My now wife and I had a smooth process from starting from our intial walk through until the event ended on the wedding day. The historic building Ebell Long Beach is nestled in the heart of the city, and it's probably one of the most breathtaking vintage venues in the area. It's known for its stunning architecture, rich history, and elegant ambiance, although parking could be challenging. You can book the venue alone, but they also have onsite catering service available. I like the style of the building and its decorations inside, the high ceilings and chandeliers are so beautiful and stylish. This venue is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES to shoot weddings at. the vibe, the architecture, the staff. it's all amazing. one thing I love about venues as a photographer is the efficiency of space. having to move all over the place takes up precious time. especially photographically. but Ebell Long Beach doesn't have this issue. with the ceremony space in the main atrium (which gets converted to the cocktail hour and reception space after) and the dinner space in the adjacent room, you dont have to worry about you and your guests having to navigate to multiple areas. if you're looking for an elegant and timeless location I would hands down recommend booking here. then hitting me up and booking me to shoot it lol cause I could shoot here every weekend if I could. that's how much I love it. read more

Getting married here was a dream come true. First of all, the Ebell team was extremely easy to work with. Katie and Jen were responsive, kind, and helpful! Their vendor recommendations list was also great! The Tres LA catering and drinks were delicious. The short rib was melt in your mouth luxurious, and they have a wonderful hors d'oeuvres selection. They also were extremely accommodating and helped us make our menu almost entirely gluten-free! The wait staff and bartenders were extremely professional and the timing of the food was impeccable! They have gotten the flow of weddings down to an art form here. The event seamlessly transitions through spaces and the staff changes the rooms over without anyone even noticing. Lastly, the whole venue is unique, charming, and full of character. Replete with high ceilings, modern chandeliers, abundant natural light, vibrant greenery, and beautiful tile work, the central courtyard is truly stunning. The parlor feels like a welcoming living room that is full of character, with eclectic art and comfortable seating, and even a working piano. We had our wedding at the Ebell this past July and we couldn't say more great things. The venue is so beautiful, the catering / bar team is amazing and provides a fantastic product. Our favorite part about the Ebell is how turn key it is, but at the same time how they will customize for your event. Without any additional decor, the venue is spectacular as is. But the team will work with you to customize in any way shape or form that you and your partner desire, and will ensure the space looks exactly how you imaged on wedding day. The Ebell team is extremely well organized, easy to work with, swiftly answers all questions, and does so all with a smile. The Food and drink were fantastic, we loved joining the tasting party and meeting other couples leading up to the event - the menu was vast and we were able to select some wonderful food that really added to the vibe of our event. Overall, would strongly recommend the Ebell for other couples - this is truly a unique, modern, yet classy venue - that will meet you where you are. Had the pleasure of attending a wedding at this venue. Beautiful space. 1920's historic building, revamped to look timeless with a modern twist. Spanish inspired design with the tiles, archways, & exposed brick. The entire event is at their indoor courtyard. From ceremony to reception. Their team did an amazing job with the transformation. After the ceremony, guests were whisked away into the cocktail room (old library vibes with leather couches & a good mingling space) while they transitioned the chairs into the dining room & left the courtyard open for the dancing & other festivities. Very unique venue for events. Seems costly. Lol. Only con is parking. We were advised to carpool / Uber to the venue because it is located in a neighborhood with very limited street parking. Also found out the church across the street allows parking, not sure if it's through the venue or people just assumed so. read more

