I've been coming to wignall for 14 years now and they have gone down hill significantly. We had a bad experience with boarding in November and decided to give them a second chance as we have been bringing our dogs here for so long. Unfortunately, We just picked our dogs up from boarding - both dogs smell like pee, (literally covered in it) one of my dogs eyes are blood shot with goo coming out of his eyes. Last time we picked up both dogs smelled like pee and one of our dogs had a rash all over his body and was itchy until we had to put him on a round of meds. This isn't a coincidence. Save your money & your animals and bring them elsewhere. read more

Disappointed. We have been going to Wignill for years, and the past several times they couldn't get my pet in for a visit so we had to go to another vet. After going here for years, my pet had already gotten a yearly exam and they wanted to charge for an exam just got my pet to have a rabies shot! And the nail trim price went up to $45! My rescue pup was with Wignall for a long time. My last visit there. They not only injured him (visual limp after his visit & I heard him yelp), then they charged me for the pain medication! The least they could have done in the situation was admit what they did and cover the pain medication. I was so disappointed with them not telling me the truth (even when asked) I decided that was my last appointment. Honesty goes a long way with me and accidents happen. But the last thing I want to deal with is an unprofessional veterinary hospital. read more

Not impressed. I had a 2:40 PM appointment for my dog and subsequently had to take 2 hours off work at the end of the day to make sure I was there 10 minutes early. THEY DIDN'T SEE MY DOG UNTIL 5 PM! I can understand 15 or 30 minutes late but 2 hours 20 minutes is absolute dog crap! If I had been 5 minutes late they would have said TOO BAD... and when they are late it's the same story TOO BAD!. I also resent that they fight tooth and nail to not write a physical prescription... they expect you to use their overpriced pharmacy! Sorry it's cheaper and more convenient to fill the antibiotic at CVS... it's a broad spectrum ABT that humans take for christ sake. read more

This is just for the overnight boarding: I left my princess here over the weekend for her first time away from me. I was very nervious about leaving her anywhere and made this trip last minute. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. I even called on Sunday to check up on her. My only question is why she seemed to have had a bath when I picked her up? If she had been rained on or had sat in her food, you'd think they would tell me? It just made me worry because I had seen the review from Audry P about her dog coming home with urine stained paws. Did they let my princess get covered in urine and just clean her at the last minute? Because I can't say for sure, and probably will never know, I still give them 4 stars. But its something to consider and be watchful for. read more

Droped my dog off at 830 AM for a teeth cleaning. She was not ready for pick up until 7 PM. I was told that the procedure did not begin until 3 PM. Our dog had never been in a cage or away from us for so long but obviously not a concern of theirs. Run like a factory not a hospital. Terrible service. Terrible way to treat a dog and a customer. Brought my cat in due to him not eating and that I suspect he has hepatic lipidosis due to not eating. 2 appointments and 1200 later all that they did was confirm what I told them with pointless tests. I had an extremely traumatizing experience when bringing my cat in for a euthanasia appointment.

It pains me to write a bad review, but I just want to save others the agony that we have gone through. First and foremost, I would like to say not one staff member has been rude or treated my pet unfairly. We are new to the area and took our doggo in for a sick visit. We were asked if we wanted to sign up for the wellness membership, which we agreed to since it would save us money on vaccines as well as vet visits. I also asked for flee/tick and heart gaurd. At the the end of the visit we were instructed to come back in a few weeks for a follow-up vaccine and paid the amount due. A week later we received a bill in the mail for the balance, which came as a shock because we were under the impression we paid the full amount while at the office. We did not receive an invoice at checkout though, and noticed on the bill sent via mail, we had been charged for everything, visit and vaccines, but had not been added for the wellness membership. When returning back, I brought it up to the staff, and they responded "it's because your dog came in for a sick visit and not a wellness check up so that visit would not have been applicable for the wellness membership". The staff agreed to have a manager call us to review the bill and changes and we would hold off paying for her current vaccination round until we had an answer. Never received a call, but we did receive another bill with interest applied. I called and this time and had to voice my concerns around how the situation was handled. The person who answered the phone very politely advised me that a manager would call us today. We still have yet to receive a phone call. Unfortunately, this will be my last attempt to get this settled and just pay the bill. But we will not be returning to Wignall. read more

