Ok so I've been three times now and I've decided to leave a review. I always book the couples…read moremassage and the first two times I went it was very relaxing, but this third time was what convinced me to write a review for one particular masseuse in general because I'm not sure what type of witchcraft TCM practice she used on me but I feel my entire back is back in alignment, my blood flow is back, and my (tmi) bowels are back in working order. Bear in mind with Real Chinese massages, there is supposed to be pain. My body during the process was under so. mUCH. PAIN. I was wailing a lot and the secondary masseuse who was working on my partner was concerned but my masseuse responded with "don't worry I know what I'm doing" and continued the excruciating pain. I did not know this kind of massage was what I needed at the time because although I asked for full body, the first two times i had gotten only back and arm massages... but this one? Oh she absolutely knew what she was doing and did not cut corners. I will warn you thát if you do not have high pain tolerance, you aren't ready for this kind of massage. And even though I was in so much pain, she reassured thát the pain will only be for today and tomorrow there will be less pain. I don't know how she knew I was sitting on my ass at my desk a lot or knew that I was lacking sleep, but I really felt taken care of. They say if you have a lot of pain during the massage it means that there's something wrong with your body. I definitely believe it now. I left feeling like a tenderized chicken. If you come here, ask for Anna or Ada.

I came here for a foot reflexology and body massage package. Booking was easy by phone and their…read morepackage prices are very reasonable. I loved the foot massage and I was in a quiet private room which was nice. There was a TV, but it wasn't turned on. I'm not sure if you can ask them to put something on, but I prefer to read my book anyways. My massage therapist was great even if we didn't communicate all that much (she spoke Mandarin and I don't!). The body massage is the Tuina style, and it was ok but I prefer Swedish massage with oil, which is just a personal preference. I chose this place because of their sauna, but I was kind of disappointed. It is really small and it is crammed into the unisex locker room which is also the only place there is a customer washroom. So you have to get changed in the washroom (otherwise the door is open and people are passing by, so not exactly private!) and there is no lounge area to sit before/after the sauna (for instance if you want to do a few rounds). The sauna itself is a bit hazardous, a few slats of the wood are collapsing and there are metal nails!! I have been to a ton of saunas but have never encountered this, as it makes no sense because the nails get super HOT!! It's not like there are a ton of them and you can just sit carefully to ensure you don't touch them, but still, this seems like very poor design. The location is convenient, in a plaza near many bubble tea, dessert places and Asian restaurants. I would go back for foot reflexology but I would go elsewhere if I want to use a sauna.

I was having serious stomach problems because of my gluten intolerance and Lindsey White cleaned up my diet, helped me balance my PH levels so I wasn't so acidic, and worked with me to figure out how best to treat my issue. My doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, but Lindsey had me feeling much better in weeks. It's worth noting that the staff here are super supportive of LGBT folks. I'm trans and they treat me with amazing respect and care. My pronouns and chosen name are always used, even though I haven't yet changed my legal name. it's a very trans-affirming place. If you have a benefits plan that will only cover naturopathy, but not acupuncture and you find acupuncture helpful, the practitioners will often just bill you for a naturopathy session so you can get the treatment covered through your plan. They made sure I was comfortable and showed me where the washroom was before I went in for my treatment. Carlo Marcoccia was my RMT. I met him before, and he really is a very warm and friendly individual. He did a great job assessing my knee problems and treating it accordingly. He asked about my habits and gave me advice on how to better care for myself. When massaging, he used the right level of force and ensured I wasn't in pain. I felt very much at ease with Carlo and was comfortable talking to him about everything - he made my experience a very positive one and I would highly recommend him.

