A lot of libraries are closed on Sundays so I LOVEEEEE that I found CV library because they are one of two that are actually open (1-5pm!). Walking in through the double doors there's bathrooms to the right and then you have to walk thru another set of open doors and the library is split in two - on the left side is the "adult side" and the right side is the kids/teenagers side. I love how it is split up for noise level reasons and how organized it is. They also have rooms that you can rent to study in and plenty of tables and computers. At some of the tables they have community puzzles and adult coloring books, and charging stations for plug ins. I sat at a table that was propped against the open windows and had a great snowy view. I will definitely be here more often!

While this isn't Chicago's Newberry Library or The Library of Congress, if you can't find something, the librarians will find it, look for it or order it for you and, help you with general questions and the copier hiccups. Some recent renovations, large parking lot, eager to help staff; have kids, teen and adult programs to suit almost everyone. Meeting rooms are available. One negative, the former drive by drop off for returns was discontinued - a decidedly unwelcome inconvenience, especially for those who are mobility challenged. Maybe they relocated the drop off; I admit that I didn't think to check for another drive by drop off. Regardless of that, as a result of the new inconvenience, loss of one (1) star in the rating. If I become aware there is a new drive thru drop off, I will revisit my rating.

Outside of the event, I went to explore the library itself because it was my first time at the Montague Branch location. The majority of the library is on the second floor, while the bathrooms and meeting room(s) are on the first floor (the floor you walk into from the parking lot). My experience on the inside was 5 stars and great. There were people studying together at a table, there were kids working quietly on the computers in the computer room, there was a guy by himself reading a book. Everyone was respectful of each other's space and noise levels while I was there. The two library assistants I met were happy to have me there and even happier to help me find what I needed or was looking for. They answered all my questions and especially notified me that if I felt I didn't fit all the requirements for an event that I should still show up and register to join! I definitely recommend this place. Many people have told me it's one of the oldest branches but its definitely their favorite branch! The only major downside I have from my visit here is that parking spaces are few! So, if you're someone who doesn't have a car this is a great place for you, I feel. But bringing lots of people with cars might be a problem. There's a tiny parking lot and then fend for yourself on the streets with street parking and what not. I definitely do recommend giving it your own feel through and see for yourself if you like this location or not. I, for sure, want to come back and maybe study in the corner by myself some day. :)

I'm not much of a 'shopper' but the square has a little bit to offer just about everyone. We've also enjoyed their farmer's market and festivities. Monroe, Wisconsin is an adorable town in Middle America with a quaint small town feel, and a…read morewonderful town square. The historic courthouse sits in the middle of the square and reminds me of a castle in a fairy tale. It is composed of red brick with white brick accents and looks like it belongs in the movie It's A Wonderful Life. The Limburger Rebellion was actually fought on the steps of the courthouse which apparently blazed the trail towards notoriety in the cheese industry. I kid you not. There is a vibrant shopping area surrounding the square with a variety of local businesses. There are a number of artsy statues surrounding the square that are just plain fun. There is plenty of open space with plenty of room to hold community events such as concerts, farmers' markets, chili cookoffs and other festivals. Every other year (held in even years) there is a large celebration called the Green County Cheesedays Celebration which takes place in the town square. http://www.cheesedays.com/ If you're anywhere in the area, this is a fun place to visit, full of small town charm and good clean fun!

The Roscoe Post Office is a local fixture. If you have any choice, this is the Post Office to come…read moreto. Everyone is helpful and goes out of their way to get you the service that you need in the best way possible. Staff are always friendly, even if the lines are long, like around Christmas. If issues arise with unusual services, they will track them down and pursue resolution. They make themselves accountable, which doesn't happen anymore. The staff will even remember you, a nice, small town touch. But -- much of what is done in this Post Office is done exceptionally well. Staff go above their duties and job descriptions to provide superlative service that feels personal. Much appreciated. Thank you.
