I saw at least one hole on the back nine which should have had a fence around an area near the quarry with at least a 20 foot drop. Very cool design. The course was in great shape. I probably found this course more challenging than some of the others we'd played---at least based on my score. The course is well kept. Pace of play was good even though there was a group of women on top of us for many of the holes. I think we outran them in the final 2 holes. Easy parking. Close to the airport. They have a great clubhouse for food.

The resorts too highly of their course and doesn't really put in an effort to maintain the course. If you are local to San Antonio or traveling from out of town there is much better selection of courses outside of La Cantera

Played under a 4 hour pace and enjoyed all the amenities including the GPS in the cart and the frequent opportunities to eat and drink throughout the round. While similar to the Palmer Course (should be since they are adjacent) - Palmer course was in better condition tee to green and was more visually pleasing since it sits higher on the hills. The resort course does play next to Six Flags Fiesta which offered some interesting views as well but the Palmer course was a cut above for whatever its worth. One point of interest/annoyance... Opening hole is a 660+ yard par 5. It is significantly downhill with a prevailing downwind so I'm guessing it plays more like a 550 yard hole. While the hole itself is fun to play as you don't often get to see/play holes that look like that - any avid golfer will tell you that it takes a couple of holes/swings to groove oneself into a round. That's why a lot of golf architects start off courses with relatively modest length, easier holes to allow golfers to segue from the driving range into the round itself. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me to start the round goading a player in to swinging out of his/her shoes. Nothing good comes of that. Starting the round with a lost ball or an OB doesn't allow one to set a good tenor for the day. I'd consider swapping the 9s. But what do I know - I don't play on tour or run a course.

Texas got plenty of rain over the last few weeks which should have made the course pristine. There was overgrowth everywhere and grass cut in unnecessary areas. I literally lost a ball that we all seen down the middle. The first cut of the fringe was higher than you see in the tour, or even the Quarry course (if you're from here). There were actual flowers grown in the traps. Speak the trap, rock hard less than an inch down. They need to shut this course down for six months, and get it together, or either start paying people to play it vise the people wasting their money. I didn't see or play the Loma course today however on the drive out I could see that the #2 green was tore up like the green in my photo. Don't waste your money!

This course is one of the oldest courses in Texas and was the site of the Texas open. It was a cool chilly 60 degrees but it was fun! I used rental clubs and it amazed me how many holes I could play when the ball just rolled on the ground. I lost a ball but I never went into a bunker. YES! The carts have GPS and although I missed my range finder, it was still fun! It took a while but I eventually figured out the clubs and after that it was smooth sailing! I usually hit a draw but driver wanted to do a cut so after I gave up and let it do its thing, everything was great! They give out Callaway golf clubs. They told me the clubs were about 6 months old I played with someone that knew the course and I had fun as he informed me about the course history and Texas in general. 4 hour round and it was just an amazing, fun course. I wish I could have another try but this is a memory I won't forget. On the last hole, I was supposed to take one extra club and when I looked at club I used - uh oh, wrong club and into the water. But I hit it perfectly! I took more club, choked down and hit it to 3 feet. So for the conditions - there is a nice roll on the drives, the greens were aerated but still good. Very windy and it was fun to deal with the wind!!!! This is beautiful golf course with tons of history! Love this course! Thank you Brackenridge golf course!

My dad and I decided to give this place a shot after we saw they were newly opened. We set up a…read moretime on their website (super easy) and when we showed up they had an employee to help us get set up. The layout is pretty basic, just the four bays with places to relax behind them and a bathroom. For the owners, they could definitely benefit from a few vending machines! The software was really cool and let us do a little range warm up and then play a few different courses. It takes a little getting used to hitting in the simulator if you aren't familiar with it. Once you do though this is a great spot to get in some late night golf or when it's just too hot out! I am going to look into their memberships as well, from what the employee mentioned they have a lot of good perks.