Had our wedding this past October at the Ebell. It was perfection and then some. My husband and I had been discussing marriage/wedding things prior to being engaged, and when we talked about what venues we would be interested in, we knew we wanted it to be local and unique. When we both came across the Ebell (which is conveniently a five minute drive for us), we were in love (with the venue, but like, obviously with each other too). A few months later we got engaged and booked a tour of the Ebell. We met with Jen, who from the start was so warm and welcoming and fun to talk to. When I tell you pictures don't do this place justice, I mean it (and the pictures of this place are already BEAUTIFUL). Each room in the venue is different and has its own vibe. We left convinced it was our spot. We even toured another place after, had other appointments scheduled to tour other venues, but we knew after seeing it that this is where we wanted to be, so we dropped the rest and booked asap. Booking the venue was a breeze. Throughout the whole planning process Jen was amazing and so responsive. Any questions we had, she answered them promptly. Once you book, you are provided with a recommended vendor list, which I'm so grateful for! It was also so easy to connect with Jen in the event we wanted to stop by to look at the venue, or do a tasting. Cut to about 1.5 months before the day, and we met up with Katie, who went through the day of planning with us and clarified any questions/provided suggestions on how to make our event run smoothly. It put a lot of the day into perspective and it was awesome to be able to play it all out prior to the day of. Finalizing everything was relatively easy as well and Jen and Katie were so professional and easy to communicate with. On the day of, everything was legitimately perfect. I walked into my wedding day anticipating certain things could be off, or something could go wrong (I've been to so many weddings in the past to know these were possibilities, lol). Alas, literally nothing did. The service was impeccable, staff was so friendly and accomodating, and the event ran so incredibly smooth timewise. Friends and family had nothing but nice things to say about the venue, the ambiance, and the service and food. It's been almost a month and I am still reeling about the day and how the Ebell was the perfect venue to personify our day. It was ~vibes~ for sure. Hosted our wedding in March of this year and we're blown away by the service we received. We were lucky enough to work with Jenn mostly and day-of coordination with Katie. They were both so professional and eager to answer any and all questions we had. Their prices aren't the cheapest , but are completely justified by the level of service from start to finish. Previously before getting married, I had helped to coordinate wedding at Ebell and instantly knew afterwards that it was the perfect wedding venue for our future wedding! Fast forward a year later and we find ourselves in the middle of a pandemic. When Ebell opened again for tours, we knew we had to visit ASAP in order for us to be able to book a date. Marianne was extremely helpful at the beginning of the process and once we turned in our contract, we had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jen. Throughout the process, Jen, Matt and Katie were timely and effective with their communication, and put to rest any worries or concerns we had. On our wedding day, Katie, Gogo, and the whole staff were rockstars! They made the day run seamlessly and smoothly. The Ebell Long Beach is romantic, elegant, and unique. From the moment we walked inside the building, we knew it had to be our venue (I actually thought it was going to be perfect based on photos alone, and seeing it in person only confirmed things for me!). After visiting, I could not picture getting married anywhere else, and I knew we had to book the Ebell. It photographed beautifully and set the tone for a perfect day. From the breathtaking ceremony hall with the cool tile work, to the special "green room" where you will take the most romantic photos of the day, to the parlor with the quirky, vintage décor, I can't say enough glowing things. And our guests also gave the venue rave reviews, which only went to make us feel even more assured in our venue decision. An added bonus is that the building has history (it was a 1920's women's philanthropic club), and you can tell. The vintage feel of the building is felt throughout the décor, light fixtures, wallpaper, etc. Jen and the Tres LA team were great to work with, and the food was very good (from what I ate, which wasn't all that much because we were so busy seeing people. Brides, remember to eat if you can!). Tres LA even worked with us on certain tweaks to the menu to fit our desires (I highly recommend the ice-box shot desserts). They have great relationships with vendors, and we particularly found their list of recommended vendors to be useful. A few notes: It is not a huge venue -- I'd say 200 people is the most you can fit comfortably. We had 200, and I was worried it would be too tight, but it ended up being just the right amount of cozy. Also, there are certain rules about moving furniture (which you really can't do), confetti/sparklers, etc. that are a little limiting due to the nature of the venue. It wasn't an issue for me, but if you want an "anything goes"-type venue, that's just something to keep in mind. read more

