I stopped in during the seasonal flavor changeover, so they were running low on a few options. The server told me they were restocking the new flavors the next day. I was hoping to try the vanilla lavender, but I'll have to save that for another visit. Instead, I went with the butter pecan crunch, which the server said is their best-selling flavor. It had a rich, creamy texture, though I thought it could have used a little more flavor. The richness was just on the edge of being a bit too heavy, but it was still a good scoop of ice cream. As I was leaving, a large family was enjoying ice cream together, and it reinforced the feeling that this is a neighborhood spot locals genuinely support. I always enjoy finding local ice cream shops when I travel, and Wild Honey is worth a stop if you're in downtown Longview.

We went straight to the back of the shop to watch the production kitchen where the gentleman was actually starting a process (what we learned later) of brittle making. Intrigued, and so satisfying to watch. They have free samples peanut brittle and pecan brittle. We both agree that this is some of the best. It's not the "bust you tooth" brittle (meant your candy got too hot), it's the airy, nice crunch, full of flavor, not too sweet, hint of burnt butter brittle. Yes, yes! They nailed it. It's the brittle you start to eat, and boom the package is done. Of course we had to get brittle, and white chocolate covered nuts, too. They sell a variety of sliced pies, milkshakes and cold drinks. I bet this is the place I will be in the summer, especially for ice cream.
