Not super big but if you can't find what you're looking for, you can always request it to be sent here, or find it on one of their huge online databases. This location has a good amount of computers available for use and also uses self-checkout kiosks that are really handy and efficient. Love the service this library provides and would definitely recommend it.

You will need to sign up for these, and you can do it online. You can use it longer for 30min if no one signs up for your room after your time is up. That rarely happens but we've been lucky a few times. I also believe it was one of the better dvd collections on TV series. And, some of it goes back to the 80s. There are complete sets of Star Trek, including the original series from the 60s. When you enter the library, to the immediate left is the bookstore where you can buy donated books or books the library no longer need. There is a wide and vast collection here. Definitely something for everyone and anyone. Further down to the left is the cafe where you can sit in there if you order something. Wifi is available through the library as well as the cafe. That makes it a nice place to chill while surfing online. To the very back is the children's books. There are educational toys there too. Plus, educational dvds that can help your child learn in a fun way from reading and writing, math, science and sounds. The staff here is exceptionally kind and friendly. They do not have the hard nose attitude as most librarians have. And, that's why we loved coming here. The problem here is the parking. It can get very tight with many cars pulling in and out. And that's what makes it really difficult is there is only one way in and one way out. During the busy times I've seen cars get stuck bc they were trying to maneuver the limited space. With all that going on it still does not hinder us coming here. It's a good library.

Located only about a mile away from Anderson Japanese Gardens, The Rockmen Guardians are a very…read moreunique but hard to find set of sculptures. Locations on different websites are a bit misleading, some directing you far away from the actual sculptures which are southwest of the Nicholas Conservatory along the Rick Rive Rec Bike Path. It's not too far from the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, and you can park somewhat close to them but will still need to walk a bit. This is worth the adventure of discovering the spot though, as I'm not sure anything similar exists nearby. For me, as a big video game fan, these really gave me the feeling of being surrounded by giant stone warriors - except that you can take a picture with them. With the river in the background, you can get lots of beautiful pictures with them as a quartet, though you also want some closeups to get some of the finer details. Throughout the armor, there's definitely a mix of different colors and textures and these stand with a variety of different interesting poses. Overall worth a stop if you're in the Rockford area, but also worth a special trip to visit Rockford for other fun tourist opportunities as well, particularly during the warmer weather months.

If you're going by car, the nearest street address is that of the Rockford Boys and Girls Club (1040 N 2nd St #1). Once you get there these 10 foot statues are impressive to see. I would not recommend this library to parents with multiple aged kiddos, they have very nice…read moreprograms designed for certain ages but are not welcoming or accommodating when you have older or younger siblings in tow. I have had multiple experiences with staff that is rude. I have had a handful of positive experiences at this library but unfortunately the bad outweighs the good.

I've stumbled upon this place when googling for libraries to study at and came across this gem. I…read moredidn't even know this library existed!!! A lot of libraries are closed on Sundays so I LOVEEEEE that I found CV library because they are one of two that are actually open (1-5pm!). Walking in through the double doors there's bathrooms to the right and then you have to walk thru another set of open doors and the library is split in two - on the left side is the "adult side" and the right side is the kids/teenagers side. I love how it is split up for noise level reasons and how organized it is. They also have rooms that you can rent to study in and plenty of tables and computers. At some of the tables they have community puzzles and adult coloring books, and charging stations for plug ins. I sat at a table that was propped against the open windows and had a great snowy view. I will definitely be here more often!

I watched an officer do an excellent job of helping a woman tonight. The woman was obviously…read moredistressed. He noticed that she needed help. He parked his car and engaged the woman but at a very safe distance. It took a while but he finally talked her into sitting in his car but kept the door open in a very compassionate way. An ambulance came but did not take the woman away as best I can tell but his door was still open after it left. Finally he left presumably with her. I just want to congratulate him on his people skills and glad to know we have this type of compassion in our police department! GREAT JOB! This all happened in Hawks Point subdivision.

Help was so thoughtful, thorough, timely, just superb - I had to write a review…read more This is my second time recently having to annoy the local Police Dept. This time a check was misappropriated from the mail, altered, then cashed. Officer came into the lobby quickly. We met in a room. He took all the information, gave me a card and a case number. They said report would be filed within five days. He also suggested further action to assure completeness. But wait! Received a call within hours after leaving that both reports would avlbl yet today! Amazing. Very kind. Superb help. Explained everything. Can't say enough about what all they did today. Thank you to everyone.
