I think that this place does well because it is next to Party City. I stumbled upon Danzgear and was fascinated by all of its cute gymnastics and dance attire for young girls. My daughter takes gymnastics and while I believe she should look cute, cost is important to me as well. Her gym's outfits are roughly 10% more than Danzgear. Danzgear also has super cute accessories and bags for the dancer or gymnast. I am absolutely thrilled that I found this place and when I actually decided to buy her another suit, Danzgear will be the place!

My…read moreoldest daughter has been en pointe for awhile but hasn't found a particular shoe or brand that's her absolute favorite. Fitter Abby, also a dancer herself, took this into account and had her try on several pairs. She asked my daughter questions as to how her feet felt in each pair, how quickly she went up from flat feet, and allowed her to try on different pairs multiple times. She paused to help other customers as they came in, but did not rush us through. Our scheduled appointment took about 45 minutes, and I really feel like Abby genuinely cared about getting my daughter the best and most functional pair of shoes possible. The classes are advertised as 25 minutes, yet they consistently end early. The final straw was when I looked up from the lobby and saw my toddler..who isn't even three years old..walking out of class alone, completely unsupervised. She could have easily made her way out the main doors. I understand accidents can happen, but this is simply unacceptable. As a mother, I know you would understand the seriousness of a child's safety. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this studio due to the lack of supervision and accountability. I waited to get an Apology but instead the instructor Michelle emailed back with no remorse or apology and simply tried to say she handed me my daughter but she did not and Tara at the front desk saw the whole thing and have yet even emailed back with an acknowledgment/ apology. After going to my first class I was informed by my instructor that the shoes were too big for me. Luckily I removed them immediately and called them ! This is an enormous new dance clothing and shoes facility, right next to the Austin School of Classical Ballet and within a stone's throw of Walmart on Anderson. Size matters. It's not the coziest or even the most attractive place but they have serious room to grow. You could fit TEN of the old Movin' Easy store in this place. And there are several thoughtful and fun mini stages with mirrors for you to try out your clothing or shoes. Last time I visited Movin' Easy at its old location, service was excellent but there was only one person there. Today there were several service people and only one other customer. The clothing selection left me somewhat unimpressed. For example, one bubblegum pink girl's performance outfit was almost $200, and I know from experience that I can buy at least three fabulous tutus for that price on Etsy. Nevertheless, the opportunity to try things on before buying is beguiling and often more satisfying than opening a box.

I was one of five mothers that was trying to get stuff for dance. I will NOT be back. This store is a joke.
