order was friendly as we all just offered kids meals. There was minimum wait time before we were on our way with our meals. The chicken tenders were ok. We all tried each other's dipping sauce. The highlight I'd hand to say were the fries. They had just the right amount of salt and served hot and crispy. read more

We had a group of four, and we ordered a Tailgate Pack to-go for dinner. In it we got the fried tenders, mac & cheese, lemon pepper dry rub wings, tons of sauces, and Texas toast. The pick up was super easy, and the inside of the restaurant actually looked like a nice place to eat. The chicken (both the tenders and the wings) were pretty good. The wings were the better of the two chickens. The Mac and cheese was pretty mid; it tasted like boxed store bought stuff. And then unfortunately they forgot our toast, so we didn't even get to try that. As for the sauces, some were good, some weren't great. But of course, when trying a whole smattering of them, that's to be expected; each of us liked/disliked different ones. Overall not sure I'd recommend; maybe if you're really craving fried chicken and you're there, but it's not worth going to get it yourself and bring home. read more

I was at the Sarasota store #7602 on 12/20/2025 at 5:37 PM. The restaurant parking lot only had one vehicle and my first thought was the place was slow and was I going to be able to get hot food instead of what had been sitting around for a while. My wife and I went in and placed out order and I told the cashier to make sure the chicken and fries were fresh and hot. While immediately filling my drinks cups, our food was delivered to our table. I took a bite of the chicken and it was borderline cold, maybe room temperature at best. I tried the fries and they were about the same, again room temperature.. I took both orders back to the counter and reminded the cashier that I wanted hot food. Within 5-6 minutes our food was brought back to us and this time the chicken was warmer and the fries were still room temperature. I ate a couple pieces of chicken and it was like eating rubber. The same chicken had been put back in the fryer and had been over cooked. I went back to the counter and ask one of the assistant managers about my food being over cooked and still cold french fries. He told me was in charge of the drive-thru window and agreed what I had described wasn't right but he wasn't responsible for that and the other manager was. The other manager never did come to the counter to resolve the issue. I told the manager that I did talk to that since no one wanted to do what was right I would call the corporate office and tell them about my experience. I went to the corporate website and left a review telling them the same thing I have said here, leaving my phone number and email address. It's been over a week now and I still haven't from anyone at corporate. I use to live in the northwest Arkansas area and went to their restaurants in their area. The food and service in that area was good. That doesn't seem the case anymore. Maybe it's the franchises that are ruining their reputation. I know I don't have the desire to go back to any Slim Chickens anymore. read more

We liked it We finally tried the new Slim Chickens last night. It's a large clean place inside with a few more tables outside. We checked out the overhead menu, asked the order taker about popular items, and ended up ordering sandwiches, mine their Cayenne Chicken Sandwich. You order and pay, they give you a number tent, and bring your food to your table. Our food was delivered even before we finished filling our drinks at the fountain machine. My spicy sandwich wasn't spicy at all, but the chicken was moist and good. There were more fries than I expected for my meal. My wife lamented everything offered was deep fried, there were no grilled items. Checking out their website today I learned they do offer grilled items, at least for chicken tenders, their catch phrase is "just say grilled". Now we know. Maybe make that obvious on the menu. I kind of missed paying attention to their 17 sauces thing advertised on their door handles. Yes, the website lists 17 sauces, including one called Gravy. Gravy for the fries and spicy sauces for the chicken? I like that plan. It says on the wall "cooked to order". Our food came out so fast I don't think that would have been possible, maybe assembled to order. The wall also said 'Delta Blues", and I realized I was listing to blues music, nice. There's a new player in the chicken tender and sando game! Slim. Big Slim as I call him. I was hoping for the best and a little nervous trying this new spot. But the parking lot, decor, service, and most importantly the food was on POINT. I knew I was in for a treat as soon as I tried the sweet tea. YESSIR!!! Real deal. Unsweet is good too. And both lemonades were delish. It is not easy to find good sweet tea and lemonade. Let ke