TL; DR version: Ashley is a wizard. If you are considering permanent makeup in Seattle (or anywhere within driving distance for that matter), look no further than her. You will not be disappointed! I've spent 15+ years fussing with liquid liner, wasting countless hours every morning trying to get it just right (always made especially difficult by feline "helpers" and/or early morning caffeine jitters). I'd always loved the idea of tattooing it on, but had seen far too many victims of bad/overzealous permanent makeup to actually go through with it. About a year ago I started researching the matter again and stumbled upon Ashley's website. Here was a permanent makeup artist who appeared to really take into consideration what would work best with her clients' anatomy, and somehow managed to avoid the thick, blurry, bleeding lines I was terrified of ending up with. I was especially intrigued that she used pigment vs. ink, which must be redone about every two years but doesn't bleed/smudge as a result. I bit it and made an appointment to have my upper lid done. Ashley was able to do the initial consult and the procedure on the same day, which I really appreciated given my hectic schedule. She took the time to explain exactly what she was going to do and why, and what I could expect with healing, aftercare, etc. She could not have been more patient when I got way too curious about the instrument she was using to apply the pigment (not a traditional tattoo machine, as I was expecting). Overall, her chairside manner could not be better. She is warm, friendly, patient, and as gentle as one can possibly be whilst stabbing someone's eyelid with a needle/pen contraption. Given the sensitivity of the area I was expecting a lot more pain/trauma and was pleasantly surprised. Most importantly though, Ashley took her time, going over the area again after the initial application to ensure everything was perfect and nothing was missed. I walked out after the initial appointment very puffy, but with a perfectly straight line with a mini-cat eye that perfectly complemented my eye shape. Be warned that swelling will occur in the hours/days after, and the line can look a lot thicker as a result; my line was almost twice as thick for the first two days due to swelling, but once the swelling went down it was absolutely perfect. I was actually shocked by how perfect. Use the Bella Balm you're given after the appointment; it is a miracle substance and really helps with the flaking/swelling. After a week of experiencing the joy that is being able to be out the door in ten minutes flat if necessary, I began to regret that we didn't do my lower lids as well. When I went in to have my upper lid touched up yesterday, we did my lower lid. It turned out better than I could have ever imagined - a super thin, perfectly straight line that is practically on my lash line. Ashley does my makeup WAY better than I ever could! End result: this morning I happily threw away all of my eyeliner pens, pots, and sticks - three small Mason jars' worth of product no longer hogging space on my bathroom counter. Permanent makeup was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I'm thanking my lucky stars that I waited until finding Ashley before going through with it. If you are in the same position (love the idea but are apprehensive), I encourage you to make an appointment with Ashley. Here's to being able to roll out of bed in the morning looking amazing! I had negative experience with Ashely at Bellametrics. I first went to Ashley for scar camouflage makeup, aiming to cover my hyper-pigmentation for several small scars on my body by applying skin colored tattoo ink over it. During consultation, Ashely said it would work but requires multiple treatment (that is $250/hr x unknown hours). It sounds promising and I was eager to get rid of the hyperpigmentation before summer so I went with it. After treatment, I realized this is something I should never considered. 1. It took 4-6 months for the bleeding and additional hyperpigmentation (caused by traumatizing skin by applying tattoo needles) to fade. 2. The initial results were uneven beige tone patches that floats on top of your natural skin, looking nothing like real skin. I also found out that the remaining couple of hyper-pigmentation spots I did not have treatment done, naturally faded away completely in 6 months (total of 1.5 years). The results were terrible and I had to go with the laser tattoo removal to get rid of them. The camouflage ink was metallic based so the spots turned to black after 1st laser tx. Each subsequent tx needs to be 2 months apart (total of 6-8 treatments) and I am traumatized (the pain, the messy after care, and the money) every 2 months because of this mistake of getting the Camouflage. If she had been honest with me in the first place or if she had possessed basic knowledge that hyperpigmentation will eventually fade away as matter of time, I would not have done any of this. Now I have black spots all over my body and I won't be able to wear any shorts or skirts until all the ink is gone with laser treatment. Take home message: If you have light skin with some hyperpigmentation from skin trauma, wait and it will eventually fade away. Use creams like La Mer or scar essential oil blend to speed up the process. Be patient. Go to a real doctor for real expert opinion. Whatever you do, do not apply skin colored tattoo over it, doesn't matter what makeup artist promise you. It does not work. read more

I searched for 3-4 years to find a tattoo artist for my eyebrows and when I finally found Ashley, I knew she was the one! She's spendy, but worth every penny. When you're investing in something that will be on your face, you want quality and she delivers. I have trichotillomania and am pretty used to feeling ashamed of my eyebrows, so one of the reasons I picked Ashley was because her website and blog both mentioned that she had patients who also had the disorder. I appreciated her non-judgmental attitude and it was clear she wanted to do her best to help. She was very kind, welcoming, friendly, and understanding. She listened very carefully to me and made sure she understood what I wanted before doing anything. I never felt shamed or like I had done anything wrong. She really does understand. When she finished and I got to see my new eyebrows for the first time, I loved them! In fact, I smiled pretty much constantly for the whole week! Every time I saw myself in a mirror, I'd just grin wider. I look so good! After they healed, I loved them even more! I haven't gone so many days without wearing makeup since high school. The most common reaction I got (because for the first few days I would NOT SHUT UP about my AMAZING NEW EYEBROWS) was that they looked real! They really