I was…read morehere this weekend for the first annual LEAFF (Lake Erie Arts & Film Fest) and enjoyed seeing movies in this venue. It's a lot smaller than the Michigan but still just as beautiful. The concession stand seemed to be open during LEAFF but no one was actually manning it - I did see popcorn was $3 but for a small portion. Ticket-takers / other staff were friendly, restrooms were clean, the theater part itself is gorgeous. Worth seeing a film here if you're in the area.

Badge pick up is pretty busy the first day, but it moves pretty quick and is easy any time after. Lines tend to be longest for the otaku market and craft fair. Dealer's room and artist alley are varied yet roomy. This con is actually pretty well priced since it's a popular venue and big events. The wrestling tournament is also extremely popular. List goes on, but basically there's something for everyone.

This museum is a living history experience, located in the very print shop and weekly newspaper…read morethat served Vermilion, Ohio, from 1897-1964. After closing all the equipment remained in place, sitting dormant until 2012 when the doors of the museum opened to the public. It's exactly as it was 50 years ago - this place is a true time warp! If your looking for Disney, this isn't it though - this a classic small town newspaper, literally just as it was when it shut down in 1964. Worn floors, printers type, the smell of printers ink....it's all there. Want to know how information was disseminated before your cell phone/ Fox News/ CNN? Check it out! Upstairs is a period museum of the family that lived there - back when you lived above your business, especially if it was a newspaper (the News never stopped, even back then). Just a great place to experience the past - not the "pretty" or "Disney-fied" past - the way it truly was.

Linwood has one of the best and cleanest beaches in the area. There are many amenities including a park, basketball courts, tennis courts, shuffleboard, etc. The park is home to a little store called The Stand which sells ice cream,shakes, sundaes, penny candy, lunch items, and lotsof other great treats. New to Linwood is the new museum/gift shop and rooms to rent above The Stand. Many cottages are available to rent during the summer and fall months. Linwood has several year round residents, but overall, this is a sleepy summer getaway. Linwood continues to offer family programming throughout the park. Linwood also has Sunday School for all ages and has a church service in the Tabernacle every Sunday during the summer season. Church services are open to everyone, you may attend church and not pay for entry into the park. (check with the gate for details). All activities are free unless noted (the only activity that I know of that has a fee is beach yoga. Please check the Linwood Park Company webpage for more details and for info regarding rates. I'm not sure if it's public knowledge, but I'm almost certain that you can enter Linwood and stay for an hour and a half and not have to pay anything.

I love all things horror related and the escape rooms were a nice added bonus. There were plenty of guests screaming and being scared which is always fun, but it almost seemed like they needed more workers in some areas. There were so many places that they could have had people jump out or simply be. . .and they didnt. . It was still fun, but I wouldnt say that I thought it was scary in the slightest. The escape rooms were cool! I love doing them!! Even though I wouldnt put this up to the same level as some others that I have been, I loved going here and think its a great fun place to go for October. I would def go back!

Be sure to catch the parade, and wave to the Melon Queen, selected from all the senior girls at the high school and riding on her Melon Slice Throne on the parade float.

My mom and I accidentally stumbled across Bike Week while it was being set up probably 6 or 7 years ago now. We were walking around downtown Sandusky and noticed all of the vendors prepping their tents, so we were curious about what was going on. We stopped back the next day, once everything was in full swing, and immediately fell in love. I should clarify here: I've never been on a bike, I don't own leather pants and I look ridiculous in a bandana, which is why I stick out like a sore thumb when I make my annual Bike Week appearance. I've never seen so much leather in one place, and this might be the best people-watching venue that has ever existed. The week-long event also features a ton of local bands, special events around town, bike parades, etc. but let's be honest, the people are definitely the highlight here. I'm sad to say that I don't think Bike Week will be returning next year (at least that's the rumor in Sandusky), but if it does I promise you will not regret checking it out. Oh, and did I mention midget wrestling? Yep, it happens.

There is a variety of food and merchandise vendors that are happy to meet your needs. In addition to that there are two stages with Lube musical entertainment. Great for the family by day and I would say adults by night. If your in the area while this event is happening it's most certainly worth a visit!
