If you look for tickets on-line, the Nats will force you to create an account with MLB.com -- a task which is somewhat involved since I have no interest in buying the team and only want two tix. As the Nats run a cash-free organization, the easiest thing to do is go to their ticket office directly outside the center field gate and they'll text you two tix without the MLB nonsense. Being an avid ticket stub collector, I should deduct a star but what the hell, the evening was a blast. A beautiful ballpark and a great time. Five easy stars.

Went to free Wolf Trap concert + fireworks ! and honestly it was even better than one of the…read moreKennedy Center concerts I went to recently, which left me really disappointed. Maybe it's partially because it's free or opening concert that is intended to make you want to attend more paid concerts at venues, but the Marching Band and camera work/acoustics were pretty stunning. There were covers of Wicked (woman also narrated and blew me away with her vocal range-really moving) and a jazz duet that made it not seem boring..for the first time in my life. Everyone in the band is super talented and locked in-really inspiring-you can see they're bringing the energy and giving it their all. The weather was a bit rainy so seating requires extra preparation, but concert was really exciting. This Marching Band has been around since the time of Thomas Jefferson's inauguration and is around 230 years old, almost as old as the founding of the country. The concert was for Memorial Day and I'm someone who's skeptical of everything, but I also was feeling a bit patriotic in the end of with all the talent. The fireworks were pretty impressive too. Bathrooms outside were accessible with minimal lines. To get to the actual venue, there's a bit of a hike up from the parking but there are also a few people driving some carts up for free and I got to ride that too. Some of the direction and blocking off to direct into parking was awkward and require a roundabout drive. Parking can also be a bit crowded, but there was plenty-just be careful driving out of the venue with the traffic because noted there's some impatient/aggressive drivers. There was also some smoke from the fireworks that create what looks like a fog when you walk back down to parking. You can arrive early for better seating, but I was fine going there shortly before the concert starting. Alcoholic drinks are free for beer or wine... anything you pay... as the bartender told us numerous times as a way to get tipped. So bring cash... so you can tip. We left 10 bucks on the first drink order and it wasn't enough for her to remember us even with no one else at the bar on a Tuesday night game lol. I don't know ... I looked up how much it was to get in and looked like 165. I'd say show up at the gates and get the 5 dollar ticket and spend the rest on drinks and alcohol before going into the diamond club. The team does have a "pride' night as one of the WNBA's initiatives. One nice thing it they have a table at the University of Maryland Women's hoop games. I wish the rest of the league could do this, maybe make it "Be a women's basketball fan for all seasons" post season initiative.

My dream scenario would be getting rid of VIP and just selling one type of ticket. Pricing is cheaper when you buy four tickets. There aren't lots of food choices but you can find some Irish themed munchies. Most attendees dress in costume, which makes the event festive and fun. Wear comfy shoes since you are basically walking around a giant parking lot. The "bathrooms" are porta pots. The artist lineup is featured on the Facebook and Twitter pages of Shamrockfest. If you exit the area, you can't return.

I love Hierarchy…read more The handful of times I've been, I've always been drawn to whatever is being featured for their monthly exhibits. The art is incredibly creative, fresh and often a little quirky. Also, it's worth mentioning that every time I've been to Hierarchy it's been for a special event, so if you're looking for a venue host it may be worth exploring. There is a bar (not sure if it's always staffed) and the space is small enough to not feel overwhelming since you can eyeball everyone else that's there with ease, more or less. I was a fan of No Kings Collective from afar before even realizing their association with the Popal family (partners and owners of Napoleon.) If you're not familiar with their work 1) Look 'em up! 2) Check out Hierarchy!

I had the opportunity to participate in the sat intro class and although I am a long, long way from fit - and although I've always been intimidated by the 'box' phenomena - I not only got a great workout but I also felt encouraged and welcome. All that plus it's obvious that these folks are: 1. serious about helping ppl meet their goals (and meeting ppl where they are at). 2. building a supportive and inclusive community. 3. spending the time and giving enough one-on-one attention to ensure folks get the support they need to be on point in terms of form and movement.
