I was at the flea market in Ephrata, ran in the rep and she told me about her winery Benigna,...so me being the curious soul drove from Shrewsbury up here, what a wonderful scenic drive unfortunately I arrived at 5 on a Friday and they were closed. But this understanding and accommodating lady allowed us to use the facilities and was willing to let us buy a couple bottles of their vino and sit on their beautiful deck and enjoy the gorgeous view... Brought 2 bottles grabbed a couple of and enjoyed bottles the sweet blush and a berry wine. The blue is good very good saving the berry for later. But a little music from my iPhone and a view works! They have a couple of flea market locations but the winery is definitely worth the trip. read more

Beautiful winery with ample seating inside and out. They have a large selection of wines ranging from dry-sweet. They offer cheese and crackers for a picnic at a reasonable price and will even give you a knife and plates to enjoy while you are there. The views are amazing off the back patio. read more

My friend took me to Benigna's during a weekend visit with her! It was a rainy and cold day, so I wasn't able to take in much but it appeared that it was a beautiful vineyard. The building we went into for the wine tasting was beautiful and decorated for a Valentine's Day event they were holding that evening. My friend and I personally like sweet wines so we tried mostly those. There were so many to choose from! I tasted Liberty White, Belle, Sunshine and BC Blush. I liked the Blush so much I took a bottle home! Between Belle and Sunshine, I liked Belle better. What I thought was cool about Benigna's was they had displayed all of their wines with the medals that they had won at festivals and other contests! I thought it was neat to see which wines did the best. I definitely recommend checking this winery out. They seem to have a lot of events happening throughout the year. If I lived closer, I probably would go! read more

One of my favorite wineries to visit. The view is amazing, there is a large porch with a bunch of tables to sit and have some wine and snacks. They have a great variety of wine from sweet to dry and fruit and ice wines. They make THE best blueberry wine I've ever had and I'm a wino--so I've tried it everywhere I go! :) I love visiting different wineries and have even been to the Finger Lakes multiple times. This place is definitely high on my list of faves and I'm so glad they aren't too far away! I definitely recommend a visit, especially when they have one of their many events that they host during the year. The people here are phenomenal, so friendly and helpful. read more

My grandparents live out near here, and introduced my immediate family to Benigna's Creek's wines a few years back over thanksgiving dinner. Since I turned 21, I've made a habit of stopping by to pick up a few bottles on the way out to school each fall. Initially, at least, they chose to focus primarily on heavier, sweeter wines, including several pure-berry wines and a particularly good late harvest ice wine. Though they've since expanded their reach into drier wines, their earlier, sweeter vintages remain my favorites, and their strongest wines. They've done particularly well in competitions with their fruit wines. By far my favorite, and an essential component of my stockpile, is their late harvest ice wine; sweet and fruity, with apricot notes and about 14% RS, it can only be used as a dessert wine, but fills that role admirably. Their all-blueberry and all-strawberry wines are also excellent, as is the house Benigna's Red. My tastes in wine generally tend towards the sweet and fruity, so this is an ideal winery for me; I'm perfectly aware, however, that not everyone's tastes are as mine. Unfortunately, their drier wines aren't quite as polished as their early, sweet vintages. The semi-sweet wines, in particular, are still sweet enough to qualify as sweet under most criteria, and they've yet to fully balance some of their dry vintages. Nonetheless, for dessert, berry, and sweet wines, it's hard to top Benigna's vintages. It's even harder to top their prices; located in rural Central PA, their production cost seems to be significantly lower than their suburban competitors in the Philly area, and it shows in prices which are, bottle-for-bottle, about 20-30% lower. They also hold regular tastings and tours of the vineyard, and participate in most central PA wine festivals. It's definitely worth the time to stop in for a visit if you're in the area or just passing through. read more

We have been to Benigna's two times now for the Lighting of the Vineyard. Very nice winery with beautiful view. Great tasting room and deck to drink a glass of wine. The wines are okay. Very sweet which is indicative of the area. Definitely try the BC Red and the Late Harvest. read more

