Trash af. I'm still on the phone with them it's been over 2 hours. I called to add my children to a vision plan. Since calling they deleted the kids dental plan. Added a dental plan but didn't include my daughter. Deleted that again and nuked my account. Added my kids again to a dental plan. Which they can't use services until Jan. And they made me a new account (twice). Keep in mind all I needed to do was add them to a vision plan. So they did all this crap to be back to square one, actually worse. Bad customer service - telephone call to 877-888-3337 was required to change email address. It took about 90 minutes to to do this. Finally, I was able to talk with a human. A hostile woman took my call but refused provide any allowances for my hearing disability, bad nasty attitude - refused to talk louder and slower. It appeared that she did not like senior males. I asked for a supervisor and after 5 minutes another person took my call. With a moderate amount of difficulty I was able to verbally transmit my new email address. If these people are probably Federal employees paid by tax payers. Like my tax money paid for me to be treated like garbage? I am an 87 year old Viet Nam vet with hearing problems. Every time I hear about the Federal Civil Service work force being reduced gives me confidence because private non-government sources paid to perform will replace a bunch of lazy, nasty, overpaid, pension seeking individuals. I retired 9/1/23 from USPS. The PO has screwed up my retirement so I haven't been paid since. BENEFEDS sends me a bill every month along with a cutoff notice. I call every month & have been told to disregard cutoff notice & also that the amount owed is wrong. That is until this morning. Now I'm being told because they haven't deposited my check before the 15th of the month that I owe extra. This is an excuse to make extra money off of me. Horrible way to do business! read more

This place is a joke and a rip off! As a spouse of a military reservist who got suddenly deployed I nor my kids did not have vision or dental. We heard about this company so we signed up for their vision. When my husband returned home, we tried for months to cancel with no help only hang ups from the company. We would get notices in the mail and then all of a sudden they started deducting his drill pay. Now I call again to cancel and they tell me the only way to cancel out of the enrollment period is if I didn't have internet or there was a death in the family!! We do not need two or need to pay for two insurances. They are absolutely no help and very rude. We now have to pay for something we will not use for a whole year, what a way to screw over people. I am a retired federal employee. During the recent FEHB open season, I elected to change dental insurance for myself and my wife from Blue Cross to Aetna. This was on 12/5/2022. That same day so received an email from BENEFEDS confirming for my wife and I under Aetna dental beginning 1/1/2023. (I have a copy of that email). However, on 1/3/2023 her oral surgeon was unable to confirm her coverage with Aetna. When I called BENEFEDS they said I had elected self only coverage. Even after I forwarded them a copy of their email showing I had elected self plus one, they still refuse to correct the error!!! read more

Do your research this place is ripping you off. They have zero oversite. They have been taking my money out of my paycheck sense 2018 not even a presidential representative from the pentagon was able to get them to stop. Look up how much money they take in every year. Where does it all go? They have managed to pass several laws least of which says that defas can not stop your alloyment to them. Benifeds has caused so much trauma in my life!!! I have paid so much money, that not only did I not only owe, but when I do only to keep my insurance they want MORE! Even when I receive a letter from their office stating that I have paid...They cancel my insurance and ask for more money to reinstate my insurance! I called today about an issue on my dental insurance. The reps were not understanding and clueless and I asked for their manager. Five to ten minutes later, they gave me an excuse that there were 2 managers there and they failed to patch my call to them. The reps said that a manager will respond on the next business day. I received a Notice of Annuity Adjustment and I noticed a deduction for 41.69 to BENEFEDS.When I attempted to cancel the deduction,I was told I could not cancel until November open season I am retired and need MY MONEY! Before Obamacare there was BENEFEDS. It is the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program and it's the only option for federal employees. The problem is that BENEFEDS refuses to set up seasonal employee accounts (half of all IRS employees are seasonal). They allow "accelerated" billing (pay the premium in less than 12 months), but employees must reset the payment period every year ! To make this harder, users can't do this through the website, forcing users to call the company. This year's experience pushed me over the edge. After navigating my way through their phone maze to a billings & payment "expert". The "expert " told me (in a thick foreign accent) that I needed to call back in January. I explained to the "expert" that this was "open season", the only time changes are allowable, and that I had been doing this for years. He relented, put me on hold, and talked to a supervisor. The "expert" got back to me, informing me he would complete my billing request. Your tax dollars at work. read more

