One of the worst doctors offices ever. ( In Santa Monica) The staff is rude and incompetent. They don't return calls they don't refill prescriptions unless the pharmacist or the patient calls several times. I had to actually threaten them with filing with the Medical board before they finally put thru the prescription that I have to be on or I could get sick.  Ruth Gabbay, nurse practitioner,is the only decent friendly person there. The only reason I stayed there as long as I did was because I liked her. She did a fantastic job. I've had to complain about the rude office workers several times to my insurance.  Dr Behroozan is incompetent. The last time I saw him which I really didn't want to see him but Ruth was not available, he couldn't remember anything. I can't believe this man is still practicing medicine. I had a horrible experience with him when my daughter was a newborn. He called a 4 month old baby fat. Asked "why is she so fat?" and wouldn't give me a referral to have her formula changed when the one she was currently on had way too much iron and would make her constipated every day. Dr. Benjamin Behroozan is a great doctor. He is caring, professional and competent. He once was an advocate for me in a medical situation I had that needed professional advocacy and he bravely challenged the situation and helped me to find a much better solution. Don't be turned off by the appearance of the building on Lincoln Blvd., in outskirts of Santa Monica that one of his two offices is in, the other one being on Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, nor by the staff that vary from sweet and caring, efficient, to not. I notice that he is moving in the direction of more professional staff and he patiently teaches them how to navigate the complex jobs. The Lincoln Blvd. one is being renovated on the outside and it is not even clear at first glance that a doctor's office is inside and active. You go in through the scaffolding entrance on the side. There has always been signage for other medical offices, even one for a dentist with same last name but not one for his office; go in, turn left and go up stairs and into large lobby where staff office is. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called to get a referral for a very specific ENT, which I told the lady on the phone. The day of my appointment, I had to wait over an hour to see the doctor (for a referral) just to find out that the ENT I told them I want to see was not in their network and I can't get the referral to him. I spent $65 for the office visit, took half the day off work, drive though half LA in traffic for nothing. Now I won't even get my $65 back and the doctor just hid in his office and let his nurse talk to me. read more

Please please please don't trust "Dr." Behroozan with your newborn baby's. I had a little girl 8 months ago and he was the pediatrician on call in the hospital the day of my delivery. He checked my baby's bilirubin levels the day she was born and he said they are higher than expected, so he said he will check again the next day again. Turns out her bilirubin levels doubled. And he said it's ok to go home and to come back in 48 hours to check again. So we went to do blood work and then I asked when I would get my baby's results and they just said, " you can go home now, the doctor will call you". We went home and had lunch and then the father of my child received a call from Dr.Behroozan saying we need to take my baby to the emergency room right now and starts blaming me that I don't answer my phone. He said the baby's bilirubin was way too high and the baby is in danger of BRAIN DAMAGE! My baby indeed got brain damage because of him and not caring about his patients. HIS STAFF WROTE DOWN MY NUMBER WRONG. SO IT TOOK THEM 5 HOURS TO GEY IN TOUCH WITH ME!!! My baby had to receive a blood transfusion and was in the NICU for 1 week. The doctors told me that we shouldn't of been discharged from the hospital in the first place. When my baby was discharged from the NICU they told us to go see Dr.Behroozan for a follow up. I knew he felt guilty because he kept apologizing all the time and giving me free formula and said to keep coming for more and to text him with whatever I needed. I texted him when my daughter had gotten a rash and he said it was a milk allergy. So he switched her milk. And then again, and again. He switched her milk 5 times!!!!!!! I blame myself for everything that happened to my daughter. I finally took her to the hospital and let them know that she has been constipated for 5 days and that her doctor has been switching her milks 5 times already. And that doctor told me " find another doctor, he is harming your baby". Turns out she never had a milk allergy. HE'S A EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DOCTOR!!!! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HIM!! read more