The ONLY good thing that this winery has going for itself is the location/venue. I recently attended a wedding at Benigna's and I can honestly say I would NEVER go back again. The food was poor, the wine was sub-par (unless you like grape juice), and the customer service was ATROCIOUS. The view around the building and the design inside is beautiful, it really is. But that a good venue does not make! The staff was rude and condescending, with one particular blonde woman (who appeared to be a manger) who was the absolute worst. In addition to all of that, they have "rules" that make no sense! Upon arrival, we learned that our only options for beverages were water, wine, lemonade, and iced tea. No liquor, no beer, no soda!! Personally, I have seen wedding receptions run without liquor, but no beer? No soda? Strange. Then! To put the cherry on the cake, following the outdoor ceremony, guests were instructed to go into the venue for "cocktail hour." Right. When I got up to the bar I was informed (insert rude blonde woman) that... And I quote " wine will not be served until after the toast." What?!? So let me get this straight... We have to wait until AFTER the COCKTAIL HOUR to have a glass of wine?? At a WINERY? They did have out some pre-mixed "wine lemonade" and "wine tea" which had about as much booze as a Shirley Temple. Last but certainly not least, when the staff was approached by the mother of the bride about their rudeness, she was not met with an apology or with an attempt to right the wrong, she was simply told "Well I think your guests are questionable." I don't care how good you think you are... you have NO RIGHT to say that to a customer who just spent a pile of money at your venue. As a soon-to-bride myself, I would have been horrified to have this said to my family. This family run business needs to get someone in there who actually understands customer service and hospitality management. If you are a bride considering this venue, please Please PLEASE do not walk, RUN in the opposite direction. I am not a usual online reviewer, but I felt so strongly about how awful this venue was that, well, here I am! read more

Loved it! Stopped by during their pig roast in July, so it was quite hot. That being the case, we stuck to the whites - since they were chilled. Loved the Delicioso Sol and the Sunshine, wonderful for a warm summer evening. They also have a good selection of fruit/berry wines. I got a bottle of the blueberry and just made a BBQ sauce with it - gave AMAZING flavor - used the rest to dribble over vanilla ice cream - yummmmy. They have a wonderful deck where you can sit out looking out over the vineyard, the tasting room is well laid out. They also sell some local cheeses - sipping wine, crackers and cheese - what's not to like. I would definitely recommend stopping by for a test if you're in the area. read more

I recently attended a wedding here and I don't think I could EVER recommend Benigna's to anyone. Other than the breath taking scenery and the beautiful building I think this winery should stick to making wine and leave catering to professionals who know how to provide customer service and a decent meal. Not only was the food (the meats) so dry you could hardly swallow them but I found the staff to be rude and condescending. I also think doing "wine tasting" and charging people for wine during what was supposed to be "cocktail hour" is extremely tacky. I am not necessarily a beer drinker, but I found it inconsiderate to their guests for a venue to only offer their own product at an affair that I'm sure was not cheap. It seemed like the affair was being run by a bunch of disgruntled women who didn't want to be there. There seemed to be a lot of "rules" at this venue. I don't mind following rules but I felt looked down upon by most members of the staff. I truly felt sorry for the family of the bride and groom. read more

our first visit was the first harvest fest 9/21/13, very nice place, great views ,very friendly staff, wine makers are extremely knowledgable good food, great selection of wine and cheese ,sat outside on the deck and took in the view and had a bottle, very relaxing will def be back in the fall read more

I just had a wedding here on 9/7/13. The place is very nice however I WILL NEVER go to this winery again. The staff was extremely rude to my guests. We also had a cocktail hour for our guests while we went to get pictures. THey refused to have the cocktail hour after the wine was already paid for. My bridal party was also to get a big bottle of wine for gift, which was never given to them. It was paid for and we were never given our money back. I had to use their bathroom before I was walking down the aisle and they yelled at me because I was disturbing their guest. Which brings up another point. They kept their store open while I was having my wedding. The venue is not cheap and includes absolutely nothing with it! There are other wineries that will treat you better. Anyone planning a wedding at a winery. I STRONGLY ADVISE to pick another winery. They are a rip off and are extremely RUDE!!! read more
