They are an extremely unprofessional organization! I am trying to get medication for my dog who has a recent physical with them and I have been talked over and hung up on three times. I believe the receptionist Kathy was near tears when she was unable to have a conversation. She reported that her boss was right there and yet would not take my call. So here's the deal, I have brought my Rotty's here for years and I love these folks. From the office staff to the techs, to the Dr's - here it comes...BUT today, I was handed a mask in the exam rm, by the Vet,with no explanation, I put it on thinking she was at risk or something. However here's the thing, as far as I know there is no mandate in town for that at this time. I do not believe in masks or enjoy wearing them, and I think in the 10 seconds it would take for her to ask me if I wouldn't mind for her safety, or let it be known before hand I wouldn't feel strange about it. I am maybe more opinionated than some. But I may very well decide to patronize a vet without such a policy if the policy is continued. I spent over 300 today. It is your choice as the owner of a business to make decisions that you feel may increase your safety. It is my choice where I bring my business, actions have consequences and without patients, there is no business. read more

I have been going to Methuen Veterinary Hospital for 42 years. I had always been happy up until my last visit. My dog had extensive dental service/ although surgery seemed to go well and recovery. The attitude and harassments from one of the workers was horrible. She called my cell three times to know each step of my way. I explained there was an auto accident and I will be there as soon as possible. She continued to harass me, telling me I should of left earlier ect.. and she would have to charge me $50.00 for being late. The thousands I spent were not enough!! When I arrived she continued badgering me and was upsetting my dog who just came out of surgery. It certainly will be my last time. When money over rides the care of an animal is a shame. read more

We recently had an emergency with our dog Rosco. He was hit by a car and we rushed him here as it was the closest vet to us. Even though we had never been there before they took us in right away. I know that sounds like what any vet should do in an emergency but that is not always the case trust me. There was nothing they could do to save him. He was already gone when we got inside. They were extremely compassionate and even cried with us. They never once mentioned e fee or anything. They even helped us get him cremated. A few days later they sent us a lovelysympathy card. Our vet never even did that! We have no idea as to their ability as veterinarians, their prices, or business practices, but they are awesome people, and if we ever get another pet we will surely bring it there! read more

Prior to choosing Methuen Veterinary Hospital, we saw several different vets in the area. Once we experienced MVH, we knew we'd found the RIGHT place. The entire staff is exceptional. Their care, compassion and willingness to go above and beyond in an emergency have had us going back for nearly 20 years. During that time 6 dogs and one cat (all rescues with special needs) have been seen by various members of the staff. No age, breed/mix or health issue has ever completely stumped them. If they happen to have less experience with something, they go the extra mile to learn more. (I had questions about using CBD biscuits to treat our senior girl for joint pain; Dr Gerow actually attended a weekend seminar about it, then called to fill me in on what she learned.) In a lifetime of having critters, these are - WITHOUT A DOUBT - the best Vets and Techs I have the good fortune to call "ours"! It's no exaggeration to say we LOVE them. In fact, the distance to this office was one of the major considerations during a recent decision about moving. Our furkids are our children. I love all the staff at a Methuen Veterinary Hospital. I had a bad experience with one of my dogs at another office in 2003. It's was very difficult for me to bring any dog to the vet. However this staff is great with all my dogs and with me! I'm a nervous person and they always make me feel better. My dogs are well taken care of and I love the extra tips and advice I get on better ways to take care of my babies. They also put up with my husbands ball breaking really well...lol..and one of my pain in the butt chihuahuas...I'm grateful to have found such an awesome place! read more

I am a frequent flyer at the Methuen Veterinary Hospital. I've been a client since the early 90's. I use to drive 50miles each way for years before I moved closer. I went there once with a friend because her cat was sick and I couldn't believe the one on one care. I've been going ever since. I always have dogs and cats. Why am I writing now you ask.... Recently my baby was very ill and So was I. I suffer from a rare handicap and at times I am not mobile. I made an appointment but I was unable to keep it due to my medical condition. My Vet Dr Suzanne Kane called fully knowing I was not capable of making my appointment. She asked me what were the symptoms and we discussed various issues. It didn't surprise me that she called because the care they give is exceptional. After we were done going over my concerns she stated she would be happy to come by my house and see my baby after she was done at the clinic. I was speechless and said yes quickly. That evening she came by my house and examined my baby. It turned out that he was sick and needed various medications. She then stated that she would be happy to bring me the medication and explained that he would be ok. This is just one example of many POSITIVE encounters I've had with the hospital. All the doctors there are wonderful and the staff are more than happy to help and knowledgable. I walked in one day with a puppy Dr Kane immediately recommended medical insurance fully knowing that my pocket book suffers since I live on ssdi. I can't begin to tell you how much money I would of needed if it wasn't for the insurance. Another reason I would recommend Methuen Vet Hospital....the prices are fair and when they need to give you a quote its usually spot on or under. Dr Suzanne Kane, Dr Melissa Folgelson and Dr Annika Gerow all are excellent veterinarians! Trust me you wont find a better vet hospital. read more