My dog is very nervous of new people and Dr. Detelich takes it slow with him and tries to earn his trust instead of rushing him in and out. The doctors here take their time and try their best to make sure your pet is comfortable. I love that they try to make a vet visit a happy experience for my animals. read more

Held off for about 10 days before writing this. I stopped going to Wignall a while back because they were rude and hurt my pup, but about 10 days ago, I had no choice but to bring her in as she was struggling. She was 15 years old and my only regret was that her final breaths were taken at this place. Not the worst part of all this is that before she was put to sleep, they came into the room with a card to sell me on my options for after she passes (this was my first time going through this, so I get that this is probably customary). What happened next made the experience excruciating. After we held our dog through her final breaths and cried on the floor, my wife got up and went out to pay at the counter. They told her to not worry about it and that they will bill us at our home address. We left. Five days later, we get the call that her remains were ready to be picked up. My wife makes me stay in the car (because I was a mess) and she went in to get her. They informed her that she needed pay them on the spot before they handed over our pup's remains. She reminded them that THEY SAID that they would mail us the bill and that she didn't have the right card with her at the time. They refused to give us our pup's remains and even took my wife into a separate room where they implied "if you can't afford this, there are other options." Eventually, after a ton of rudeness and disregarding of our grief and their own employee (who was standing there silently the whole time) who originally said that we could pay at home, they let my wife bring my pup out to me. She was in tears and told me that she needed to go back in and pay now. This was the worst experience I could have imagined after having to deal with the grief of putting my pup down. To pour salt in the wound...9 days after we put her down at Wignall, I get a postcard in the mail from them with my dog's name on it in big letters saying that it's time for us to schedule our next visit. I was very upset with the way my cat Sketty's situation was explained to by Dr. Cringan. I also, did not like that fact that she performed an ultrasound on Sketty without my consent and has no medical knowledge about the procedure so not sure why should perform an ultrasound to begin with. When I asked to set up an appoint with the ultrasound specialist for next week because she was not available until next week, she told me that Sketty would not make it until next week. Then she puts in my record that I declined a second opinion which I did not she just was not willing to set up the appointment for me. read more

Very disappointed, we were loved bringing our cat here, and recently brought our boy Orange to have his nails trimmed and anal glands expressed thinking it would be as any other visit. Immediately upon arrival my husband realized how one of the techs carried our pet's cage without a care, frightening our cat who normally is pretty calm. When we brought him back home, my husband immediately saw our pet with a slight limp. My husband thought...maybe he didn't like the trimming or maybe having his anal glands expressed bothered him... but eventually the limping became worse and $1000 later after taking him to a 24 hour Hospital from seeing how much pain he was in, barely eating and trying not to apply pressure to his paw....we were told he had a torn ACL. This is not ok nor should this have ever happened. I understand there are mistakes that happen, but to physically hurt an animal to this extent, there should be some sort of explanation and/ or help with resolving it. read more

Leigh DeMarco has been our vet for over a decade. We have always had large breed working dog(Rottweilers) and she has always worked well with our dogs no matter what their temperament, and has made sound recommendations as it relates to their care. She is a consummate professional! The front desk staff has always done their best to accommodate our needs and check us out in an expeditious manner. I highly recommend Wignall. read more

They took me last minute on Monday after my own vet (Linwood) would not see me after describing the very serious symptoms my dog was having. They fit me in immediately upon arrival, and the tech, i think her name was Bonnie, was amazing and thorough. They quickly found what was going on with my dog. It wasn't good. I had to euthanize him that night at westford emergency and now I'm left wondering if i had just brought him to Wignall initially, instead of going to Linwood in the past month, would he still be alive today? I so appreciate the care, information, and sympathy i received. Wignall will be my vet from now on. Thank u. read more

Closer, friendlier, and less expensive than PetSmart and several other local groomers. I also feel better knowing that the grooming and boarding are part of the Vet Clinic so that if anything happened to my dog while I was away, they would be able to give her the proper care. read more