All I can say is typical government program. For almost a year I have been lied to by their customer service reps. It took them almost a year to tell me that I am not eligible. I have been paying premiums for months for nothing. I can only use words like Gross Incompetence, Liars!!!!, and frauds. I am not finished with them. I plan on sending letters to everyone I can think of. The way they treat the family survivors is unbelievable. I know they don't care, and neither does the government. That is quite obvious. This place is a joke and a rip off! As a spouse of a military retiree, I do not have vision or dental. I have Tricare for Life but they don't cover vision or dental. My husband has 100% VA so he gets his dental and vision provided through the VA. I had been receiving countless notices about signing up for this service. During the enrollment period I signed up for just the vision and my husband had to be on the phone to authorize it as the servicemember. In January I started receiving emails that they could not find my account with the military to take the premiums out of my check. I emailed them that I am not the servicemember and to send me bill for 43.29 an I paid it. I received another bill for $14 and I paid that on 4/7/19. Today I received a call from a man from Benefeds saying that there has been a mistake and that I am only eligible for dental and vision coverage if my husband signs up for it too. I told the man that I didn't understand since I made it very clear and it was very clear to the person that I signed up with on the phone that My husband did not need the insurance because of his VA benefits. This gentleman that I was speaking to said that they must've made a mistake and I could not continue with benefits if my husband did not join. I asked about my premiums that I've been paying and he said there would be no reimbursement because I was covered at that time. We live in a small beach community in Washington state and at the time I checked there were several optometrists in the area that took VSP according to the information that Benefeds published. I have been trying to locate an optometrist within 25 miles of my home and haven't found one that still participates in VSP. So I have gotten nothing out of this plan! Wouldn't enroll me from Automatic Bank Withdraw without filling out their specific form, This is in fact illegal according to the federal goverment.... so you don't even follow your own rules and regulations? Faxed them a Cease and Desist that they claimed they wouldn't accept along with the seven-tee something page Law showing that they indeed had to stop automatic withdraws from my bank. Ever since I have received terrible service, they refuse to live up to a verbal agreement made at the begining of all of this and are now demanding all money that is due. The only reason I owed three months in the first place is their failure to automatically deduct it from my pay and they never contacted me to notify me they weren't receiving payment. I've honestly worked with more professional 11 year olds in Afghanistan. Now they are crediting my account without ever withdrawing the money from my bank account. YOUR ONLY JOB IS TO COLLECT PAYMENT and of the seven months I've been stuck with them only three payments have gone through without requiring hours of phone calls. The service providers are good but Benefeds itself is horrible. They refused to take a payment from me for January when i called to pay. They told me they were going to deduct it from my retired pay. I informed them it was from the VA and just asked to pay them directly but the said no and they was no chance of me being double tapped for the payment not being made in Jan. Suprise suprise that was a lie. They informed me that they were not allowed to draw from my pay and i need to set up a bank withdrawal. Once i did this they told me they were going to charge me twice in Mar even though on tape i was told there was no chance of it happening. I explained this to a fedbed higher manager SUE MCDONALD who got pissy with me even after she reviewed the tape. To be fare once she was rude i felt no need to be pleasant with her. Signed up with Benefeds. They've been taking my money since 01/01/15. My adult kid is disabled. Now, after taking my money and my disabled kid has used this benefit, they now have removed my disabled kid and request that they be sent proof that my kid is disabled and sick as a child. WTF? And they expect ORIGINALS!!!! Original Award Docs WE WILL NOT send to them. This so-called benefit does NOT pay too well at all either, so EXPECT a bill from the doctor. PURE JUNK. read more