The space is amazing! Some might say some areas may a little outdated, but I say it has its own little charm. Beautiful venue, but the parking situation leaves for a one less star review. You either have the option of street parking (if you're lucky) or parking in the church parking lot a block away. However, you have to park at your own risk. And if you do park in that lot, time is very limited. I felt like the reception had to be cut shorter than I expected because of all of us who did park in that lot had to move our cars. They use Tres LA catering services. I had the pleasure of being a part of my brother's tasting menu and helped decide to final menu items for the big day. The director was a delight. She was so friendly and lovely. At first, choosing options from the tasting menu definitely felt a little overwhelming and extensive, but honestly, it's better to have more options to choose from than to have very little. The food on their big day was delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked. Overall, the venue was spectacular - from the distinguished parlor and to all the suites. Loved the gorgeous architecture accented by beautiful chandeliers and vibrant greenery! There are not enough compliments in the world to express how amazing Ebell Long Beach is. I recently had my wedding there in October. We booked a year & a half in advance (they book quickly, & for good reason). When I first stepped in, it was so dreamy. You really don't need to do much as far as decor because the space itself is gorgeous. They have a bunch of vintage furniture & a mix of Spanish architecture, etc. just beautiful. There is no other venue with as much character as Ebell Long Beach. As a bride, I really wanted a nice bridal suite. Let me tell you! Their's is gorgeous-- fit for a queen. Even the bathroom is beautiful (one of the reasons I booked is for the iconic green bathroom photo). Jen of Tres L.A. was great to work with. She was always on top of things and willing to make all my dreams come true! Literally. The entire staff was a joy to be around. Our wedding went by so smoothly & my guests were impressed with how helpful everyone was. All in all. This review is for their caterer. One star because there's no option to give zero. If you want your guests to be treated rudely by the head/captain waiter named JOSHUA, this is the place to hold your special day. We attended our cousin's wedding here. Unfortunately, the coordinator made a mistake of not listing the name of another cousin who registered few months back. Because of this, waiters did not serve him food. My husband then approached JOSHUA asking why our cousin didn't get food and this head waiter said that he wasn't registered and that they'll wait for everyone who registered first to get food and if there are leftovers they'll give him one. My husband stressed out that his cousin registered and this was an error made by the coordinator. Common sense, when you are working in a customer service industry, the way to handle this is to reach out to the coordinator to straighten things out. Apparently, this guy doesn't have it (common sense) if this just can be bought, I could've bought a lot for him. He said he was just following orders...very lame excuse...who's giving him these "orders"?!!! Well, he could've approached that person to tell the situation...and so I asked "Don't you have a 10% buffer?"..he seemed pissed with my question that he turned his back on me and raised one hand as if saying "talk to the hand"...so I made a comment "so rude!", he then confronted me with mean remarks. This made my husband really mad that he stood up and started the altercation. This guy did not apologize, in fact, after a few minutes he again approached my husband with another non sense comments which seemed like he's provoking my husband to act violently so they could escort him out of the venue. My husband just yelled at him to leave. Three elders in our group got really scared, my mother-in-law even had a panic attack, so our group of 7 just walked out during the wedding reception. We, opting to leave and not continue to witness our cousin's wedding day just to avoid more altercation with that JOSHUA says a lot about this rude guy, actually "rude" is still an understatement to describe him, that's how bad his manners are. Apparently, this guy knows NOTHING about customer service!!!! Sorry (not really), this place just lost a potential customer who could've brought 300 guests to their venue for their daughter's upcoming 18th birthday. read more

Extremely horrible horrible customer service. Jen is an absolutely awful person to work with. Do NOT book your wedding here. The venue was booked for our preferred date and Jen decided to tell us an hour before our venue tour. She knew that we were interested in that specific date only, but we had limited availability for viewing. I would have appreciated a heads up that someone either wanted that date or that it was no longer available much earlier than she had given us. I then attempted to speak with Rob regarding my issue with Jen. After explaining that the lack of availability last week was due a severe family illness, Rob proceeded to tell me how "this year has been hard for everyone" and how he lost people due to COVID. I'm not sure what that has to do their inability to properly communicate regarding booking, but somehow Rob made an issue surrounding my family into something about himself. In addition to that, he continued to speak over me in a condescending tone. He also mentioned that he would give me a call back after looking into the issue, but he didn't. Both Rob and Jen had mentioned that their booking system was never an issue for previous prospective clients, but that is not true. I read a review that was quite similar. If these are the type of people you want at your wedding, I fully recommend Ebell Long Beach. read more