I moved to Dracut a few months ago and needed to take my newly-adopted lab mix to the vet for his post-adoption exam. I decided to give Wignall a shot, despite the Yelp reviews, and overall I'm glad I did. I called and got an appointment for the same day, which was a nice surprise. I was very happy with the medical staff, especially Dr. Thomas. She examined my dog, answered all our questions (we had a list :), and gave us lots of advice about caring for him. She even printed up some reference material for us. The assistants were really nice too, no complaints there. As for the cost, I didn't think it was too outrageous, especially after reading some of the other reviews here. The prices seemed on par with my previous vet in Andover. It was $63 for the examination, $41 for the fecal test, $30 each for 2 vaccines, $39 for some ear infection medicine, and $30 for some lab work related to the ear infection. So the total was $233. That seems reasonable for the services performed, but your expectations may vary. I also picked up a year's worth of flea, tick, and heart worm prevention products while I was there. They do not work with 1-800-PET-MEDS at all by the way, but they do price match, including coupon codes. I printed the cart from 1-800-PET-MEDS, brought it to Wignall, and they price matched it. Slightly frustrating when you get a call saying they don't work with 1-800-PET-MEDS, but overall it was more convenient because I didn't have to wait for the products to ship. Update 4/26/2015: Now that I've been bringing my dog to Wignall for more than a year, I'm upgrading this rating from 4 to 5 stars. My dog has been to Wignall for routine exams, flea and tick prevention products, parasite diagnosis and removal, patching up an injured paw, and minor oral surgery. I've been consistently impressed with the professionalism and helpfulness of Wignall's staff. read more

All I wanted was to walk in and buy ear cleaning solution for my dog. I've bought the same solution there before. The receptionist was slow to get up from her chair and get the product. Then she asked me a bunch of non-related questions such as my phone number, where my dog gets vaccinated, and other non-sense questions. Finally I walked out without the ear cleaner. I can get ear cleaner solution from my regular vet without all the hassle. Spending idle time answering questions and looking up records without the product in my hands - seems like they need to improve their system. read more

Wignall is great I highly recommend them. Especially if you have and animal with anxiety or that is fearfull. My dog has done a complete turn around from having to be in a crate when people are over to being out and around the whole family on Easter! read more

Apparently they do not allow cancellations of appointments even two days early. I will not pay their $50 fine and will not keep a credit card on file with these thieves. They are certainly not cheap and there are far better options around that are little more courteous to the customers that pay these ridiculous fees. read more

if I could give this place zero stars, I would. My dog is 13 years old and we made the mistake of bringing her in for basic nail trim. First nail trim and they use clippers, the "trained technician" clips her quicks. Blood everywhere. Now the technician is getting frustrated and my dog backs herself up in a corner to get away from this lady. They offer a drummel for $30. LOL. These people are in it for the money and completely incompetent. I call to complain and they give me the generic "what can we do for you?" I asked to have all her paperwork transferred out and they did it without hesitation. Shocking. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Wignall called to cancel my dog's appt for vaccinations yesterday. The original appointment was scheduled for 4pm yesterday, the new appt scheduled was for 3:10 today. I did fumble and they called at 340 about the missing the appt. I really thought it was at 310. They put me on hold and said I could come right down for the vaccination. Then told me there would be an up charge on the exam from 60 something to 95. Then I waited over 30 minutes for someone to come and get my puppy. I am so unhappy with this vet. Why do they have to do an exam with a vaccination? I just feel like they would do anything for money. I asked for all his records and they said okay, then the girl comes out and says they will be emailed. read more

If i could give zero stars, i would. my german shepherd has been having skin issus for 9 months. she saw 5 different vets there and none of them could figure out what was wrong. OVERCHARGING is putting it mildly. i guess someone has to fund their facilities. i stood at the front desk for 10 minutes waiting to get acknowledged. there was no one else there and 2 receptionists. i finally spoke up and canceled the appointment that they made me late for at that point. trying to leave there? think again. it took a solid month to get my dog's records. after 3 phone calls, and going in twice, they still weren't ready. their front staff is AWFUL! then, as i was getting the records, some other receptionist had the balls to tell me i wasn't doing everything and anything for my pet despite 6 visits for the same condition. so i'd think twice about going there. I have never met a more money hungry vet place as Wignalls. I brought my poor cat in to be put to sleep and was so upset. All the girl was concerned about was to swipe my card. The vet, Dr. Thomas was very cold and not compassionate at all. I am so sorry that my cat had to end his life in that state. My friends have all switched vet hospitals and love Countryside. Needless to say after all of these years I am switching also. Vets are so kind and the prices are cheaper. Not money hungry either. read more

