My pets have been patients of Belvidere Hospital for several years now. We live right in the neighborhood and love the convenience. While we've had great experiences with several of the Doctors there, we love Dr. Harvey! She is on another level with our pups! They are always nervous at the vet, but once she comes in they relax and happily take treats from her. She just has a way with them, they really connect. We recently had to put one of our dogs to sleep and on her dying day she managed a little tail wag when Dr. Harvey came in. The staff is also amazing, caring, sympathetic and accommodating! I know that they felt our pain the day we had to put our baby girl down. read more

I brought my cat here for a dental cleaning and a couple of tooth extractions. She was at the office for more than ten hours. Including bloodwork, this procedure cost us more than $2,000. When we finally got her home, we realized that these people had left the IV in her leg. The office had already closed so there there was nothing we could do. Not only was this incredibly unprofessional, it was dangerous and painful for our poor cat who had to deal with it in her leg all night and go through the stress of going back to the office the next day. God knows what else these people missed. We paid $2,000 for this. We won't be back. read more

I have been taking my pets here for 20+ years and Dr. Moore is amazing at her job. She is the best vet I have encountered so far and I think made Belvidere Vet the best place to take your animals. She never fails to follow up with me about anything we may have talked about during check ups and she remembers all my cats, their names and health history. When one of my cats got really sick she went above and beyond for us, being available to talk on the phone and answer questions I had, recommending us to other doctors, making calls to other vets on my part when they weren't responding to me. I really cannot say enough about the service we received. Unfortunately we had to put my cat to sleep due to illness and she was the only person I could even think to handle it. She was incredibly sensitive, they gave us time to spend with our beloved cat and when it came time to say goodbye it was very peaceful. They even followed up with a sweet card from the whole staff after his passing and held on to his ashes for us until I was ready to pick them up. I still religiously bring my pets to Belvidere, in my opinion the service has only gotten better over the years. read more

Belvidere Veterinary Hospital is the best of the best! I have been taking my dog, Ollie, there for 12 years and for all 12 years they have treated him, and me, like we were the most important clients they have. I love that the technicians and doctors sit on the floor to examine Ollie because he hates the examination table. They know he loves snacks so he gets snacks during the exam. They seem to love my dog as much as I do which is really saying something. When the time came to say goodbye to Ollie I could not have asked for more compassion. They treated us all with kid gloves, explained the whole process, gave us the time we needed with Ollie and helped us with his passing. A few days later, I received a sympathy card signed by the whole practice. I give Belvidere Veterinary Hospital 5 stars for sure. You won't find better. read more

Belvidere Vet Hospital continues to be an amazing place to care for my fur babies! I took one of my cats in for some pooping issues. The poor thing peed all over himself in the one block it takes to get there. He was howling while we waited for his appointment and the staff came over to check on him. One of the techs noticed he was covered in urine and proceeded to help me clean him up and spray down his carrier. I was overwhelmed with her kindness. When we went into the appointment with Dr. Harvey, my poor baby was terrified so I was sitting on the floor with him and Dr. Harvey just sat right down with us on the floor! She was compassionate and kind as we talked out his issue. The staff continues to be amazing and although Dr. Moore is gone, Dr. Harvey is just as knowledgeable and empathetic. I highly recommend this vet. read more

This place was a solid 5 star for me. Now that Dr. Williams has left I am disgusted. There was no warning. No letters for him leaving. The whole reason I even took any of my animals there was for Dr Williams. As far as I'm.concerned wignall animal hospital is turning healthcare for pets into a money monopoly. Dr mcGrAth should be disgusted with this. People love their pets as family!! This Is the first time I have ever walked away from this vet office ...sickened...broke and no answers about my pet. Furthermore their new XRAY machine was not functioning and They did not know how to use it . Their in- house labs also not working.!! No results . BRING BACK DR WILLIAMS!!!! read more

I have taken my two cats here to see Dr. Williams and have been happy with the treatment they received. One cat just needed a routine checkup and shots, and the other just had surgery for a bladder stone. I thought Dr. Williams was very nice to deal with and he was very kind to my pets. I don't get enough veterinary services to compare prices, but it seemed like he did a good job trying to diagnose and treat my sick cat without going crazy with expensive tests. read more

Very, very dissapointed in the vet here. He actually turned my dog away and had my wife in tears claiming she was too vicious to examine. Umm, isn't that why you put a muzzle on the dog? She's only 39 pounds! I will never, ever go there again. read more

