The owners are knowledgeable about what they are making, where it is coming from, and the way they grow and prepare the majority of the food they make! My only real caution is to say that WHEN you stay here, "(because you should!) do your best to drive up during the day. Retired to our room (Shepherd's Loft) with a very tasty bottle of wine, complimentary treats, and a movie. Our room was perfect for us, the smallest one I think, but plenty of room and a very nice bathroom. Even though the part of the house was built in the 20's, everything seemed new. Got wifi in our room. The bed and linens were super comfy. Breakfast was at a not-too-early 9:00am and was delicious. I was glad I didn't make lunch plans, we were barely hungry by dinner time. We got a fun little tour of the winery operations downstairs by Chris. We couldn't get the sheep or donkeys to come to the fence to be pet, but they are friendly. Sadly we had to head onto the next leg of our trip, otherwise we would have done some of the trails. Sherry and Chris were really nice, personable, and funny. We absolutely loved our short stay and plan to come back next year. There are a ton of places to hike, bike, canoe, eat, shop, all within 30-40 min of that area, but I love that their place is at the end of their own road. Stayed October 2016

(The apple pue sangria is a must try!) The distillery aspect is small, with only 2 whiskeys, 1 vodka, and 2 flavored versions of the vodka available. The $12 flight for three 3/4oz pours left us feeling lacking. The atmosphere is nice with lots of seating options. There are tables with chairs, bar searing, and a pit group of leather couches around a coffee table in front of the fire. The service was chipper and friendly, ready with recommendations based on what you like.

The winery/distillery is nestled into a scenic area, right next to the Chippewa River. Behind the building is a large area with the stage, with the vineyard behind that. On this day, they had Happy Trails Pizza serving food. The inside of the building has a large main seating area. There are different areas for tasting wine, ordering cocktails, or buying snacks and merchandise. The entire space is well-designed. We ordered a few cocktails and grabbed a table under the pergola-covered area. There weren't that many other people there (it was a very warm 90°F day), so we had lots of space. My Lavender Collins was very good, and everyone else enjoyed their refreshments. While we listened to the band, we munched on the caramel corn that we purchased inside. If we hadn't already had lunch, we would have tried the pizza. Maybe next time. Would definitely come back again for a drink and a concert.

This was very good and from a local supplier. After taking a bunch of pictures my husband and I decided that this is a beautiful place for parties or weddings. When your name is on the business you have to buy as much merchandise with your name on it as possible. To my surprise the wine, pizza, and clothing were all much less expensive than I had anticipated. So I stocked up. There is so much to see, do, and taste.