We bring my dog here twice a week for daycare and he seems to have a blast! They post pictures of him on Facebook and give updates like he was my kid! They do a great job watching the dogs and are very attentive to the dogs! read more

I am frustrated with the care and mistake by a DR and having to deal with that DR insurance company. At First during the initial mistake I was ok and handling the injury to my dog.. 2 months later beyond frustrating ! I will change vets for good and his care was removed from Wignald following the injury caused by the dr in charge of him. read more

Everyone at Wignall is great. They do everything they can to relax and care for your pet. Bonnie has been working with my dog Dustin. If I could leave 0 stars I would. This hospital held onto a dog that was a part of an investigation. He was removed from his home and put into isolation at the hospital. He wasn't allowed to have visitors there regardless of who was trying to visit because it was a "police matter" (people trying to visit were not involved in the police matter). This poor dog then became aggressive because he was in a different place other than what he had known his whole life. We had tried to find fosters for him and he was deemed too aggressive and was told he needed to be put down because they wouldn't let anyone foster him. We asked if someone could be there with him when he goes and it was like pulling teeth. We were given a short time to get there before they were going to put him down regardless. I've heard so many bad things about this place before hand, this all was just the topping on the cake. They had no compassion for this pup. Didn't think to themselves how this pup was removed from everything he's ever known (older pup too) and maybe that's why he got aggressive. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

He came home and drank a quart of water without taking a break. I felt like I had abused my pet and friend. A scary place to say the least. I booked an appointment for a nail trim for my cat. Not only did they make me wait 35 minutes for a 1 minute nail trim, but they did a shoddy job and charged me $12 for it. This was my first visit ever to this place. I won't be making the mistake of coming back here again. read more

About 18 months ago I rescued a wild kitty. She was about 1 pound, had upper respiratory disease (conjunctivitis caused her eye to be swollen shut) infested with fleas, warms, clearly starving, and just extremely sick. She was abandoned outdoors with about 15 other felines and no one would commit to taking care of them. (This was in the middleboro area). I had been visiting a friend, and in the back woods area is where she found these cats- but her family couldn't take care of these cats, so they worked with in-town rescue and tried getting people to foster and take these kitties in. I ended up taking one, and named her Jojo. I nursed her back to health. A few months later, I find out that the same mother kitty had another litter, and the neighbors were doing what they could to get hold of this cat, to get her spayed and put a stop to these poor kitties just multiplying! I ended up going back to Middleboro(I live in the chelmsford area) and rescuing Jojo's sister, and named her Lilly. I brought her home. When I brought the two of them in for a checkup, and explained my story, the vet assistant proceeded to tell me how I endangered my first kitty and that I was irresponsible and selfishly one-tracked and tried explaining how I should consider the needs and care of these poor felines. I yelled at her to get out of the room and get someone else to take care of me and my pets. Mind you, my kitten (Lilly) was being examined in a room, AWAY from me, and screaming like I have never heard a cat scream. I paid what was due, complained to the front desk about the atrocity of that women embarrassingly accusing me of endangering a cat (or two) and that it was extremely unprofessional. I ended up leaving that vet and have not returned. If I had to guess what I remembered her name to be, it was either Christina or Courtney- or something along those lines. I transferred my pet documents to another vetinary clinic and never went back to Wignalls. I got no apology, no explanation, and that woman never approached me . 18 months later, my cats are as healthy and as happy can be. I understand the risk of being exposed to feline blood diseases and what not- but I did my best given the situation and was somewhat familiar with the risks. The moment I was able to I brought Lilly in and asked for guidance. I did consider the needs and care of the felines, and those felines have become the biggest and best part of my life.
