This one tree was a monster, maybe 80' tall, and 2.5' diameter at the base. They didn't have to do this for me knowing I couldn't pay in full or even pay much at all. They did it, because they knew it needed to be done. They did it, because they didn't want them to fall on my house or my kids. There aren't too many companies like this out there. Cherish them when you find them. Another company for example told me it would cost almost 3x as much, that they needed specialized equipment, and that they wanted me to take sections of my fence down too... Nelson's? They showed up, climbed up, used ropes, and saws... No damage to anything.

The original masonry project was for $500. This included the contractor paying for materials (the…read moreconcrete and the "parge" materials). I then asked him if he can do a railing with the understanding since it is not his expertise that I was buying the railing and the screws. This project was originally quoted over a phone call for $300 which he then tried to ask for more and I told him if he was not sticking to his word that he could take the railing project out and continue on with work on the chimney only. The remainder of the chimney (his expertise so materials like the first job should have been included in the job quote) was to be $500. He stated he would stick to his quote to complete the requested job (railing and chimney) for $850 the 50 extra for the concrete screws needed to complete the install of the railing. Once he completed the railing he requested to be paid $500 now $300 for the chimney. I agreed to this with the understanding that the chimney would then be knocked down to 300. He then back tracked multiple times trying to get more money for the chimney by sending materials costs to me (which any contractor should already have factored this into the quote and like was previously factored into the original quote). I then declined services after calling out the inconsistencies. He then proceeded to text me again to apologize for not sticking to his word and "being a good guy" would complete the project as originally stated. Which I then refused again. He proceeded to send a long message trying to justify all his actions and lack of sticking to his word. I would never hire this company again as they clearly are not professionals with quoting out jobs and blaming the consumer that they didn't do things properly.

I'm a retired police sergeant and spent 10 years in the trades prior to my law enforcement career. While in the trades I once supervised a crew of 80 commercial framers and drywall hangers. After being provided with a detailed estimate, Chris and his crew were hired. Chris actually encouraged me to get multiple estimates (which I did not). Chris stayed in contact with me until the day of the job. Chris, his crew, a sub-contracted crane service and the utility company all arrived at the scheduled time, set up and went to work. They took all precautions for site safety and my landscaping. Once working, the communication and coordination between the crew members was spot on. I understand the challenges of keeping a crew moving and I was impressed. It only took them approximately three hours to take down, cut up and clean up a 75' Hackberry tree. They are a well oiled machine and left the yard in great condition. LP Tree Service has been in business for 60+ years. Chris took the business over from his father and I believe two of his children and at least one grandchild works for the business. I am extremely pleased with the service provided and highly recommend them.