I love Dr. Behroozan! He diagnosed a thyroid disease and cholesterol problems that other doctors missed. His first questions were "What are you eating?" and "Do you exercise?" before jumping into prescribing medications. He takes his time with patients and you feel that he really cares about you as an individual. Dr. Behroozan was one of the doctors who assisted with my birth. This was in 1992. My mother took me to him as a child, and I stopped seeing him in my late teens. I recall him having ridiculously long wait times simply to see him. With all of the labs he ordered, he couldn't pinpoint my sister's immune system issue. This doctor is AWFUL. Stay away from him. I moved out to LA and just went with the default doctor suggested by Blue Cross. Man was that a mistake. I've never had any issues with my doctors in the past, but going to him actually made me feel more stressed out and angry, and he didn't even diagnose me well. He is uncurtious, unresponsive, and the whole office is just very unprofessional. I originally went to him to get a physical, and waited 50 minutes to see him for maybe 5 minutes. He just referred me off to another lab for a blood test, took my EKG and blood pressure, and that's really it. Hell I could have done a physical in that case. When I told him about a lump on my leg, he referred me to yet another place for an X-Ray. That would have been ok, but apparently he ordered the X-Ray on the wrong part of my leg! Luckily I called the facility before hand to verify what they were going to do, and had to coordinate between Behroozan's office and the X-Ray lab to get approvals all over again. After all the blood work and X-Rays were done (outside at other facilities), he made me come in for a follow-up. I tried calling him for a week to get the results over the phone, and he still didn't return my calls or talk to me until I hassled enough every day. The follow-up entailed getting there at 9AM, waiting for 1.25 hours, talking to a student intern doctor for 10 minutes, and him for 2 minutes. COMPLETELY WORTHLESS. Thanks for taking my money and providing no value as a doctor. He should get his license revoked. read more

I was in so much pain from a UTI and in tears in his office, Dr Behroozan says to me "you're a nurse, why are you crying, you're fine". I was so offended and disgusted to hear him put me down for my feelings; for my pain. And for being human. I was grateful to be able to see a doctor and get blood results but he was such an ass when he read me back my results. He loudly shouted to me on the phone "you have extremely low white blood cells and hyper active thyroid. You are very sick and need to be put on medicine right now ". I was very disappointed but also not surprised that he jumped right to medication and failed to offer any natural remedies or alternatives to my condition. Dr Behroozan also failed to encourage further testing to see what was really going on which did not seem very professional or Smart for being a doctor . Literally the worst. Writing this review 3 months after our appointment. My son was a 1st time patient so we showed up about 20 minutes before our appointment- pretty standard to fill out paperwork- the place was locked up tight. Very confused, but with my 6 month old son and 6 year old niece in tow...we pop across the street to kill time and grab a couple toys at the 99 cent store. We walk back over a few minutes before our appointment time - still locked. (I should have mentioned that it's raining. Not hard, but it's wet out and I have 2 small kids and no car). Finally, right as I'm about to leave, right at our appointment time, a nurse appears and opens the door. Yay! I think. We've made it to...a hallway. By this time a dad has rolled up with his baby, and the nurse disappeared, I think to open the office from the inside. No, they just left us, me, the other dad, and now 3 small kids, in a tiny corridor. Remember it's raining out, so I can't go back outside. She left us standing there for a solid 10 minutes. Really?? I'm thinking. You can't let us into the waiting room where there's space and chairs? I'm pretty pissed by this point, but my son needs his vaccines, and I assume since there is only one other family there it'll be pretty fast, right? No. So now it's a solid 15 minutes after my appointment time, and we finally make it into the waiting room, where I have to fill out paperwork with two cranky kids who have already been waiting around for like 45 minutes. If you've ever filled out paperwork with a rowdy baby, it's a nightmare. No one offers to help. My niece is being a trooper but I can tell she's loosing patience. She's trying to help entertain my son but she isn't big enough to physically hold him, so there's only so much she can do. Finally I get enough info scribbled on the intake sheets and pass them over. After a while they take us back to weigh and measure my son, and then escort us back to the waiting room saying "the doctor