One of the veterinarians at this location actually cause harm to my cat, and the response from this office was so poor that I pulled him out of there and sent him somewhere else. I took my cat here because he had trouble peeing, and even though the same exact thing had happened just 2 weeks earlier, the vet thought it would be ok to just wait it out and see how he did on some painkillers, without actually treating him. 24 hours later, my cat had a full-blown blockage that cost him immense pain, 2 days in the emergency hospital, and nearly $3,000 on my end. Plus, when they sent his records to the emergency hospital, they were all out of order and a mess, as I was told by the emergency hospital, so they couldn't even see that he had just had a similar issue weeks before. I was able to get over the few times that this vet said they forwarded my cat's records to other facilities for very reasons when in fact, they didn't. I remedied those situations by calling the office several times to ask once again for them to forward his records. However, I can no longer stand to support this hospital. I never even got a call back saying how sorry they were or offering me any kind of discount for wasting lots of money in their office for them to ignore his symptoms, worsening his health and putting his life in danger. read more

Dr. Williams is absolutely phenominal. We have been going to Belvidere Vet for 15 years and have always had great experiences. He is always looking out for the animals as well as the owners (and their purse strings). Dr. Williams saved us some serious money by cancelling a surgery scheduled by another Vet. Our first dog had to have a toe amputated because of a tumor and the other Vet assumed it was the same situation. However, Dr. Williams examined further and determined it wasn't necessary and that the swelling (this time) was caused by a minor infection from her habitual chewing.... $30 for meds vs. $3000 for surgery. Our current dog has been going through some health issues and on top of everything else, blew out her knee. He referred us to Mass Vet Referral Hospital to see an Orthopedic. Another great thing about Dr. Williams.... he knows when to refer you to a specialist. Even better, he called the day after the referral appointment to check in and see how we had made out. Honestly, I'm not one for reviewing any business.... In fact, this is my first time ever! However, I feel that strongly about the care my dogs have received at Belvidere Vet. It is evident that Dr. Williams and his entire staff truly care about their patients (our best friends)!! read more

I was looking for a new vet and was lucky to stumble across a place right in my neighbourhood. I felt that my previous vet wasn't very thorough, didn't communicate, and went back on forth on suggestions/diagnosis which left me feeling pretty unconfident in them. That all changed when Belvidere was able to squeeze me in at the last minute. Coming here was certainly a good choice for my dog. The staff is very kind and Dr. Nickerson is wonderful! My dog was pretty shy the first time we came in and Dr. Nickerson was so caring and gentle, but also very informative. I feel very confident in the decisions they make. I also really love how they are in the Wignall family - I had a situation were I needed to get my dog in for a sick appointment, and they were closed on Wednesday, but thankfully their sister hospital in Dracut was open and I received the same care there. Best choice I've made for my dog, hands down! read more

The new in house vet at Belvidere Veterinary Hospital is Dr . Kathryn Moore. I first met her a few weeks ago when my cat stopped eating. I was nervous about dealing with anyone but Dr. Williams, but he was gone. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Moore. She took all the time I needed to feel secure with my cat's treatment, and referred me when she thought it was necessary. She truly cared about my pet. I called her daily for 2 weeks and she always took my calls. She was patient and kind and I feel very lucky to have found another vet that I can feel comfortable with. If you are thinking about leaving Belvidere because Dr. Williams is gone, you really should stay and meet Dr. Moore. I think you'll be glad you did. Dr. Kathryn Moore has set a new gold standard in Lowell for animal care. I have had two labrador's that required extensive medical care at Angel Memorial in Boston. Dr. Moore's thoroughness and competence is quite evident and is commensurate with the sophistication and quality provided by the doctors at Angel. The staff at Belvedere are uniformly pleasant and efficient. I recently brought my 6 year old Maine coon cat to Belvedere for an annual checkup. A dental cleaning was recommended which required blood work. I was surprised to receive a call from Dr. Moore with an in depth explanation of potential health concerns. After, the dental cleaning, I received 2 phone calls, first one from the staff informing me that the procedure went fine and second, a call from Dr. Moore with detailed information concerning potential heart issues. Upon picking up my cat, Dr. Moore met with me and thoroughly explained her concerns and recommendations for monitoring the heart issues going forward. I also received a detailed printout with color pictures of before and after dental treatment and information concerning the heart issues. I then scanned the printout information and pictures and emailed them to my dentist of 40 years and gently suggested that he might consider providing patients with a comparable level of information. read more
