This review is regarding my family's dissatisfaction with the workmanship on a headstone engraved…read morein October 2023 by Graystone Monuments, Stockton, CA. Our dissatisfaction stems from the lack of quality of the engraving for my mother who died February 16, 2023 and is now buried in San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery in the same plot as her husband. Her husband died in 1995 and his information was already on the headstone. ln March 2023 I engaged Graystone Monuments to engrave my mother's information alongside his. I provided a mock-up of the wording and expected the new engraving to match the existing engraving. It does not. The new engraving font is slightly smaller, not as deep, and not as wide. After they did the work, the new information did not match the old and was hardly visible. I provided them photos showing the problem. There were several conversations with them on this subject, with their last email to me on 3/16/2024 saying "There is nothing else we can do for you." It appears to me that their on-site engraving capability was either insufficient or their craftsman was not qualified. Their only suggestion was to let the marker age and no one would be able to notice the difference.

His willingness to step in completely turned our experience around, and he is truly an asset to your organization. Unfortunately, our experience with Jonathan Sandwell was extremely disappointing. His handling of our loved one's arrangements was, in our experience, unacceptable. The flower order he handled was incorrect, communication was poor, and there was a serious lack of urgency in securing the necessary dates for the military funeral honors. Critical arrangements were left until the last minute, forcing my family to step in and take action ourselves to ensure everything was properly coordinated. This was not simply an inconvenience. Had my family not intervened, our loved one could have missed the military honors they had earned and deserved. That is an incredibly serious failure when you are entrusted with helping a family honor a veteran. What made the situation even more frustrating was Jonathan later appearing to take credit for arrangements that my family had personally worked to secure. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend that families choose someone other than Jonathan if they have that option. He did not give us confidence that our loved one's arrangements were being handled with the care, urgency, or attention they deserved. His lack of follow-through created unnecessary stress for a grieving family at a time when we should have been able to trust the professionals handling these arrangements. Separately, I had a brief interaction with Victoria "Tori" Monforte when I asked a simple question. Unfortunately, I was met with an unnecessary amount of attitude rather than a helpful response. Although it was a brief interaction, it left a negative impression. During such an emotional time, families deserve compassion, professionalism, clear communication, urgency, and attention to detail. We are especially grateful that Scott demonstrated all of those qualities and helped restore our confidence in the process. His service showed us exactly what this experience should have looked like from the beginning.

I can't speak to their professionalism and kindness enough, but what most impresses me is this companies flawless ability to prepare the paperwork needed with sense of urgency . While I won't go step by step, I can say that they guided us through the entire process from arranging their receipt of our loved ones remains at the hospital through the interment in the most kind and considerate manner imaginable. Most of the questions we had were answered before we had even asked. From Gabriel and Elizabeth to the young gentleman who assisted me when picking up the death certificates, each of them comported themselves with the upmost care, consideration and professionalism throughout this most difficult time. They even went so far as to reach out afterwards on multiple occasions just to see how we were coping with the aftermath. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend them to others who might themselves in their hour of such need.

Moses was fabulous in helping me figure out all what was needed to make a lovely Catholic funeral Mass happen for him. He did it all and coordinated bringing my dad from another funeral home in another state (he lived there but wanted to be buried in the cemetery his parents are at in Stockton) so was just a little more complicated. Plus I had my brother's cremated remains I wanted to be buried with dad. Moses made it all come together without a hitch The music and singers he booked were fabulous and their location is beautiful for any services you would want to do there. Ours was a little more detailed because we had the Rosary the night before, Mass at the church the next day then followed to the cemetery for the graveside part. He and all the other staff were very professional and right on every little detail. I cannot thank everyone at Casa Bonita enough for such a wonderful job they did. This is not an easy business and I see some not good reviews on here but I have to say those people have to be something wrong personally because of course a business has to be paid. Yes, everyone pays otherwise you don't stay in business very long. Moses helped me save alot of money by finding solutions for a couple of very high cost items, so I personally know he's not out to get every dollar you have. In fact I need to contact him soon to start pre-need planning for mom because she will be buried with dad and I'm not going to go anywhere else. My Nonnie's funeral was also held here in 2015 and although I had no part in planning hers, I did attend and hers was just as lovely. No one ever prepares you to plan for a funeral service of a loved one but Michael was really communicative, patient, accommodating, understanding, and offered so much help and knowledge during the entire process from start to end. Initially, the reviews deterred me from this establishment but after seeing it for myself, experiencing it myself..... I would had say it turned out really well and as best as it can be. We received tons of compliments for the service. The entire space is pretty huge and we unexpectedly had a large gathering of family and friends and there was still plenty of space. I've contacted his business numerous times and spoken with his "team" and asked for a call from Mike which I have never received. I find it funny/odd that either he never gets his messages or he disregards them. Every time I've called, he was either not available due to not in office or not available due to a service. But even having left a message numerous times I have not received a call back.