tell you!!! My meal came out fast and was PIPING and I mean piping hot. The Texas toast isn't ginormous but was flavorful and a treat. And the fries were good. Like the ones you get maybe 1/50 times when they are done right at the fast food jointe. With the prices at Mickey Da these days I don't know who's still going there. Slim's ain't cheap but for the value this place is giving it away!!! Very solid. Don't get crazy with your expectations but the prices are very fair and the food is quality. I will be back. They also do shakes (no coffee shake though) and waffle and tender meal. well, to be fair I ordered at 9:30 PM and they close at 10. So I probably wasn't going to get the chicken tenders ever. But I got 3410, and I had to go inside to get it. So I went in to get my chicken and got my chicken and then I had to wait for a very long time to get soda which I think it's because maybe the other soda machine was turned off. Not sure. I just wish you would told me what was going on. But it really got me a guy somebody came to the drive-through or somewhere anyway we're close. I wanted to go home, but still. Very disappointed even with using the free coupon for a sandwich. 1st the guy could not understand me nor could I hear him via the drive-thru talk-box horrible experience, 2nd when I arrived at the pay window they asked if I was Sarah [NOPE] and I was never asked for a name. When she repeated the order I had been rung up as a meal; the order was 1 free chicken sandwich, small fry, and chocolate/strawberry shake. Oh, they cannot mix 2 shake flavors so I opted for the jar dessert. I was heading home after an appointment and is was 11 a.m. I decided to try their chicken and waffles, for me, and I purchased a chicken sandwich for my wife as I figured she had had her breakfast by now. After arriving home I opened the container to find a Belgian style waffle which was light and fresh. The chicken tenders were nicely seasoned and still warm when I arrived home. I did use the butter and syrup provided and added a little more syrup from our supply. Verdict, I was surprised at the quality and taste because the waffle and chicken were so good, My wife had the chicken sandwich later, and she shared with me. My wife is a tough sell on chicken sandwiches as the buns fall apart and the chicken frequently has an aftertaste. She enjoyed the sandwich and said she would be happy for me to do a return visit. When the grands arrive, we will take them here for a waffle and chicken late breakfast. I have no doubt they will approve this place. Counter staff was friendly and as I left the chef yelled out a thank you. There is plenty of parking and lots of seating inside. There is a drive through but I would recommend you become familiar with the menu before ordering. And there is an app for your smart phone that offers specials on occasion. This is my new go-to drive thru spot. Convenient location, fast service, two ordering lanes. Food is so good, reminds me a little of Raising Canes but I actually like the fries and sauces better (don't hate me). Prices seem really affordable for the quality of food being provided. No more expensive than McDonald's or Wendy's but so much tastier and fresher. My food has always been piping hot and the ranch is *chef's kiss*. read more

We placed an online order for takeout. Positives: the chicken tenders were really tasty and fresh and I liked both the Slim Chickens sauce and Ranch. Milkshakes had natural flavors (not artificial strawberry) and Mac n Cheese was nice and cheesy. I'd skip the fried pickles, they were average at best. Negatives: part of our order was missing and when we contacted the restaurant they indicated they'd give us a free one on our next order. But that's not really free is it? We waited to go here because we understand that the first few weeks can be rough for a new store and we wanted them to get a little experience first. We finally went in and were greeted right away. We took a few minutes to peruse the menu before ordering. We were a bit disappointed on the pricing at first glance. We placed our order with a lovely lady. She was very polite and encouraging on our selection which was a regular chicken sandwich meal, and also a club sandwich meal. Pretty simple of an order. Strike 1: We received the order, and the person who brought it was very polite, but the order was wrong. Of course, it was the more expensive club sandwich that was wrong, they gave us 2 of the same regular chicken sandwich. They were happy to fix the order, simply adding cheese, bacon, lettuce, and tomato to the sandwich. While they were nice about it, it was still a minor hassle, but by now they should be getting orders right especially one a simple as ours. Strike 2: was the quality of the chicken. It was stringy and chewy and not hot. Just made for an unpleasant sandwich. Strike 3: came with the flavor profile. Ranch and Mayo on the