Great selection of whiskey from here to Japan. I first learned of this place through the Philadelphia Whiskey Society when they held a tasting at this store. They have a meeting space next door that worked perfectly for a group gathering, and about 50 of us enjoyed Glen Scotia and other fine whisky. Stopped in because they carry a brand of whiskey that my boyfriend LOVES! I wandered to the back and noticed tons of four packs of vodka and soda type drinks. Huge selection which was perfect because I was looking for low sugar drinks to enjoy this summer. Left with a five different four packs and what I've tried so far I've enjoyed! I appreciate that this is a family owned business, truly I do. But they do not store their wine properly. Today (yes it is a terrible heatwave, my car read 103 degrees F) the store wasn't much cooler than the outside. I saw various people setting up giant fans throughout the store, and the beer fridges barely looked like they were working (condensation galore). This understandably raises doubt in my mind as to the state of their wine. Will what I bought taste like vinegar? We shall soon find out and I will post back and possibly update my review by a star if it's drinkable. I don't get the sense of friendliness from the staff at all. I'm not a regular but frankly that shouldn't matter. There was not a simple "thank you" for my $40 purchase as I left. Total wine on route 38 near the mall (5 minutes from Benash) is much larger with a better selection, stores their wine properly, and has friendly service. I'll probably keep going there even though it's a bit more of a drive for me. Yes, they are a chain, but I am not ashamed to prioritize my own value for the $ and my own family's needs over someone else's. Particularly when they don't value mine. *next day update* The cork was dry as a bone, further supporting that Benash does not store their wine properly. It crumbled, fortunately not too much, into the bottle. At least the bottle was barely drinkable, not full on vinegar yet. But I will never be buying wine here again. Disappointing because this was a gift for my mom, who has toured wineries in France and used to collect wine. She was not happy to see the state of the dried out & degenerated cork, and says the wine lost its fruitiness and body that a Chianti should have. read more

This store is not the closest to me by any means, but it is definitely my go-to! Huge selection of wine, whiskey and every other kind of spirits. The staff is very knowledgeable and so friendly! Especially the owner, Rich. He knows his regular customers by name and loves to chat when you come in. I personally have learned so much about bourbon, my favorite drink, from Rich. His store picks are amazing too, especially my personal favorite, the Makers Mark Private Selection. I always make sure to I keep a bottle on hand. Benash Liquor Store is located on the Route 38 circle, which makes it a great place to stop on your way into the city via the Ben Franklin. There is plenty of parking in front of the store. Benash is smaller then a lot of its competition in Cherry Hill. That being said- it still has a GREAT selection, and way more personalized attention and service. Keep in mind- this is not a mega warehouse with 30 foot ceilings, instead its a locally run small business. Like all NJ Liquor stores, Benash sells all your needs in one place: wine, beer, rum, vodka- you name it, they've got it. Benash is my favorite local liquor store. The employees here are friendly and helpful- they always ask me if I need any assistance, and have even brought stuff out to my car for me before. The store itself is kind of small, compared to some other local places, but they have a really good selection and a lot of unique/local stuff. I have always been able to find what I am looking for. There is even a discount table in the back that has some weird flavors of liquor and wine that may have messed up labels. What a great Google find! I was looking for Suze, a French liquer and found this store carried it. Made a special trip over the bridge just for a bottle. Then discovered they have a treasure trove of amazing spirits. And an incredible selection of Amaro. You've probably been by here a number of times, but it is worth stopping in. Not huge by any means, but their selection for some items is different and better than you often find in much larger stores. Not all liquor stores are created equal and Benash was created with the customer in mind. This place is walking distance from my home in The Hill, all of 3 minutes from door to door, which adds to my affinity of it. When you walk in, the door is automatic, so pulling or pushing to get into this place. The big wide square room is well lit and there are signs on each shelf section so that it's easy to find exactly what you're looking for. If you can imagine row upon row of toxic goodness without trying hard to find what you need, you've got it. Benash has all of your regulars like Hennysey and Absolut, but also brands you've never heard of and neat new beers and trends. There's a wide range of beers for different tastes, and I appreciate that because I've just become a real beer drink. Still in the experimental phase, but they help me to experiment here at Benash. From a price standpoint, they've got enough to fit any budget. So that's great or a day when the wallet's a little thin and the bank's a little bit broken. The people are nice and though I've only been in the area half a year, and mostly got on the weekends, I'm a recognized regular. Had more conversations here at this little spirit store than anywhere in all my life. read more

It's an okay option when I am headed home and do not want to go out of my way. The wine selection is very small and nothing special unless you are looking for moscato or riesling. If you are looking for standard domestic beers they have them in the back refrigerator which is convenient. Last time i visited they did have Spellbound IPA which is good to know, but it was not refrigerated. The liquor selection is their best asset being they have lots of brands , different flavors for each, and the prices aren't terrible. Again, I only shop here if I'm on my way home and do not feel like going out of my way. I would imagine it's a nice option if you are going to a BYOB and need a refrigerated 6 pack. The employee presence is missing except at the register. I have searched for 15 minutes or longer without being acknowledged by anyone especially in their barely there wine section. read more

Benash has been around forever, and to be honest, I've usually bypassed it for the giant Total Wine around the corner. However, Benash has some family-style features you just won't get anywhere else, including a discount table in the back and complimentary mints in the front. It has been a year since I first learned about Benash. I recently came across a review for them and figured they deserved my props as well. It was my boss's birthday and he likes Troegs nugget nectar and the season for nugget is practically over this time of year. I called practically every bottle shop in Philly and no one had it. Finally I came across Benash and they had two cases left! I asked them to put both on hold for me which I was happily surprised they did! The second time I went, my friends were getting married in NC and they wanted a particular peppermint schnapps that you cant get in NC. I volunteered to bring it down and knew I had a place that would have it. I needed 7 bottles and they had 8! I was super happy I only had to make one stop for all that schnapps! Their selection is tremendous and their customer service is even better. They always helped me carry everything out to my car, it is the little things they do to go the extra mile that makes Benash so great! read more

For anyone in the NJ area, it's conveniently located and easy to get in and out of it he parking lot from a roundabout. I had to go out of my way into NJ from Philly to make the trip here because they were the only store anywhere nearby that had a specific bottle of liquor I need for a holiday gift. This is my go to place for whisky. Huge and diverse selection. If nobody else has it, Benash will, or they can find it for you. One of the owners (I think) suggested Nomad, a Scotch that is shipped to Jerez Spain and finished in Olorosso barrels. Amazing stuff for the Sherry Monster!!! read more

I have been looking for a holiday treat Avocaat for years, I have seen prices as high as $500 to have it flown in from Belgium. Anyway it showed on the website that they could order it, and it would take at least 3 days. Ordered, ten minutes later, boom, ready for pickup. This is a place with great ownership. I was looking for a specific beer (Game of Thrones) and the owner called me and left a voicemail letting me know when it was delivered. SOLID ownership and staff. Cannot stress enough how great the people who work here are. So nice, and helpful too so don't hesitate to ask should you need advice. Prices slightly higher than the big box stores but with the competitions attitude you are better off here where they care! Good selection. They have your standard party accessories for grab and go fun, lottery, soda and let's not forget the scratch and dent section for that last minute dinner party you have no desire to attend.