Our experience at Ebell Long Beach was wonderful! Jen was our venue/catering coordinator throughout the entire process. She was polite, professional, and prompt in responding to all of our questions. The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for. It was bright and open with a feeling of fresh sophistication. The architecture and attention to detail was quite impressive. We made several adjustments to our menu after attending a private tasting. Once those adjustments were made and the importance of certain dishes stressed we, and our guests, were thrilled with the food and beverage service. A few weeks prior to our wedding there was a snafu with guest parking, but Jen was quick to trouble shoot and generously offered to provide a signature cocktail at no additional charge. A few days later the parking situation was resolved and Jen still followed through with the signature cocktail. All in all we'd rate our experience 5 stars! The lounge area with the piano was nice too. That open space when u walk in is pretty. We had our wedding at the Ebell of Long Beach this past September. The venue is stunning and feels like you've been transported to a European city. When my now husband and I walked in, we completely fell in love with the venue. Everything from the mosaic tiling on the floor to the greenery all around the venue. It has a vintage feel and wonderful natural lighting to give an outdoor vibe. We received tons of compliments from guests on how beautiful the venue was. We didn't even bring much decor or rent any furniture because the venue is gorgeous on it's own and comes with a ton of furniture, tables, chairs. Definitely keep that in mind when checking out venues. In terms of working with the venue, I worked closely with Jen, Sharen, and Andrea. We had a hiccup in the beginning since we had a different catering manager when we first booked. But we were able to resolve. Overall, it was very easy to work with the venue and Tres LA, everyone was super organized (which I love). We went to a free tasting for booked couples and it was a great experience to try the food, experience the service, and meet other couples. At the wedding the food was fantastic and the service was great, I have guests that went for seconds (may even thirds?) since we had a buffet. LOL. This venue is FANTASTIC. The people -- We first booked this venue in 2019, planning for a 2020 wedding, which was delayed due to the pandemic. The team at Ebell Club Long Beach was so kind, gracious, and cooperative, working with us to find a new date in 2022. Jen, the director, is responsive, helpful, and enthusiastic! The space -- The venue is just breath-taking. It is the ONLY venue I found that was indoors, but had natural light and felt like you were outdoors. It feels like you're in an atrium. The architecture, the colorful tiles, the greenery (that is included!), and the chandeliers are all gorgeous. So many of our guests were stunning, saying they had never been to a wedding like ours! We had 130 guests and there was plenty of space - we had planned for 200 guests. The parlor is a great space for some guests to sit and relax while others are out on the dancefloor! The food -- The food is BY FAR the best I have had at a wedding, and I'm not biased! All of our guests kept commenting on how amazing the food was - even my parents' pickiest family friends were impressed! Chef Adam is absolutely incredible. There are so many options to choose from and we were able to easily accommodate the dietary restrictions of our guests. The service -- The night went by perfectly smooth and seamless! The staff at the Ebell Club Long Beach are 100% professional. We asked that the servers wear masks and I was very impressed that all of them complied. Our guests also made a point to comment on how great the service was - including the bartenders! The logistics - This venue includes tables, chairs, plates, cutlery, glasses in the cost for the venue/catering, so that you don't have to rent anything (except for linens), which REALLY saves money and headache with coordinating! Was so fortunate to have attended (and been a part of) a wedding that took place at Ebell Long Beach and was absolutely captivated by this gorgeous Moroccan-style venue. This venue features: -Separate rooms for both brides and groom to get ready (bridal suite is HUGE, well-lit, and perfect for photos) -Separate rooms for appetizer, pre-party events -Alcohol bar with ample room for set-up -Separate hall for sit-in proper dining -Separate room for