do! You have to look closely to tell that they are tattoos. That's what I waited so long for an artist for and I am just over the moon at Ashley's excellent work! I just had my first touchup after the initial session and she's somehow made them even better than before, so I had to leave a review. At last! My 20-year odyssey in search of the perfect eyebrow is over, thanks to Ashley! A short eyebrow history: I first had my eyebrows tattooed in 1995 (at the age of 40) and was thrilled with the results. However, when I went to have them touched up several years later, the tattoo artist had retired and so I had someone else do them--with disastrous results. I spent the next several years meticulously covering up my big caterpillar eyebrows with thick makeup. Eventually I had them lasered off--not fun. A few years ago, I worked up the courage to try it again. This time the artist I chose did a pretty good job . . . but my eyebrows didn't last more than a month. I went back for touch-ups SIX times in the space of a year and a half and, many $$ later, still ended up with just a light grayish shadow of brows. Then I ran across Ashley's website, and decided to give her a try. Hallelujah! I am happy to report that I now love my brows--they're perfectly shaped, perfectly symmetrical, and they are here to stay. Ashley was very friendly and professional; she listened to what I said, and made sure I was happy with the preliminary "drawing" of my brows before she went ahead with the ink. In fact, while experimenting with brow designs, she came up with one particular shape that she really loved . . . but that I didn't think was me. Although she REALLY liked that design, she said she would of course tattoo whatever design I was happiest with . . . and she did! So I have first-hand experience that Ashley is totally trustworthy, and really listens to and absolutely respects the wishes of her clients. I have been drawing on my eyebrows for about 13 years. I have almost no brow hair of my own and spent about 30 minutes every morning drawing them on. I feared wind, water and anything brushing by my face for fear that my eyebrows would smudge. I started researching microblading and permanent cosmetic artists. It was very easy to decide on her, because not only does she have multiple certifications and years of experience, she has an extensive portfolio and 5 stars on any rating site anywhere. In the early 1970's I followed the fashion rule of having pencil thin eyebrows, figuring when the style changed they'd grow back. Never happened. Since then I'd been using every brow cosmetic on the market for nearly 20 years, or none at all. About 15 years ago and had my brows permanently tattooed for the first time, which eventually faded; unfortunately, so did the tattoo artist. A couple of years ago I found someone who did the "tapping" method but she did it in such a way that my brows tended to have a stenciled Joan Crawford look. Then I found Ashley at Bellametrics and what a difference a talented and committed professional can make! After examining my botched brows she carefully listened to what I wanted and advised me on what we needed to do; requiring some removal first to get a starter shape. After two more visits my brows are complete with a beautiful arch and mix of color that looks natural: I'm fair skinned, have blue eyes and gray hair and didn't want my brows to be the focal point of my face. Ashley, You should be upset as well because you have lost a loyal customer and word of mouth advertising. My mom just spent $800, to get her brows done and mine touched up, with someone else. You certainly didn't give that speech when I called to schedule my touch up. I also remember this like it was yesterday. It was actually a year ago when this happened. My first appointment was in February 2014 and I called in February 2015 to schedule the 4th touch up. You had to call me back the first time I called because you were out of town and didn't have my file. A week later you returned my call and you were completely rude to me, which made me not want to come back anyways. But then you told me you didn't have a spot for a month. I find that very hard to believe considering you had been in business for 1 year or so. You didn't want to honor the price you told me I would pay annually for touch ups. Bottom line. It had been years since my original cosmetic tattooing was done by another artist. The tattooing was fading and when I called to make a follow-up appointment after 2 years, her phone had a message stating that she had retired. I was unable to locate her to request a referral so I searched in vain for 3 years. I manage a medical office and complimented a patient on her makeup, something I have never done. I have had my eyebrows microbladed each year for the last six years and when my current salon stopped doing them I was forced to find another one. A great friend of mine whom gets hers done with me sought out a new salon for us and told me about Bellametrics. I was very nervous about trying someone new as the results would be semi-permanent. Ashley is so talented! I have alopecia universalis so in addition to losing the hair on head, I also lost my eyebrows and eyelashes. I got pretty good at penciling in my eyebrows, but tired of going on hikes, exercising, swimming, etc. and realizing afterwards that some or all of one or both brows had been washed away! Sad! So, I got up the nerve to get my eyebrows done a year ago by another permanent makeup artist. I wasn't in love with them and I still penciled in but at least if I went swimming or to the gym, there was something remaining. But then I got tired of penciling in again, I mean I had permanent makeup! So I decided to have them done again. I called Ashley and set up an appointment to have her re-do my eyebrows. Ashley is a true artist. My only regret truly is waiting so long to make the appointment. The moment that I realized how much I really loved them was three days after they were done, I went to the store after a long day of housework. I had no makeup on and my hair in a ponytail and the clerk (who had great eyebrows herself) said "this is a weird comment to make but I really like your eyebrows". When I told her that they had been tattooed earlier in the week she didn't believe me. She kept telling me how bad most tattooed eyebrows look and it gave her hope for having a permanent solution that looks good. I couldn't be more pleased with the results I received after visiting Bellametrics and Ashley! I am so so glad I did this. Ashley did such an amazing job on my eyebrows, they are better than I could have ever imagined!!! Not only is she a perfectionist, but she is a joy to be around. I have red hair and not much for eyebrows, but now I wake up with perfect brows everyday.