sandwich is just not a good blend for me. The fries were lightly dusted with seasoning, and that didn't go well with the ranch mayo blend. I would've been happier with regular salted fries honestly. Strike 4: Add to it, half the cook line weren't wearing hats, and those without hats didn't have hair nets. That's just me being picky about the health code. So, sometimes it's just not a good match for people and restaurants. I get it. We had the chicken club sandwich which was tender, jucie, and huge! So delighted that we also took some home. The strawberry shake was out of this world with chunks of fresh strawberries in it! The food is hot and fresh but as mentioned in another review it is super salty. Especially the fried pickles. And it's not the actual pickles that are salty, it's the batter. As for the flavor of the chicken tenders, they are on par with PDQ which is not saying much. With a name like "slim chickens" I wasn't expecting the chicken to be good, but it was the best part of the meal. Crispy outside and relatively juicy inside. Small pieces for the price though. Got the wings and they were small, slightly dry, and very chewy, with a buffalo sauce that lacked flavor. The bread was good, soft and tasted nice and garlicky. Ordered 6 sauces just to try them. Slim sauce was a creamy sweet sauce. Korean bbq tasted like spicy sweet teriyaki sauce. Ranch seemed watered down, as was honey mustard. Hot tasted like Tabasco and just as watery as Tabasco but super salty. Inferno was a saltier spicier version of the hot, with no real flavor. Potato salad was good, depending on your taste. It was dairy based vs vinegar, and had a bacon and onion flavor. Got a couple chewy pieces of bacon fat though :/ chocolate shake was ok, creamy but not chocolatey. Totally Underwhelmed My wife and I thought we would try Slim Chickens. We entered and the ceilings were high, and the music was so loud we had to speak very loudly to order. When we sat down, we could not hear each other speak. The clerks at the order counter friendly. The complete menu was either item with chicken tenders or chicken wings at Cadillac pricing. The speed from ordering to table was great. When I poured our soda, I explained to the server that I poured the wrong soda, and I asked her how to correct it. She looked at me as if I were from Outerspace. My wife's chicken sandwich was cold oily. My roll up was all tortilla and very little chicken and was cold. Ordered via Uber Eats. Ordered the holiday special which consists of 16 tenders, fries, 10 piece toast. We also ordered a sandwich, mac and cheese, a smoothie and a Diet Coke. Received everything except for the chicken. Decided to drive there and tell them the situation. Derrick and Madison greeted me and I explained everything. Derrick mentioned he remembered the order and a male picking it up. I told him a female delivered it and it said it was being delivered on a bike when a car delivered it. Uber has nothing to do with the restaurants they pick up from but Derrick apologized and said he will remake the holiday order. He didn't just remake the chicken but remade the fries and toast as well as providing ample sauces. Before I walked out he threw in 2 brownies. I recently downloaded the app and tonight I tried the crispy chicken breast without the cayenne ranch seasoning since it was for my wife and she's allergic. Overall, it was NOT a good experience. The cashier accused me of clicking the "REDEEM" button in October, which I said "I did not," because I only got the app last month. She was frustrated and insisted that I did something wrong and that the app is very sensitive. Finally, after five minutes, she gave me the free chicken sandwich, which I was promised for signing up after giving them my information. For the record, my wife will only eat grilled and not fried and they do NOT serve a much more healthy grilled chicken as an option on the menu. Can you believe it?? I know since it's totally crazy. We can delete the app, since we will never return to Slim Chickens in this lifetime. Overall, it was NOT a good experience. They have very poor customer service! I have a free birthday treat that I will let expire next month. Just skip it, since Culver's and Chick-fil-A are much better options IMHO! I wish them luck in this new location. first it was very hard to read menu as lettering was small and faint. lets remember not everyones eyes are that of a teenager anymore. tables vey heavy - noisy metal chairs. the ceiling where high but had no noise dampers to it was vey noisy. the food came out quick but the fries weren't done to a crisp but were very soggy. the toast wasn't done so it to was soggy. the chicken tenders were done some with light batter some with a heavy batter not consistent.i hope this finds you taking this not as a negative but something you can work to fix. cya my wife said the floors need a really good mopping. read more