dessert/tea/coffee/cake -Separate area for dancing/DJ -Separate rooms for guests to sit Service and food was impeccable. Servers stayed on top of it throughout our 7 hour event. Your photographer will have a grand time taking photos in this place so make sure to show them around the entire venue prior to your event so they are able to capture moments in each of the well designed and themed rooms and halls. My wife and I have been fascinated with the Ebell Club as a Long Beach landmark even before we were engaged, but once we were, we knew that it would be on the short list of preferred venues for our wedding. In fact, it was on such short of a list that it was the first venue we visited & after an hour we were already signing the paperwork and making deposits for our wedding 15 months later! Booking time to view it with Jen was super easy, and when we finally met she was so helpful and charming, as we bonded over our shared love of live music and craft beer while she showed us around the venue. She didn't need to do any hard selling as she already knows that the Ebell really sells itself, and could tell how in love with the place we were as soon as we walked through the doors. Over the course of the year we made our arrangements with our vendors, with a few of them coming off of Jen's list (most notably the Pop the Champagne planning crew!), and were always reaching out to Jen to address questions we had as we were getting everything organized. She got us placed into a Night Out group tasting, and helped arrange for our private tasting after we combed through the EXPANSIVE TresLA catering menu (also a HUGE plus there, not having to worry about searching for catering, dinnerware, etc. as the Ebell handled that in-house) to curate what we hoped to be our final menu for our guests. We also got a chance to meet Chef Adam at these tastings, who was so friendly and unbelievably modest about our ravings *at* him about the cuisine we were enjoying--I swear if we made anything at home that tasted 1/1000th as good as what we had on our wedding day menu then no one would ever hear the end of it. They were even able to make very slight adjustments to the menu before the wedding to ensure that we and all of our guests would have a perfect evening. At our venue walkthrough with our coordinator we were finally introduced to Katie, who had already been helping us with all of the event details in the last few weeks of planning as everything was coming together with our vendors and final guest count. Katie was on top of everything, working in concert with our coordinator every step of the way, and getting us situated with our rehearsal once our families were in town and confirming our checklist for everything we had planned to have on the floor and around the space. (She even helped secure some pre-ceremony drinks for my friends and me the day of the wedding due to a slight delivery snafu, which was very cool of her to do.) And speaking of securing drinks, Brad the beverage director was incredibly helpful in getting some select beers that we liked included in our bar package that we had in mind for our guests to enjoy. It went a long way for making our friends and family super comfortable while there...we knew they'd be wearing their proverbial drinking pants, especially at the first wedding in a long time for many of them, so it was awesome to have them get loose on the juices they are familiar with. We wanted to also shout out the amazing kitchen staff for how incredible the food was, and especially for the gargantuan task of scaling up such a particular and delicious menu to meet the needs of close to 100 people, and getting it all out in a timely manner. The servers were wonderful and unbelievably friendly, as were the bartenders who worked tirelessly to keep the drinks pouring, particularly the signature cocktails that seemed to be a huge hit by all standards based on what our friends and family had told us. The Ebell really is a dreamscape come to life. From the lush greenery, to the tilework, to the rich wood-lined dining room, to the impeccably appointed parlor area, everything about it is perfect, and that includes everyone that we worked with and met along the way there and throughtout the whole TresLA group. After a romantic engagement in Paris, we seriously just chanced upon this magical location for our wedding while driving around one Sunday afternoon. Walking through the front doors, we felt transported to another place and time. With its colorful Moroccan tile layout across the large main area, exposed balconies above and playful chandeliers artfully hanging from the high rafters to their groovy cocktail room filled with antique furniture and the grand piano and the stunning dining room with its huge fireplace - it was perfect for our Parisian Literary themed wedding!! Tres LA (the owner and catering company) let us do a food drive-by a couple of weeks later, and we were sold! The food is so delicious! We hired the amazingly efficient Danielle of Orange Blossom Special Events to be our day-of planner. And fun and very talented