isn't here yet" EXCUSE ME WHAT?! It's now over an hour past our appointment time and the doctor ISNT HERE? I'm livid, but we've made it this long. I'm determined not to leave without vaccines as he's already behind. There are more patients in the waiting room now. Many more. I put on a happy face and do my best to entertain the kids. I notice that it's stopped raining and take them outside to play in the tint spot of grass - I'm getting claustrophobic and the waiting room is getting crowded with tiny humans who are too young to be vaccinated. We get called to see the doctor. Finally! He - very rushed - looks over my baby, barely says two words to me, and that's it. He's gone. A nurse is walking us back to the waiting room saying they'll call us for vaccines. My niece is looking at me panicked. I know, I say. It's the last thing tho. We can wait a little longer. We'll get a treat after. Back to the plot of grass. It's drizzling, but I don't care. The waiting room is PACKED - it can't be covid safe. My niece can't sit still any more, I'm confused by the other babies sitting content in their strollers or car seats....by baby is NOT content to sit. Finally we are called back again and two rushed nurses give my son his vaccines. My niece is crying (she's scared, even tho she's not the one getting shots, and the nurses are not being comforting to anyone) In the end we were there for over 3 hours. I left with 2 sobbing kids and barely holding my shit together. I asked the father, the first one who waited in the tiny corridor with us, if he was always there that long and if it was always this busy. He said yes, this was typical. I said awesome we definitely won't be back. Thankfully the rain stopped and we fixed our woes with toys and French fries and promises never to return. Then they always want you to come in to go over your test results. Every time nothing has been wrong with my test results. I literally go in wait for 3 hours for them to spend 5 min with me to tell me nothing is wrong. Right now there is COVID 19 and they want me to come in to go over test results I received from when I went to the hospital for my stomach. I told them my test came back inconclusive and I just want the dr to tell me what to do. They want me to come in and possible get infected from covid for them to give me some bs answer. Probably the worst doctors office I've ever been to. Took a week to get an appointment, took an hour and a half in the waiting room (and a half hour of being moved to 2 other rooms for some reason). Today was the first time I actually saw the doctor (I'd been tossed over to somebody else before). I've been having ear issues, and upon looking in my ears, he said, "there's nothing wrong". Yep. I'm just making it all up. He then left the nozzle on the ear scope and hung it back up (seems unsanitary) and kept pulling his mask down to itch his nose. Also unsanitary. Unbelievable. Worst doctor I've ever visited, and I've been to doctors in third-world countries in scary, back alley-looking offices. For once in my life, I feel more care and comfort from a search bar on WebMD than an actual human being. First visit - Wait for about an hour only to eventually be seen by two bumbling medical students, one of whom seems to have 5-second amnesia like Ellen in Finding Nemo because he asked me the same question three times and forgetting each time what I said. In walks the "Doctor" (Behroozan), and he literally doesn't even look or talk to me the entire two minutes I see him. He just talks to the med students and then sends me to go get tests, which turn out to be another type of hell. The entire office is run poorly. They sent me to get tests and didn't even bother to send the doctor's orders so I ended up waiting almost 3 hours at the imaging center because the people couldn't send a goddamn fax. Second visit (follow-up) - Another hour+ wait. Wow, he actually talks to me this time. No, not to address any of my original issues, but just to rifle through papers and tell me they didn't find anything. At that point he definitely wants to get rid of me, but I (so rudely, apparently) ask him more questions because my condition has gotten worse from the first visit. He is visibly annoyed that he has to talk to me any longer. He does a lot of dismissive hand gesturing. His attending med student this time actually sounds more knowledgable than he does. He schedules me for more tests. I will not be going to them, I will be changing doctors, or just taking my chances on the Internet. Dr. Behrozvan is a crusty old man who probably hates everyone who steps into his office. He is House M.D. only inept, no witty charm, and lacking any sign of a soul. So a terrible comparison then. Let's just say he's a grumpy old man who for some reason has a doctor's license. I am fearful of this guy practicing medicine because I feel anyone who trusts him with their health is in danger of negligence. I