That combined with her lovely personality made me feel confident in choosing her to assist my birth. During active labor, Jesse beyond exceeded our expectations. She had a strong intuition about what my body needed and when, clearly developed over her training as a doula and massage therapist, but what is also an obvious innate talent. She pushed me to try strategies outside of my comfort zone as well as respected my limitations and needs. She was a source of both comfort and strength, helping me work through every contraction, repositioning me to get my sunny-side-up baby to spin, making sure I was hydrated, involving my partner, massaging and applying gentle touch, and so much more. She stayed with us throughout my labor that lasted the span of two days, an unwavering touchstone. My daughter was successfully born by VBAC, and I don't know if I could have done it without Jesse. I heard multiple nurses comment on how great a doula she was, and also one said to me directly how lucky I was to have her, because she was one of the best she'd ever worked with. After birth, Jesse stayed with us for longer than an hour to make sure we were settled, and then arranged to get us food from our favorite restaurant to feed the ravenous post-labor hunger, which was quite far away. She absolutely went the extra mile for us in every way. Also, Jesse was willing to work with my husband and I on price. She believes all people should have access to a birth doula, and it is so deeply appreciated. I wholeheartedly recommend Jesse to any laboring person and couple. It's 3 years later and I have a second child…read more Ethan has been attending Rock It Baby class since he was 6 months old. He is 11 months old at the time of this review. The staff has changed since my daughter attended, but the classes are still very enjoyable and worth it. Ms. Nicole leads Rock It Baby and she's wonderful. I highly highly recommend Over the Moon for both baby and toddler classes. One thing to address from my last review. I mentioned my daughter was at a different development stage than the peers she attended classes with. At age 4 my daughter was diagnosed Autistic. Seeing the difference between her and other kids her age is what set us on the path to getting a neuropsych evaluation for her. I really appreciate that Over the Moon gave us the opportunity to see our daughter interact with her peers. I was a first time parent and it was just after the first COVID wave so I didn't realize my daughter was missing milestones. Today, my daughter is 6 and thriving. Mainstreamed for Kindergarten and extremely talkative.

Informative, empowering, respectful, approachable, individual, caring, encouraging. But, at this point I've had my baby. I had a natural (no epi, no pitosin, etc..) birth at a major hospital. It was an amazing experience (seriously) and I owe that in large part to Zina's teaching and guidance. This is how Zina's classes helped: 1. My husband and I had learned what was happening at different stages of the birth process, and could make informed decisions once we got to the hospital, we didn't feel like we were being told what to do and instead were an active part of the decision-making process. 2. I felt confident and excited, instead of apprehensive and scared (if left to my own devices, I'd just feel scared). This made such a difference. 3. Probably the biggest difference was that when the time came, my husband and I were a team. It's natural for a partner to want to help, but oftentimes it's hard to know how, especially with how birth is portrayed in movies. Zina's class gave us a 'toolkit,' and having those options and ideas at the ready for when you don't really have time to think was key.

One of the best decision I have made during my first pregnancy is to work with Vanessa. At the same time she was able to demonstrate her knowledge and yet remained flexible to guide us into our own birth plan. She never imposed her opinion. She showed evidence from most current researches and helped us make our own decision. I was induced due to my overdue. With my second round of pitocin and induced labor being intensified, we asked her to come over and she showed up at the hospital. She maintained calm for entire time and her presence was absolutely reassuring. I truly loved her counter pressure and she reminded me to breath to get through the intense pain. She also knows all the procedures that I felt completely advocated by her. Also my husband felt comfortable with her coaching how to help me and he got some rest with her being with me. It was extremely helpful to have Vanessa who can professionally maintain healthy distance and guiding this overwhelming process with patience and kindness. She blended with my team and detected what I and my husband wanted accurately. I ended up having a c-section due to my fibroid and I was so scared. I never received a surgery in my life and I felt like a failure. I also hated that things did not work out the way I planned. I was very hesitant to make that decision. She was able to assist me in communicating with my husband who wanted me to get the surgery but respectful to my wish. When she gently mentioned that, I realized I tried everything I could to give a natural birth and it is the time to go on a plan B. She waited until my surgery was over and made sure we were ok. We only had positive experiences with Vanessa and strongly recommend her for anyone!!! She will make the precious birth experience as the best as it can be!

I'll never forget coming home with my first baby and waking up in the morning and thinking that my dogs were so dirty ( and they are inside very clean dogs) I thought to myself -now I know why people get rid of their pets when they bring home newborns then my husband gave me a placenta pill and right away I was back to my old self nursing my baby on one side and holding my little puppy on the other side...lol!! I don't know what that was about..... maybe my hormones and my brain adjusting to a brand-new baby, nevertheless I never got baby blues postpartum or anything AND my milk came in with both kids pretty much the same day as I got my pills.
