After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

However, David (or someone there -- doesn't matter) instantly responded to note that I'm outside of their service area (hey, too bad, but useful to know), and -- !!!-- named a couple of other companies for me to contact instead. Maybe it's all bot-driven. I'll take it; not only was the response fast and courteous, it was potentially very helpful, and unexpected. As it turns out, I'd already reached someone else who can help, but I thought I'd point out that David's service is obviously on the ball and helpful even to a non-customer.

They told us they'd be there on Tuesdays. They were there whichever day worked for them. They charged per bag for bagging leaves which we didn't even want them to do (we actually like fireflies). Our lawn would get really long with no sign of them sometimes. Other times, we'd wonder what they were even mowing. Right now, I'm trying to enjoy my backyard on Memorial Day but I can't through the noise while they're at my neighbor's house ON A HOLIDAY! I hate this company.

But I'm updating my review based on an extraordinarily positive interaction and outcome. A couple of weeks ago Andy contacted me. Again it has been several years since we did business together. He let me know that in an accounting review he discovered that I had a pile of extra money sitting with him- probably from some bill pay overages that I had set up through my bank. It looks like an error we both missed in some long forgotten year, and I probably would have never known, but Andy did the right thing, contacted me , and mailed a check. Of course this came at a time when it was needed- I mean, have you seen the price of eggs? That's the kind of business you want to deal with, and you hope that more often than not it is. But it's rare that something like this happens and you get to see it on full display. For this reason I wholeheartedly recommend House to House and will be glad to use them again if the need arises.
