When I started planning my wedding at this venue, they were making changes to management. They just hired a coordinating manager, Angela. Love her! She really worked hard to make sure my wedding went well. The had gotten a permit for me to have my wedding ceremony at the beach across the street months prior to my wedding. The week of, I got a call from Angela to tell me that she noticed they had started construction there... the permit only covers use of the landing and the city thought that was good enough... Angela made phone calls back and forth to secure a different landing down the street. Basically, if it wasn't for Angela noticing the construction AND calling around to fix my issue, my wedding ceremony would have had a construction site backdrop! We did have a little snag with the lights because I added icicle lights all the way around the room, but having them on with the existing lights and the DJ equipment and everything else blew the circuit. So they reset the breaker, and we just turned off the existing lights they had and it worked out beautifully. Honestly, though, it looked good even with just the existing lights. Loren, the dance direction and owner, can be a little difficult to work with. At least he was before Angela was hired. We had originally planned our wedding for Sunday because it was our dating anniversary, but we had to change it to the day before because of scheduling changes. But he didn't call me or my husband to let us know before we showed up with our DJ to sign contracts. I would have taken off a star for this, but I also would have given Angela an extra star for really going above and beyond for us so it averages out. And you can not beat the price for a beach wedding and nearby reception around here. Trust me. I've looked. ^_^ read more

It's a nice venue, with friendly instructors and other dancers as well. $8 cover and you get a lesson + dancing for the rest of the night. They have a little taco bar if you get hungry while dancing. I was going to give a great review, but ultimately after I heard how much struggle there was during my wedding day, I was going to give a 1 star review, but I figured at least 2 would be better than 1. Nov 2021, we booked with this venue for our wedding this May. It's not the associate's fault, but the printer was down and the contract was sent via email, which was fine. The only downside was that the contract is in a shared google doc that gets reused, so once the information has been input, they clear it for their next client- which brings me to the fact that I had not received a phone call or anything until I called the venue to check in to make sure if anything was needed- mind you, I had to call 2 months prior. To my surprise, there was a change in location of our ceremony. Thankfully, they only had to move it to the next beach down, but I wouldn't have known this until I had to call. It was stated that they had no way of contacting me because my info was erased once they signed a new client...when I look back in my phone, I saw we had exchanged text messages so the associate could've still contacted me. I let that go. Backtrack a little- during the signing of the contract, the associate was helpful in answering questions, but the owner asked way too many questions as if he didn't want us to sign because we weren't hosting our reception there. Since the contract was erased, it was hard to remember what was outlined and what wasn't, but verbally, we were told we had the bridal suite and the groomsmen could finish getting ready in the bar area. I, personally, will take accountability with the fact I had to change the time of the ceremony (which changed bridal suite time) so this is why I wanted to give a great review because the associate helping us made the exception to have us earlier in the bridal suite. The day before, I asked if it was ok if the groomsmen could get ready there since they were going to be there anyway and was told yes. Later getting a text message saying no...it seemed like the blame was being put on the owner (who wasn't) there, so I understood and said that's fine. My family, friends, and vendors didn't want me to stress so they didn't tell me about what was going on until now, of course, after the wedding. The day of the wedding- the same associate who helped us since the signing of the contract was there 15-20 min later than we were, but we entered the venue/bridal suite with no problem. She made our arch which looked beautiful (come to find out my officiator was the one who had to make some adjustments so that's why it turned out nice) and set up the chairs. As other reviews, that's pretty much it for help- setup of chairs and arch and music in the bridal suite. There was a gentleman who told us we needed to clean up after ourselves while inside the venue, which was understandable, but one of my family members was not addressed as friendly from that same individual asking to clean up. During the ceremony on the beach- the wedding was delayed 20 minutes due to sound/speaker. I was told the associate helping us made our DJ/MC and officiant move everything for whatever reason, when it was perfectly fine. I was told she was being rude and didn't want to help, so due to her request, they moved it themselves which caused the delay. My officiant noticed the drapes on the arch was not tight and the wind was picking up, so he kindly asked her to help tighten them so the drapes wouldn't cover anyone's face- she was upset by the request and didn't do it, so my officiant took initiative and did it himself. Not that it matters too much, but the associate also didn't dress as if she was setting up an event for a wedding. I understand it may be busy and tiring to setup the chairs, but at least jeans opposed to sweats would've been nice. The topper of it all was the placement of the sandbags on the arch. If our officiant and our best man didn't catch it, it would've landed/hit on me and my husband during the ceremony. For about 3 minutes, my dad and one of our groomsmen had to hold the arch so they can adjust the sandbags without disrupting the ceremony. You would think they would've place a sand bag on both the back and middle of the arch, but the placement of them were literally just in the middle...mind you again, she was asked by our officiant/wedding party that the placement of the sandbags weren't the best, but she didn't want to move it saying it was fine. Clearly not... Overall, the venue/contract includes beach permit which is nice, the bridal suite and inside venue which is nice, and supplies the chairs and arch, but overall customer service was not the best. read more

Do NOT go here. The owner is very rude and unprofessional. He is not a good communicator. I had a dance event that we agreed to hold monthly here. Everything went smoothly the first month. Less than a week before my second dance event he told me that I had to cancel or change the time. This was not what we agreed to. I had to frantically find a new location last minute. He played exactly what songs/music we asked for, cued the songs in and out as we asked, and kept people dancing the entire night. Friend had her wedding here over the weekend. The manager was rude slamming doors at the begining of the event. He lied about availability for actual wedding site, which was also changed several times. The day of the wedding the actual wedding site changed from what was told the day before. The site itself is nice but very warm, poor air conditioning, have to stand in certain spots to feel any air at all. The wait staff was nice. Weddings can be very stressful, this site just adds to the stress. Need better mananagement. read more

