The Drs and office staff here are all great. Our dog gets great care here. Much better than other places in town.

They have…read moreadopted this new policy of being a "fear free, stress free environment for pets and employees"..... but they have taken it to the EXTREME!!! I relayed concerns over the phone of how poorly our dog's vet appointment went last year, while booking her an annual for this year. I relayed that my dog has high anxiety and would be better served if the staff would try to do the exam/shots within a reasonable time block. Basically, a normal pet exam/shots. Apparently, I came across on the phone as verbally aggressive!! I got a nasty email from the office manager Allison accusing me of being verbally abusive to their staff!! She declined animal care for all my pets and said I was no longer welcome at Littleton Animal Hospital because I didn't respect their practice philosophy. I had just been there 2 days prior. Our cat had her annual exam. I asked for an itemized print out of the charges after the exam and asked if the blood panel fee of $157. was for a full panel not partial. That is a reasonable question to ask. I was then accused in the "notes" that were in our pets summary report as being rude!! I have never felt so misunderstood, disrespected in my entire life!! Now I am gladly going to find a new vet for my pets! I am also very heartbroken bc I am not this terrible person they made me out to be in the nasty email I was sent!! I love my pets and I know them best and want to make their experience at the vet the least stressful as possible!! They expect a "perfect" no stress, zero fear based environment!! I think they are mainly worried about "how they feel as employees" verses the best possible way to approach the specific animal. I think they have lost sight of what an animal hospital is supposed to be!! Maybe they should consider becoming a practice of providing pet therapist.

Both my girls LOVE Candace and always get mopey when we get home because they love their time with her. All dogs are introduced to another to ensure compatibility with the others which makes for an incredible experience for my two clowns. Cost is on point with kennels BUT you get so much more; would you prefer to go away knowing your dogs are alone at night on a concrete floor or wrestling for position on a couch in front of the fire place? Stop looking around, you've already found the best solution for your pets while you're away. Thank you Candace for all you've done; we'll be seeing you shortly!!

I was sooo lucky to have found Candace. She literally opens her home to the dogs in her care. Dogs spend their time at her lovely house and are allowed to come in and out throughout the day. There were a few other dogs staying with Candace at the same time as my dog, and these guys were so sweet and playful. (Candace does a wonderful job screening her clients to make sure everyone is safe, happy, and comfortable.) Leaving your dogs in her care is like leaving your dogs with a family member. My dogs instantly trusted her, and so did I. I was able to enjoy my vacation without worrying about my pets. She even sent me photos to help put my mind at ease. Candace is the BEST, and I highly recommend her to all dog owners who do not want to board their loved ones in kennels.

I really believe that they care for my animals as if they were their own. One other wonderful thing about this practice is that they are incredibly careful about doing testing in a way that takes the expense into account -- testing one thing to rule something out before moving on to the next thing, and they also are very willing to help me prioritize my pets needs when multiple issues come up at once, which do sometimes as your pets age. We've seen (well, we haven't SEEN the newest doctor, Dr. Normington, but did have appointments with her from the car/ via Covid protocols) all of the doctors pretty evenly and they all have our full confidence, and we are DEEPLY attached to our pets and extremely picky when it comes to their care. We tried a few other vets in the area before settling here, and it's such a relief to find one that really seems to get our pets and be fully committed to their care.

Most vets don't give you a hassle to get a refill and force you to pay another $200 just to bring them in. There's absolutely no reason I'd need to bring him in again. We already know what the issue is. Just want money it's ridiculous. Not ever going back there again.

We have two young rescue dogs, one of which was horribly abused and is thus very shy and afraid of people and takes a long time to warm up to anyone. We wanted to schedule several visits over the course of Feb-May to be sure our dogs would be comfortable with their caretaker while we were away. We met with the owner, and then with a caretaker, which seemed to go well. Then when we tried to schedule another visit, we got put off and put off multiple times over weeks with various excuses ranging from weather to injury and no callbacks, we always had to initiate communication. After several weeks of this treatment, we were informed by the owner that our dogs were too high maintenance and that Fresh Trails was not willing to work with us. Let me say, for the record, that I totally understand rescue dogs being difficult to work with, especially one who was as abused as our poor girl was. I do not fault Fresh Trails at all for declining to work with a dog with issues of that nature. Where I do find fault is with the incredibly unprofessional way we were treated, especially as Fresh Trails was well aware of our time constraints and our desire to give our girls plenty of time to get used to their caretaker. It should not have taken 2 months to come to the decision that our girls were too challenging, especially when several weeks had elapsed since the last visit.
