I LOVE the Direct Primary Care model! I went without a doctor for YEARS, almost 7 because I…read morecouldn't find a woman doctor that was taking new patients and could get see me in a reasonable amount of time. I ended up going to walk-in clinics. My doc at Family Physicians gets me in within a couple of days. I never feel rushed and I ALWAYS know what something is going to cost ahead of time. Usually, it's significantly less. Contrary to someone else's comment, YES, you CAN use your FSA or HSA money for their services. In my opinion, the membership cost is worth every penny!

I wish I could give this practice 5 stars. Actually had you asked me a year ago and it would have…read morebeen 5 stars. I love the practitioners. They are so caring, really take the time with you, and I never had a problem getting in at a reasonable time. But they really screwed over their patients going to the Direct Primary Care model. No matter how you slice it, the numbers don't make sense. You pay a monthly fee to remain a patient and get discounts on Services, some prescriptions, some labs. But they don't accept insurance. So you can't use your HSA and nothing goes towards your deductible. Even just allowing the use of the HSA would make it more reasonable. But, if you need any tests, surgery, or care beyond their capabilities you will need your regular insurance to be seen elsewhere. While the idea sounds good, it just costs more for the patients in the long run. Not to mention now we are left high and dry trying to find a new practitioner and most places are not accepting new patients because of the sudden influx of patients who left FPSJ.

I've been going here for several years and I highly recommend Dr. Collins. He's a great dr. And the…read morerest of the staff is awesome too. My wife came here for an emergency dental walk in and they saw her right away and gave her a temporary filling and scheduled her an appointment. It was the complete opposite from the Benton harbor one. She had gone there earlier in the week as a walk in (because apparently they don't make dentist appointments and they didn't even give her a chance to wait because they can only serve 15 patients a day. If you have a dental emergency go here to eau Claire they do walk-ins Monday through Friday from 9 to noon and most importantly they treat you with respect, listen to you and truly care about their patients health.

Since I need afternoon…read moreappointments, and the staff seems to think that they don't have to stay past closing time, once I was forgotten in another room with a case worker and did not receive my exit papers or prescriptions. At that same appointment, and after a physical exam, I overheard the intern that examined me making comments about my body shape and size that were less than medical in nature. Need a refill? They make you call the pharmacy to request them. The pharmacy sends the request but then intercare ignores you for a week even if you call them EVERY DAY. Even if it's something you HAVE to take or bad things might happen. On the other hand, the aides and nurses and even most of the doctors are pretty great. Very friendly. They do listen to you and your concerns, and I've always agreed with the medical assessments and diagnosis. I'm sure they are overworked, and I usually tend to forgive them for all the stuff I mentioned above. All that being said. ... I'm keeping my eye out for a different doctor.