This is my go-to place for my monthly massages because I absolutely love it!…read more I am someone who works a desk job, do not take as many breaks as I should, and some days I feel like I'm carrying all the world's problems. This brings me to why I max out on my massage benefits every year. Aches Away is great especially for their No Frills massages. I can appreciate a relaxing massage with essential oils and spa-type flair, but after about 30 mins I'm a bit bored. The No Frills massage is just that - go in and cater to your needs. Amy is my go-to RMT. I have tried their RMTs, but Amy is brilliant for me because she provides deep-tissue massage and hits pressure points. If I am honest, it hurt quite a lot in the beginning but in the best way. I felt renewed after. Since it is downtown, I typically walk or bike because parking can be a pain. After years of various gut issues, anxiety, repetitive migraines, and chronic back pain - I had…read morefinally reached my breaking point. "*You* are going to a naturopath," I told my boyfriend. He met my glare with an enigmatic gaze but resigned himself to my incessant badgering. After initially reaching out to his former naturopath facility and failing to connect with anyone, I hit Google for Naturopath recommendations. Newmarket Naturopath was the first on the search results page, and after looking at a few other contenders - I decided Dr. Alexandra Lee and her practice were the winners and promptly booked her earliest available Saturday appointment. On appointment day, Dr. Lee greeted us upon entering with a warm smile and a clipboard with the intake form on it. She offered us water, tea and coffee while my boyfriend completed the form and was incredibly gracious. Once we were ready to go, I asked her whether I'd be permitted to enter the office too to receive some insight on what I can do on my end to help the success of my partner's health goals. Without missing a beat, she replied: "Absolutely!" I thought that would be the last of our interaction; this was my partner's appointment after all - but no. Throughout the entirety of the appointment, Dr. Lee made the recommendations and suggested exercises an inclusive experience, often extending the option to me to attempt the demonstrated exercises with my boyfriend. Since our initial appointment, my partner's back symptoms have been near non-existent thanks to the suggested stretches she tasked him with, and his various gut issues have been rendered more or less obsolete courtesy of the supplement treatment plan she's put him on. And perhaps even more startling - he has lost ten (welcomed) pounds. My boyfriend is no longer dependent on over the counter medicines to get him through every single day. (And I'm glad to not have to carry a whole pharmacy in my purse anymore.) To see the sheer jubilation on his face over being gut problem free, having no back pain, a substantial increase in mood and having his anxiety be reduced to a dull noise in the background provides me with an elation that I can't even begin to articulate into words. I cannot begin to thank Dr. Lee enough for returning my partner's body back to him and renewing his confidence. I'm looking forward to meeting with her for my own appointment in October. If you're looking for a naturopath who is warm, thoughtful and addresses your concerns and fears with an exceptional attention to detail - Dr. Lee and the Newmarket Naturopath practice is for you.

Ming Fai Chan is the primary doctor here and is very experienced within joint pains, back pains,…read moreacupuncture and massage therapy with many many years practicing and has obtained an MD at University of Toronto and a lot of practice in China. He and his wife both run this clinic - they combine both western and eastern medicine and practices to treat a variety of bone and joint problems. His wife has experience in acupuncture and I heard she is very experienced as well. In the eastern culture it is believed that acupuncture, especially from a master, could be very impactful. From my experience, I've been having problems with my shoulder ever since I was young - this involves overstretched and stressed tendons in and around the joint of my shoulders. This causes occasional pain when doing exercises in certain angles that were bad for my shoulders or playing aggressive sports such as hockey or ultimate frisbee. I've been to a variety of doctors and physiotherapists who were unable to exactly diagnose to problem or help me heal it. Going to this clinic drastically improved my shoulder joints made it feel a lot better and essentially healed it. He provided me with exercises, medical patches and tips on to preserve the state of my shoulder. I recommend anybody with persistent joint pain anywhere on their body to go see this doctor, because he's very diligent and able to resolve the problem immediately. There are some caveats though that it's very expensive, this treatment cost me thousands of dollars and he doesn't speak English well because he primarily practices in Cantonese. His hours are flexible and the clinic works as a mix of walk-ins and appointments. During core hours you should be able to walk-in, but it's safe to make an appointment and the doctors are usually lenient and will try to accommodate you.

Instead, after my adjustment, he caused a compression fracture that was not there before! I know this because the day after the adjustment/ manipulation, I felt so much pain with a fever, I went into emergency, they did an MRI of my spine and told me whatever Chan Ming Fai did (from comparison to my recent MRI), they could see that it was worse. When I went to a more well known chiropractor, he stated the manipulation Chan Ming Fai did on me (from my description of what happened), should have NEVER been done on anyone!! Chan Ming Fai IS TERRIBLE!!! Beware. Secondly, he disclosed other patient information to me. He showed me a patient's information form with the name, phone number, date of birth and their diagnosis and how he helped this person, this is unprofessional and illegal. In fact, as I write this, I am looking up how to report this. Lastly, some of the things he said did not make sense. I was desperate and made a mistake in believing him. I regret it. When I tell others, I find more people that is telling me their horrible experience and that he is a fake. Its one thing he cannot help you, it's horrible when he hurt you from his treatment and make you in a worse pain than you originally was suffering. He should not perform manipulations on people when he is unsure or inexperienced.