should have read the Yelp reviews before I went. Your best bet is to get one of those kiddie doctor kits, a connection to WebMD and some pain killers, because that's what you'll need to do after visiting this doctor. Dr. Benjamin Behroozan apparently moved, because my last two appointments were at 2221 Lincoln Blvd in Santa Monica, but apparently the level of quality has not changed. New job, new insurance and so I make an appointment to get a prescription refilled and my annual checkup. All goes well and I'm told to come back in two weeks for my blood-test results. Two weeks later, I go and after sitting in the office for twenty minutes, the doctor calls and cancels telling the nurse he had an emergency at the hospital. That happens, so no biggie, and I rescheduled for the following week. Keep in mind, like many, I have an extremely busy schedule and these 8am appointments are challenging as is. So this morning [today] I come back for appointment #3. The nurse did an EKG to make sure my heart was good and said the doctor will see you in a minute. 30 minutes after my appointment's start time, I ask the nurse if the doctor has arrived, she pages him and says he's stuck in traffic. I had to go to rush to a meeting and had to leave. Attempt #2 at seeing my doctor = FAIL. The nurses are nice and I feel bad that they have to apologize for the doctor's disorganization. The nurse says she will have the doctor call me with all results and updates on my prescription. Later that morning, the doctor calls and said he had an emergency with his mother and had to take her to the hospital. "Okay, so how were my tests?", I asked. He said my blood tests were great and started to end the call. "Okay, but what about the EKG and my prescription discussion?" He totally forgot about those. He then said he was going to write me a prescription for Ambien to help me sleep, before I stopped him to say that I never had a sleeping issue. So he was thinking of someone else or looking at the wrong papers. I don't know. As for the EKG, he said it was a little abnormal and that I should see a cardiologist!! He asked if I could come see him again next week. I asked why I needed to see him when I have PPO and could go see a cardiologist and he said, "that's fine too." WTF?????!!!!!!! I then expressed great concern on this abnormal EKG and asked what the issue was. He asked me if my chest hurt and I said no. He then said, "you should be fine then." Is this an SNL episode?! This is not something I want to base on a hunch, nor do I wish I spend more morning wasting time with this alleged doctor. I have never experienced such incompetence. I am finding a new doctor today. This guy also has family that in this building: one is a dentist and the other is a dermatologist. They will now all be losing my business due to Dr. Benjamin, as I was seeking appointments with both in the short-term. Three strikes and you're out. read more

I took my son for his vaccination appt and his regular checkup on february 8,2021 . I had taken him to emergency on January 10,2020 because I didn't know what my son had he kept crying a lot , throughout the entire day,and I told him what they told me at hospital and he told me if is not an emergency to don't take him. How do I suppose to know what he has I'm not a doctor.I personally didnt like the comment he made .I been going to his clinic for almost 4 years ,and all the time he is either in a bad mood or always in a hurry ,and In a blink of an eye that how he checks my sons and tell me that everything is ok when is not. My son still has thrust in his mouth and he didn't prescribe him anything. He told me that it was going to go away on is own. Imagine almost a month has passed and it hasn't cure.I told him they prescribe me medicine and that he finish it already.He cries for a purpose not only because he wants to cry he is bearly 3 months, and at that age they don't speak to tell me what is wrong with him. Every time I want to tell him something he doesn't let me speak. He looks mad all the time, I'm not happy with the service he is providing to my kids. He is primarily a pediatrician. If being stuck in a waiting room with a lot of sick babies and crying children is your idea of hell, he isn't for you. The other reviewers are correct in that you will rarely see Dr. Behroozan. I go to the office about once a year and I haven't seen the same doctor twice. Now, Dr. Behroozan and each of the other doctors have been very nice, but I can see how a young female asking about birth control would make him uncomfortable. He's very "old country." I also don't see any reason to make an appointment since I walked in once and got seen in about an hour and have made appointments and gotten seen in about an hour. They DO have an X-ray machine there or atleast did. I had an X-ray done about two years ago in the office. I give three stars because the level of care is fine there. read more
