I wrote a review for this place before, but it's under new ownership so I'm doing a new one. We love the staff here and the decor is delightful. I join a group of friends on every other Tuesday to play cards. They serve food, they bring in scones and I've heard about the tasty brisket burritos from Slaughterhouse bbq but I've not tried them. Unfortunately they aren't stocked with a variety of teas ... they carry no decaf for instance. Sometimes they run out of ingredients needed to make specialty coffees that are in the menu. Which can be frustrating. My go to drink at Coffee places is a London fog with a sugar free vanilla syrup. I stopped trying to get that here because they either have run out of earl grey tea or the sf vanilla. So I order the unsweetened tea. My friend got a smoothie which looked pretty delicious! It's worth a little inconvenience to go here! Give it a go! read more

What a great find! We were passing through the area on a Friday morning and picked this place to take a morning conference call. This coffee shop is adorable, friendly staff, brisket burrito was DELICIOUS. A steady stream of people during our hour pit stop here. Met the owner and he was very friendly. Passing thru, stopped for coffee. Love the vibe. Such cute decor. A feast for your eyes. Very warm and inviting. Service was good, prompt, friendly. Asked about the scones, she recommended her fave. Ordered The Babe which is a white chocolate mocha, very balanced, not too sweet but sweet enough. The scone was a good flavor but not as cakey, more like a heavy biscuit. It wasn't dry but just was missing something for me. I make amazing scones so I'm a tough customer. I did eat it all, so it wasn't bad just not a wow. Nice ambiance with good music in the background, perfect level, not overpowering. Met the owner, very sweet. Loved talking with her. She connected with all her customers, obviously she loves what she is doing. Wish we were going to be there later for the live music. read more

This place looks so cool inside! However, I am afraid that is the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one. We were so excited to try this coffee shop as we pulled over for a road trip pit stop. The door was wide open, lights on and people inside. We excitedly walked in and looked at the menu. As soon as we did so, a young girl rudely told us that "if [we were] looking for coffee, they closed at 4" (it was 4:05 and the doors were wide open with something clearly going on inside but no signage to indicate exactly what). It was overall a very uncomfortable and rude experience and it's a shame we didn't get to try any coffee. Very disappointing and such rude service. Not sure I'll try again on our way back. :( read more

I love this little local coffeehouse. The drinks are great, and the pastries are made in-house and are delicious. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 only because when they are super busy, service can be very slow. I was there during a local yearly event, and I waited between 30-45 minutes for my latte--and they didn't let me know when it was ready. I had to ask if the one on the counter was mine. There just weren't enough employees there that day--and since this event is a regular yearly thing, it seems they would have been more prepared. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry. I'll go on "regular" days. Great little place. read more

Loved this cute, cozy, and charming coffeeshop in downtown Quitman. It's really the poster child for cool, independently owned java spot. Vintage furniture, obscure music, non-sensical decor just nudging you to daydream and chill in one of the nooks of this quaint garret. Additionally, their coffee was wonderful. Quality beans brewed with care. And they had all of the caffeine condiments i require, soy milk, cinnamon, and raw sugar. Treat yourself next time you are passing through downtown Quitman and grab a refreshment, hot or cold. After your first visit, if you're like me, you'll want to return soon for your next escape from the mundane. read more

My husband and I are from out of town and we stopped in for a breakfast and coffee. Wow! Incredible coffee, beautiful building with lots of cozy sitting options, and the friendliest service around. Today they are celebrating the 6th year and the owner went around giving everyone birthday cupcakes! We ended up staying and just hanging out at the shop for about 4 hours yesterday. This is a super cool coffee shop. The wife and I had some coffee during our all day road trip through East Texas and sat and did some reading for a couple hours. The employees were just great and the coffee hit the spot for sure. They also have a good selection of pastries and sandwiches that looked very tasty. We didn't partake, but we did hear several of their customers (many who sounded like regulars) ordering and enjoying some food. My only regret is that I live too far away to make this a part of my routine. read more

Great little coffee shop in a small town. Met with some people for a business meeting and got introduced to the owners. Super nice people. It's still a work in progress decor wise but overall it's finished out. Has an antique look to it but still has some modern looks to it. Onto the coffee: I typically do not like Cafe Americano. But I wanted a black coffee and decided to try it. It was absolutely amazing! Bold, rich, and made with care. The owner made it (wish I could remember their names) and did great. My mom and I drove all the way to Quitman just to try this coffee shop. It definitely did not disappoint! It was very cute, quaint, and comfortable. It's definitely a space I would want to spend time at. The staff was very friendly and I couldn't have asked for better service. I knew when I walked in and Dixie Chicks was playing it was the coffee shop for me. Very cozy and comfortable atmosphere. We stopped in on a rainy day for some hot coffee and a cinnamon roll(Delicious!). We relaxed and enjoyed our coffee while it poured outside. It took 25 minutes to get 2 coffees, a scone, and 2 breakfast sandwiches that they had prewrapped (unwrapped and put into a paper box to microwave). My whole family loves hanging out here. We used to live in Colorado where great coffeeshops were in abundance, so we got spoiled. Speakeasy is the best coffeeshop in East Texas we have found (including all the ones in Tyler), if you don't mind the drive. We were living in Tyler at the time they opened, and we would make weekend trips up to Quitman. Now that we live closer, it is easier to justify going more often. ;) read more
