The insurance $ has been a nightmare in the past - with other vendors - this was a painless Breeze. Hearing Aids seem to frequently fall into some nether region of the worst Medical billing. Three previous sets, from a Chicago dr, I was overcharged thousands. Affordable Hearing was smooth, with NO issue in billing. Plus the Aids are better than any I have had previously and these are not cheap necessities! Highly recommend

Yesterday, I saw Dave at the Affordable Hearing Store in St Joseph, MI. He told me this: Costco…read moreis a good place to buy hearing aids; you should go there. I totally agree. Costco sells the same brands of hearing aids as Dave at competitive prices. They have trained audiologists so you get the perfect match and, when you need cleaning or repairs, they do not tag on an office visit fee. Dave told me this after I shared I felt I was being ripped off for repairs to the aids I bought at his store four years ago. In early Oct., I pulled the cord to remove an aid from my ear. The cord was in my hand and the earpiece still in my ear which my husband had to remove using tweezers. Oct 10th, I saw Dave to get this fixed. He replaced both earpieces and charged $125.00. The same thing happened a few days ago; cord in my hand, earpiece needing to be removed using tweezers Note: the only way to remove the earpiece is by pulling the cord. So, yesterday, back to Dave. He said the only way to fix it was to, once again, replace the earpiece. He said I disconnected the cord and earpiece. Like I did this intentionally and it was my fault. No thought to the possibility that the piece might have been defective or had not been attached properly in the first place. No, it was all my fault. I had no choice but to have it repaired at yet another $125. So, yes, I feel ripped off. At $250 in just over a month's time, I'm not amused. So, in the future, I will follow Dave's advice and use Costco for any hearing aid needs and I'll tell all my friends that Dave suggested it!
