I didn't really know what to expect from our tour on the Mississippi from reading your website, but I figured it would be, at the very least, an experience. It was much more. My family and I had a blast. It was one of the most memorable evenings of the summer for me, and provided us with a snapshot of Minneapolis I've not had the privilege to see. We were completely captivated. You couldn't have been more pleasant, and the food/drinks at the end were worth the wait. As we were driving over the Broadway bridge at 10:30 pm, I looked down at the river and thought, wouldn't it be great to be doing that right now in complete darkness, the skyline would be spectacular! Thanks to all of you for bringing this experience to the public, and specifically sharing it with us. We're very grateful. We'll be telling our friends and hope they come knocking. This was the greatest fun I've had all summer!! I had never done this before, and wasn't sure how difficult it would be. It was easy! The speed of the Mississippi River is perfect - it keeps you going and you use the paddle mostly to steer. The scenery changes from natural to industrial to urban, right before your eyes. The water is clear and fun to jump in and swim if you want, or just stand up or go on your knees on the board. I have been on the river many times, but I never saw it from this perspective or enjoyed it so much! Your core is used to maintain balance, but you feel more energized than tired when done. Top it off at Psycho Suzy's and it is truly a day to remember. Best $ I've spent on an event. The perfect double date - and one that no one will ever forget!! read more

The actual trip down the river was baller. Super chill guides with interesting facts about the stretch of river, the history, the cleanliness, etc. The GoPro movie and photos was even more fun to digest after the tour. Austin does a phenomenal job of orchestrating a total package experience. From group photos to river safety lessons, StandUp is a unique company in that this local company is daring to pioneer the belief that the Mississippi is valuable and reclaimable. Stand up and get on board. My knees were a bit shaky to start, but my sea legs came. We had a fantastic time with StandUp MN! The river was beautiful, and going down on paddleboards was a unique way to experience it. Our guides were excellent, personable, thorough, and very knowledgeable about the river and the surrounding area. The trip is a great new way to experience Minneapolis. What an awesome experience!! it was our first time ever! The guides were amazing, helpful, informative and great people!!! Austin was wonderful!! He was so thorough with his instructing and "how to's" for paddle boarding that by the time we actually were doing it~ the fears were replaced with confidence/knowledge- we really had a blast!! For anyone on the fence because of fear of falling in or what have you.....The board is amazingly stable~ Its a very comfortable ride- which is beautiful and peaceful! The Stand Up MN tours are a great time. The business is just getting off the ground in the summer of 2011, but it features some guides that are passionate about the Mississippi River and really want to enjoy yourself. If you are concerned about falling off, or looking silly - don't be! It's an easy activity to learn, and you can paddle on your knees for for (or all of the trip) with minimal stress on your butt, back, and leg muscles. This is a great company. The guides are very helpful, provide great service, the equipment is great and the food is amazing. This was my first time paddle boarding and the guide did a great job showing me the ropes. My group went on an "Extended" tour of Mississippi river and it truly was amazing. We saw a ton of wildlife and had dinner on this cool sandy island with a rope swing. The evening was topped off with post-ride cocktails at Psycho Suzy's (the final destination of the trip) I will definitely be back and recommended it to many friends. Went on a paddleboard tour down the Mississippi River a couple weeks ago in the evening and had an AMAZING time! It was my first time so I was a little nervous, but our guides were so helpful and experienced that my nerves went away quickly. We got all the equipment we needed and an orientation before we hit the river. Austin made sure that we were doing okay and having a good time. Overall it was an a wonderful experience. So fun and relaxing. It let me see Minneapolis in a new way. I hope to do it again soon and I definitely recommend that everyone check out StandUpMN! read more

My husband and I took the two hour afternoon tour. I appreciated the orientation on land and then time to stand up on the board in the river before we started moving as a group. It is true that beginners can do it although I admit we had a calm day. Our actual time on the water was probably an hour which was ok for the first time. They said it varies depending on the speed of the current from day to day. I would love to do this again in the early morning or evening. Its a great way to see the Mississippi and the Minneapolis skyline from a different vantage point. read more

The trip was a personalized for my group and rich in new experience! From our first meeting point at the landing, the staff met us with big smile and friendly attitudes. I felt comforted and safe-- especially through the safety/ paddling talks before we got on the river. I loved that I didn't need to bring anything-- the guides took great photos and video and even sent us our own personalized video after the trip! Mark my words--this business is going to take off here in Mpls, home of the hip and nature-loving. Get in while you can. We parked the kids @ nature camp and had a Thurs. afternoon date with SUM. The guides couldn't have been nicer, and paddleboarding itself is the best "silent sport" I've tried yet--even better than kayaking, X country skiing, rollerblading, canoeing, tubing...we're smitten. I bought a GROUPON for a 90 minute paddle and it was a perfect way to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. Austin is a super guide - very knowledgeable and patient - and the tour was beautiful. I saw a side of Minneapolis I've never seen before. The delicious lunch from Common Roots plus the drinks at Psycho Suzie's made the whole afternoon complete. We really enjoyed our tour on the Mighty Mississippi with Austin. He helped us feel comfortable on the paddleboards even though it was our first time riding. We had a great time and enjoyed the unique views of the river and all of the wildlife. We saw nesting blue herons right over head on a great island where we had a tasty localy produced snack. I would highly recommend this for anyone who likes the outdoors. It is a good core workout and lots of fun. read more

Austin was a great guide/host, we bought this as a groupon deal for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only stood up twice so it was more like kneel down paddle-boarding but I had alot of fun and my body is still feeling it even after a week. Excellent exercise. I plan on investing in a couple boards and paddles someday soon. The food was interesting and the scenes were amazing. Would recommend to pretty much anyone read more

This was the most fun that I had in a while. I did a tour with my siblings for my birthday and it was amazing. It was great for ANY athletic ability. The tour guide was awesome! He encouraged us and just thoroughly liked his job. Funny thing was that it was awful weather but we toughed it out and it ended up being great! Went out paddleboarding for my bday--was a great activity to do with friends. We had a lot of fun! We even saw a beaver swimming. I don't think any of us have been on the Mississippi River like that before ~ so it was great to spend some quality time on it. We went in the late evening and the water was perfect--very peaceful.
