If you are looking for a studio to do Competition Cheer and Dance, you've found your home. My daughter has been in dance since she was 3. This was our 6th year and 6th recital. This was our first year with Jen's Dance Spot. My first impression of Jen was that she seemed a little rude and very particular about everything. As the year progressed I found her to be surprisingly disorganized. In the weeks leading up to the recital she sent out numerous mass emails with recital announcements, each email rambled on and on with new information. In order to get the information I needed for the day of the recital I had to shuffle through all of the emails because each one included a separate important detail. Had Jen been more cohesive and organized she could have easily streamlined all the info together into one weekly email instead of blowing up my inbox. Jen scheduled the recital for Mother's Day. Everything about the recital was disorganized and frustrating. I felt she was not being respectful with our time. I spent hours getting my dancer ready at home before leaving for the recital. We ended up being at the auditorium for 4+ hours. Jen ended the recital with 10 mins of her Competition Cheer and Dance team. They were absolutely amazing and totally wowed everyone. You can tell that this is what this studio specializes in and that this is where Jen's passion lies. I do not believe Jen's emphasis and passion is on traditional dance. I feel sad about spending a year here. My daughter is an amazing ballet and tap dancer. I believe the year we spent at Jen's did not add anything to my daughters overall dance skill level and it did not challenge or develop her in any way. In my opinion Jen is using her studio as a direct gateway to get new recruits for Competition Cheer and Dance. As a business woman I tip my hat to her and I hope she excels at this goal. As a mother who spent an entire year taking my daughter to dance lessons and has just spent my entire Mother's Day centered around a dance recital that had minimal effort put into it, I can emphatically say, I will not be attending this studio next year. I would caution anyone who is considering enrolling in a dance class to skip Jen's Dance Spot and instead try Trilogy, San Antonio Dance Academy, or Dorthy Keck.

I drove by the physical studio and it's no longer there. No email informing members that the studio closed down. No way to access online classes, I'm not even sure if there are online classes. The website's last COVID -19 update is dated 3/16/2020. I had to find out on YouTube that the physical studio is no longer and all classes are going virtual. Where can I access these classes? The link on the website says "online classes coming soon". I hope the owner reads this and becomes more transparent on all platforms.

In that case I would recommend the lessons at Azuca or anywhere else. If you are actually serious about learning how to dance salsa then this is the place you need to go. Semeneya is the best salsa studio in San Antonio and I don't think many would argue against that. Everyone that is in the salsa scene knows about it even if they are ambivalent towards it. The instructors are excellent and are friendly. It is very helpful and efficient that the classes are broken up into levels. I got up to level 3 and felt that the classes really improved my dancing. I think these classes are more important for guys that need to learn how to lead as opposed to girls. I feel like Semeneya does a good job of teaching guys how to be good leads which makes a huge difference while dancing with someone. Once you learn how to be a good follower you mostly just need practice. I like that they changed locations because it was really inconvenient to get all the way to the Northeast side of town where they were before. Semeneya people are like the cool kids of the salsa world so don't expect them to dance with you if you go to their socials or see them out at the salsa clubs. The guys only ask certain girls to dance and I'm sure the girls are the same.

The building is secured and you have to be buzzed in, which as a dance parent I appreciated. They offer classes to all abilities from recreational to serious ballet and even have a new musical theater track with an amazing instructor! There is a genuine camaraderie between the kids and the parents are warm and welcoming. As far as a dance community goes I could not ask for more! This school encourages dancer independence as preparation for more serious dance opportunities. This is something I think tends to take new families time to get used to but before you know it, you will be so impressed at how well your kids handle these responsibilities! Genuinely great kids at this studio!

It is not a good place and the quality is horrible. They're going out of business because they're literally Say that they're not gonna get rid of any of the good teachers, but they literally fired the only good teacher there because it didn't fit their vibe and everyone hated them for it and they're just horrible in general.