We love this venue! We've held our annual capoeira Batizado (graduation) in this location for 5 years. It's truly a hidden gem in Long Beach. We really like the high ceilings, the beautiful wood floors, mirrors, large fans, lighting, and there is a smaller room with bar area adjacent to the main room. There are tables and chairs available which make it great if you're holding a performance. The prices are very reasonable and the owner and staff have been reliable, flexible and very nice to work with. The beach is across the street (street and beach parking available), so it really doesn't get better than this! If you are looking for a space to hold a performance or event, we highly recommend this venue. read more

During the whole planning process, Jessica the event coordinator was helpful and friendly in what is normally a stressful process and time. On the day of, the venue was beautiful. The venue was newly painted and it brightened up the place a lot! The staff and set up was amazing. Would recommend for anyone who wants a beach wedding! I booked this venue for my wedding because of Jessica. She is a great event coordinator, and took a care of so many details I never would have thought of that made my wedding perfect! She put in so much time and effort and made my vision become a reality. I was planning the wedding myself and didn't think or know what should be done. She knew the right questions to ask and made the entire day flawless. I cannot thank her enough for working her butt off to make my and my husband's special day perfect. When my husband discovered this place we were pleased that they have several beach locations we could choose from for the ceremonies and of course we chose the peninsula which was more towards the end of the beach which gave that sense of privacy. We only wanted for a beach ceremony. We loved they were able to get the permit and allow chair rentals which was great! It was exactly what we were looking for. If you are DIY make sure to have people to help you. I hired a coordinator to help me and I'm glad I did he took care of when their coordinator was overwhelmed. We told her before our guest count was over the limit of the beach permit, but that no one comes to ceremony mostly the reception. However, when my coordinator told her about my guest count overall she sent a email, which we felt she was upset when reading it, saying she doesn't understand how we can have so many guests and of course charges us for 100 max people and a fee for the trouble of changing it due to it being on the beach. My coordinator handled it very professionally letting her know that 80 will be arriving as we agreed upon on contract. Sure enough the day comes and less than 80 guests arrived. Even though it can be stressful for the coordinator of the Chalet as well, I understood the frustration, however it could be dealt with more ease. Luckily, there were people there to help with any situations. The locations are beautiful and with a positive mindset this place does meet expectations. We did hire their recommended DJ Peter, since he knows the area and how to work the speakers and microphones on the beach. Of course its on the beach and they do tell you that its a public beach so people will be standing by watching or screaming in the background. read more

The reason I'm giving this venue only 2 stars is because they do pretty much nothing to help you.. Nice location (we got married on the beach) so it was a plus that they got the beach permit and they did the chair rental. But.. that's pretty much it. You get the venue for ONE day for however many thousands you pay. ONE DAY! Actually, 12hrs!! You get access at 12pm and you have to be out before 12am. We DIY'd most of our wedding so if you want to save on the headache and being rushed to clean up after you just had a great wedding celebration, hire a clean up crew. Jessica becomes very pushy as well, and tries to rush the clean up. Mind you, you JUST had a wedding.. Also, it seemed like such a hassle to them when we asked to use their wedding arch for the ceremony; they had to move it out there for us and after the ceremony, move it back into the venue for the reception. We decorated the arch and everything starting at 12pm the day of our wedding. If you don't use their DJ Peter A, you can't use the speakers that are clearly there in the venue. Bar? All you. Decorations? All you. It's nice that the caterer April Berg sets up the tables and stuff for you, and she was actually very helpful throughout our wedding. Pretty much, they really don't like to do anything. You pay X amount of money for ONE DAY to setup and breakdown. Yes, after the reception we cleaned everything up.. and Jessica rushed us. I have nothing to hide because I was SUPER disappointed dealing with them, but I was already locked in. I just want everyone to know the truth. Btw all these pictures of the venue all set up (here on Yelp and on their Instagram) has NOTHING to do with them, renters put in all the time and money to make it look good. And to tell you the truth, my wedding photos are the last 6 photos on their Instagram. Those are NOT rental Star Wars people so if they try to tell you they have some type of hook up for that, NO. We are professionals, and those are my brethren. All the Star Wars stuff was my husband and I. The cake? They had NOTHING to do with that. In the end, if you're content renting a place for x amount of dollars for ONE DAY, you get ONLY the venue, then ok be my guest and meet with them.. but I would suggest going elsewhere.. Trust, we DIY'd the shit out of our wedding.. I could've just rented a nice beach side AirBnB and had the same damn thing for cheaper, without all the headaches. read more

This is a hidden gem. I've been working with this studio for years. They are currently renovating and are not only doing dance classes but also catering to receptions. Don't judge a book by its cover. When the tables and linen are out this place looks great. They are currently fixing up both bathrooms. The owner and his staff are easy to work with and the prices are very reasonable. They also have an in house caterer and Dj that are reasonably priced. read more

My sister had her vows renewed here just this month. We thought that everything was going to be as she was told it would be, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Do to the number of guest she had invited to her special day, the event took place at the beach, which was the ceremony and venue. Before the day of the event my sister was told that everything was going to be setup and ready by the time she got there, but that wasn't true. When she arrived at the beach where the event was going to take place, she and I saw that the tent and tables weren't even setup as told by Kimberly the Belmont Shore Chalet Coordinator. My sister almost had a heart attack,( no joke) if it wasn't for the guest and family who helped out with setting up the tables - she wouldn't had made it out of the room where she was getting ready at. Imaging driving 2.5 hours to get to this place and this happens on your special day - Really? Thanks to our guest and family this event turned out to be GREAT. This is the reason of my 1 star I would say more, but I'll just leave it at that. read more