Kathy DeNinno of Kathy DeNinno Photography to shoot the event. Showcase DJ did a great job playing our music. Our friend, Lindsey Hunley played jazz during cocktail hour at the grand piano. And Centia Batz of Petal - created the floral arrangements of my dreams! You can even bring your own art and photographs to personalize decorations. Plus, the bridal suite looks like a Parisian apartment. We loved hanging out there drinking champagne. October 8th was the BEST DAY of our lives! Everyone gushed over the eclectic happy space and the great food. We danced the night away. The only small thing was a little difficulty getting the bathroom stocked with tissues that night. The site manager said it wasn't their responsibility. Luckily, my best friend had created baskets of toiletries for the event, so it wasn't a problem. We found the rest of the Ebell staff very friendly and professional. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend the Ebell if you're looking for a warm, welcoming space that's beautiful and old-fashioned but especially unique! We're SO HAPPY! read more

We had our wedding here two weeks ago and we couldn't be happier with the experience! The Ebell is truly a hidden gem, and the team of people running it are as helpful as it gets. We worked with Jen and Andrea throughout our planning process, and they were both so kind and patient. Of course, there are some points to consider when booking The Ebell. They don't allow confetti or flower petals, they don't allow loitering in front of the building, they don't allow shots or liquor to be served neat (only on the rocks or in a cocktail). But a lot of venues we found had their own sticking points, and what The Ebell brought to the table made up for the few restrictions they had. A few things we loved about this place: - The team. They are extremely kind and patient. I had a million questions and they happily answered them all. Jen also has a great skill for remembering details about each couple, so that was great too. It makes you feel welcomed, rather than like a burden to the staff (which we experienced early on at other venues). - The curfew. A lot of venues have super early curfews, but The Ebell allows you to party a little later than most on Saturday nights! - The food. We had tried some food at the open house and the Night Out tasting, and to be honest we were a bit apprehensive. But we talked through our concerns with Jen, and she promised to relay it to the kitchen staff. Come December 2nd, the food was on a whole new level. Everything was cooked and seasoned the way we wanted it, and we actually received a lot of positive feedback from our guests as well! In addition to all of the above, nothing beats driving through a sleepy Long Beach neighborhood, only to walk through double doors into a beautifully tiled courtyard. My husband and I had our wedding at the Ebell and the staff was so helpful throughout the entire process...they really ensured things would run smoothly - and it did! The day of the wedding, the venue was in tip-top shape and stunning! And lets not forget that bridal suite - SWOON! So stunning for photos! The venue suited our style to a T and I really wouldn't have had our wedding anywhere else! If I could do it again, I would in a heartbeat at the Ebell of LB! And to the people who left bad reviews - weddings at a venue in America are expensive and beautiful venues are very competitive. If you really love the venue (as most people LOVE the Ebell), it'll be worth the work you put into it and hoops you *might* have to jump through. This venue is worth it! read more

This is a review for a wedding event held at Ebell with Tres LA catering. It will cover the planning process, food, staff, and wedding day experience. We both fell in love with the place and new we wanted to book it. It has so much character and is beautifully detailed every where you look. Jen lead the initial tour and answered all our questions. There was about a 4 day delay getting a response back in the beginning, but it was understandable since it was the beginning of events opening back up and the flood of couples from 2020 and 2021 were booking weddings. As the weeks went by, Jen and Katie were very responsive, organized, and timely with all the necessary info, reminders, and answers to our questions. A little tip to save money, try to pay by check or money wire to avoid the credit card fee. Ok back to the review. Fast forward to the wedding day...we were very pleased. So many of our guests loved the wedding and said things went pretty smoothly. The staff were very polite and were on top of getting out the appetizers to the guests. They didn't feel like they had to wait around for a long time. During reception, it was nice to see how synchronized staff were in serving everyone. We had our own personal server that tended to us and was so nice about getting anything we needed in our suit and didn't raise an eyebrow to any of our requests...like seconds on appetizers haha they were so good! The bridal suit was stocked with champagne and water for our bridal