He introduced himself and explained what my x-rays revealed. He then said he was glad I came in and proceeded to talk about pain management options. I chose to have knee surgery, at which time he cited his availability to do my surgery. My surgery went well and so did my follow up appointments. During one of my appointments, I asked for additional physical therapy to help increase my knee bend. One year later, and with the extra physical therapy, I feel good and have returned to many of my normal activities. My experience with Dr. Zlotnicki was very positive.

The insurance has contacted the doctors office and each time been passed around from department to department after being on the phone for long durations each time and would have to hang up due to time waiting. Then go to CONA Carolina Orthopedic Surgeons emergency clinic on Saturday to be rudely told by another PA that he would refer me for an MRI and then after that schedule to see a sports medicine doctor. He would call in a anti inflammatory. Office closed at 1pm and 3 hours later no prescription called in. This PA suggested going to another ER. I had suffered for many years with bad pain in my hips and legs. Everyone, including other doctors,…read moreassumed it was my hips. But, yet I kept being told that my hips weren't bad enough for surgery. I switched to S.E. Sports Medicine and was immediately diagnosed with Trendelenburg Gait, meaning my glueteus medius and gluteus minimus tendons were ripped and torn from the bone. After an MRI which clearly verified my condition, Dr. Matthew Wham said that he could repair this. Because of my age, he couldn't be sure of the damage and atrophy until he got into the surgery, but he was hopeful. The surgery went VERY well! The 8 inch incision with 20 or more staples hardly hurt at all, and I am a real pain wuss. In 3 days I was up and using a walker, and I am in a brace from my hip to my knee for 2months, but I can tell that my previous constant pain down my right hip and leg is gone. Dr. Wham is amazing, and I would advise you to goggle him for his specialties and se if he can change your life, too!

He allows me to decide my course of treatment, as opposed to pushing me in one direction or the other. If you need to get trigger point injections, they do them at the office. For more invasive treatments, you have to go to one of the Charlotte locations. Thankfully one of them is just off 485, about 10-15 minutes from the Concord office. I am so glad I was referred to this office. The doctors are excellent and the staff are so friendly. I highly recommend this practice to anyone that needs this type of support. Dr. Thakur is amazing. He manages my back and neck area. Dr. Messick manages my shoulder. I appreciate them tremendously. I promise you will not be disappointed. Be well!

I did not see him the day of my surgery, he spoke with my fiancé about what happened during my surgery and not me. My fiancé didn't understand anything he told him. Dr. Maitra had is rude PA meet with me after surgery who was rude and gave no information on what happened with my surgery. I was told to keep my leg locked longer than it sh have been, which created me to lose mobility in my knee. So, now I switched orthopedics to help fix my knee or have them go back in to fix what Dr. Maitra messed up. I will never go back to OrthoCarolina in Gastonia if I can help it. The absolute worst.

He explains things in a thorough and kind manner and never makes one feel foolish while asking questions. He does his rounds daily at the hospital before office hours. (He also has an office in Mooresville.) Everyone here was pleasant, efficient and helpful. They return calls promptly and go out of their way with prescription refills and appointments with other places. They have their own X-ray room, which is very convenient. The building is small, but very clean and easily navigable. The handicapped spots are right outside the door but if they are full, there are plenty of other spots just as close.