I have used Methuen Veterinary Hospital for over 41 years. this is the first time I nave been so disappointed and hamulated with the way I was treated for being 30 minutes late to pick up my dog after a very long day of surgery, I was caught in traffic & an auto accident. A receptionist called me three times while driving to check on my location and on the third call told me I would have to pay a $50.00 fee. The surgery cost over $2,000.00. When I arrived I was berated as to why I was so late & I should of left earlier. I thought that if I paid my fee of 50.00, no more should have been said of my late arrival. I asked if I could please have my dog and as I was holding her she continued her poor behavior. I asked for to leave me alone and that she was upsetting my dog. I felt no one shared any empathy toward my dog or myself. I had already paid for a follow up a following week and I had to wait in the waiting room because the Dr. was handing an emergency & again in the exam room while the Dr. had to leave my pet in the middle of the examine to talking to me for an emergency that came through the door. I was considerate to both the delay & interruption. Yet, all that was said to me through all this from the Dr. was I understand if you were to leave. I then received a letter not to take my dog back for any further reason. read more

I have 2 Siberian Husky's and they can be very sensitive to other people sometimes but the staff here is always very clam with them! I definitely suggest them for any vet needs! read more

Competent office but the practices are as money grubbing as they come. Pricing is exorbitant with no regard for anyone. Any little thing, as trivial, it's blah blah blah....this much, that much, how you going to pay for it? Even the Vet pushes extra cost things that are unnecessary They feel you choose their practice, then you must have $$$$$$$$ to throw their way like it was water. Sure, there are other places around and they have been chosen due to their less of an "exclusive" attitude like this place. Remember people you love your pet and there is nothing that you will not do for them but do not let this place take advantage and abuse that. Your money and dignity have value as well. read more

My first experience with methuen vet was not a good one. My cat smokey had been limping and not using her front left paw for over a week and i became concerned and sought help from a vet as i couldnt take watching my kitty in such pain. I got to the vet and filled out my paperwork and proceeded to wait for about 45 minutes to be seen. (No big deal there was an emergency visit so i didnt mind waiting too much) When the vet did her exam smokey was not limping as she was so pumped full of adrenaline trying to show she was not hurt. The vet told me she couldnt see anything wrong and i disagreed with her the front left leg where it met the paw looked much different to me but the vet could not see it. Its been about 10 days since the visit and nothing has improved smokey is still hobbling around on 3 legs with a damaged front leg. I requested to have them look at my cat again but they told me i would have to pay them again. Forwhat? So they can say "idk pay up". I will be making an appointment else where and getting another opinion from a vet that shows a little bit of compassion for the animal hurt not the "i dont know pay up and get out of my office we are busy" type of attitude. I've been taking my pets there for several years, on recommendation of a relative. I have been extremely pleased with the care my pets receive and the caring they give to me also. There isn't much staff turnover, so I get to see the same doctors and staff, and they treat us like family. Everyone is very friendly, and you can tell they love what they do. They go above and beyond with follow up calls, and the doctors return my calls, even after hours. When my pet was sent to a specialist for care, they still kept up with what was going on, answered my questions, and helped me make decisions. I strongly recommend you give them a try. read more

Love this place! The drs have taken such great care of my 2 cats for years. They are wonderful about following up with phone calls way past office hours and offering suggestions for care or testing that is reasonably priced. I usually only review restaurants but I have had such exceptional care at Methuen Veterinary Hospital that I felt it necessary to give them this review. I have been going to Methuen Vet for over 25 years. First with a male cocker for 13 years, then with 2 cockers (male and female) for 12.5 years and now with a new cocker spaniel puppy. I have dealt with all of the doctors, but primarily with Dr. Suzanne Kane. Dr. Kane is knowledgeable and compassionate. She has done several surgeries on various dogs, treated many ear infections and most recently helped us with the cancer treatment of one of our babies. Sophie was being treated at an oncology office and Dr. Kane called after every visit to see how Sophie was and to make sure we understood everything. When Sophie passed, Dr. Kane made several calls to us to check to see how we were doing. This is better care and compassion than we see with our human physicians. The office staff is awesome as are the vet techs and other vets. Everyone is pleasant and caring and clearly loves animals. Sandy, Ann and Jenn always greet us by name and with a smile. I recommend this practice highly and wish I could give them 10 stars! read more