party. Bartenders were also sweet to congratulate us. We really felt special and pleased with the whole evening. Tres La catering knows how to present elegant dining. Everything had a beautiful touch to its presentation. We were a little disappointed in the portion of meat. We had rib eye and we were expecting a whole steak, but it was 3 slices of steak. I still felt satisfied, though less than what was expected. The cake took a little while to be served since they were clearing out drinks and plates. Some guests still wanted their drinks. I think I would have liked to have the cake already sliced and ready to go as we were cutting our tired cake. Maybe that's something to keep in mind when planning to note for them. Overall, this is a beautiful and elegant venue that has a lot of character. Well trained staff that is organized and polite. I would do it all over again. When I first stepped through the unassuming doors of this venue to see if it would be a good option for my wedding, I felt the way I imagine you feel when you find your Harry Potter wand. Like, I was absolutely in shock at how beautiful it was. We looked at a few more venues after that, and many of them were gorgoeus, but none of them made us feel that same way. We also had multiple guests say this was the coolest wedding venue they have seen. It's so cozy, quirky, but still elegant and impressive. And OMG JEN IS AMAZING. Jen is my favorite. Don't tell any of my other vendors. Jen is the best -- so organized, so fun, great taste. The food is awesome too. We requested a bread pudding bar (I know, we're awesome, feel free to steal the idea) and it was our favorite bread pudding of our lives, especially the double chocolate one. read more

I've been trying to get in contact with this location since August 2020. I have called, used their inquire page on their website, and reached out using third party wedding apps. But I haven't gotten any response. My parents are coming from the East Coast to view the venue next week because when they bought tickets out here 3 months ago we all really thought Ebell would have reached out by now to schedule a viewing. In the past 2 month I have sent 2 inquire requests via their website, called once a week every week, and used "the knot" to reach out to them. But no acknowledgment whatsoever. It's just really frustrating and hurtful bc honestly the venue looks beautiful. I can't imagine dealing with this kind of lack of communication when they have my non-refundable deposit. read more

It was love at first sight. Corny, yes I know. But literally, It was love at first sight. My fiancé and I came to check out the Ebell Long beach on a whim. The moment we walked in and looked around, we looked at each other and just knew we had to make our promises to each other here. Sharen was literally the BEST and most enjoyable to work with as she was personable, knowledgable and very responsive (It's safe to say that she played a big part in our decision to say YES to the Ebell LB) Sharen, if you're reading this, we miss you girl~ We decided to cater with Tres LA (food & bar package) and to this day our guests are telling us about how much they loved the food and drinks! Others might consider the venue and catering package to be a bit on the "pricier" side (that is if you don't have a money tree in your backyard) but it was well worth it for us rather than going with independent vendors. We wanted specific things to be our priority and the venue, food and bar were some of them. During our tasting, we had some concerns about a few appetizers, which we were able to voice to the chef for accommodations. Writing this review means that our wedding is over and a part of me wishes it wasn't over yet. Perhaps that is why I've been delaying writing this too. Our wedding day was truly one of the best days of our lives and having it at the Ebell LB and working with all the staff definitely was a major contributing factor. I was searching for a venue and my (now)husband says I have the tendency to make up things that don't exist, well I found a venue that conjured my dreams! My wedding took place in May 11th. The entire experience was top notch from the second I visited for a tour to the very end. Venue photos do not do justice for how beautiful everything is. Any addition or decoration just enhances what is already gorgeous. I worked with Jen MacLean from the very beginning, she is absolutely fantastic to work with. Quick to respond, and patient. She deserves a special shout out because we had a few hiccups and she was able to accommodate. The venue manager, Andrea is great to work with also. She accepted all my changes last minute was very clear on what needed to be done. The catering by Tres LA is amazing. I LOVED the food, my friends and family LOVED the food. I don't know anyone who would say anything negative about it. The final bill was a very tough cookie to swallow but worth every penny and I have no regret. You definitely pay but you are getting quality! Thank you Jen, Andrea, Ebell and Tres LA for giving me the wedding I never thought I deserved.
