From the very first phone call with Benjamin, I was captured by his energy and charisma. When we met him for our engagement shoot, we left with such a sense of confidence in that choice. The engagement photos were EXTRAORDINARY, and made us so excited to have Ben capture our big day. In the months and weeks leading up to our wedding, Ben was a pillar of support and organization. I highly recommend Benjamin for wedding or any other professional photography needs! We found Benjamin through my sister who works with his wife planning weddings. In my search for a photographer, which I had to do from Washington state, I was really only thinking about their work and the finished photos. For some reason I hadn't thought about making sure that person was a personality fit to be around us and my family (who had only posed for Sears portraits during my childhood) the day of. Luckily Benjamin, and his assistant Binjam, were AMAZING. From the second I met him the day of our wedding I felt extremely comfortable. Benjamin jumped right in and knew what to do and when, and made the picture taking parts of the wedding super fun. He was able to group my large family together, which is made up of different personalities, and get everyone to feel relaxed and pose as needed for the shots. He showed the perfect balance of playfulness, fun, and professionalism. Looking back on the day, I don't remember seeing Benjamin a lot, however he was there and all over capturing candid amazing shots. It made me realize an excellent photographer is there but isn't in your face the whole time, which is more of what I expected from a wedding photographer in general. I highly recommend you hire Benjamin as your wedding photographer. I was a COVID bride who had to reschedule the wedding a few times, and then had pregnancy complications just before the event was finally about to take place. Throughout the whole process Benjamin was accessible and accommodating. We ended up hiring Benjamin to photograph our small ceremony one year before the larger reception once COVID restrictions lifted. This was really great because it gave us an opportunity to work with him on two occasions and become familiar with his style (and being photographed in general). He was also very reasonable with his pricing and considering our atypical situation, we were able to come up with a package that worked for us. During both events, Benjamin made sure that my husband and I felt we had time to ourselves and never felt the chaos of the day (it also helped having his amazing wife Saskia from MOOI as our day of coordinator- DEFINITELY recommend you look into hiring them both as they are quite the dynamic duo!). The photos he captured are truly amazing and images I will cherish forever. Rather than contrived or rigid stock photos, Benjamin's candid photos accurately reflect the joy we experienced that day. There was magic in the air, and they captured it. Your wedding day is the most important and special day of your life. Documenting it is beyond a tough task. I'm sure I was no easy bride to work with. We planned a destination wedding to San Francisco in a month from Tulsa, OK and I had a shot list that would make anyone tired just thinking about it. I didn't just our wedding captured, I wanted a photo shoot. Ha! Benjamin was the recommended photographer with Commodore Events. I had already called around not knowing they had an amazing photographer they worked with. That's when I talked to Benjamin. I looked at his pictures. He called and listened to why San Francisco was important to us and why the pictures were the element of most importance to me. And then our wedding day came and he KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE BALLPARK! We spoke the day before and I knew it was going to be a fun time. He's professional, yet feels like an old friend. I had a slight snafu when we arrived to City Hall and I had forgotten my ID, and he rolled with the punches, calmed us down and suggested it actually worked out better because we could get more photos. Bless him. We spent the most time with him and his assistant Todd than with anyone on our wedding day, and I can tell you they made our day. They are the reason we had the best day ever. And I mean that. We gallivanted all over the city with them, which was the best part of our wedding day. When we asked to stop at market, they did--and grabbed their cameras. I have never had more fun in my entire life. And they helped give us that. They knew where to go, they laughed with us, they gave us everything we wanted. It could have felt cold and posed--driving around the city with strangers taking pictures, and yet it was sincere and genuine and fun. I could feel they cared and wanted to give us everything we dreamed of. And they did. Some people take pictures. Other people make the pictures come to life. That's what Benjamin does. Each time I look at our photos I find a new favorite. We had a very small and intimate affair, so we've shared the pictures with others. My wife and I hired Benjamin to photograph our wedding cruise of the San Francisco Bay. We arrived early for the wedding and had pictures taken on the lawn in front of the harbor. Choosing our photographer for our wedding was the biggest decision we knew we would face as photos last a lifetime! When we met w/Benjamin, we loved his style and it fit ours. My wife and I loved working with Benjamin. Our florist thankfully recommended him and we in-turn highly recommend him. From the start he was very accommodating about listening to our concerns and gave us a custom photography package (that included engagement session and 9-hours of wedding day) that fit our budget. Benjamin was great about keeping in contact with us while also not being overbearing as we were planning our wedding and had other vendors/details to tend to. For the engagement session he knew the perfect spots in SF to hit and at the perfect time. He also knew how to use the windy conditions to his advantage and saw it as an opportunity rather than a challenge. For the wedding he was a star of boundless energy. He is very tall and the wife and I marveled at how he can contort himself to get the perfect picture angle. He never tired out for the entire 9-hours, and he had a knack for balancing patience with being firm. For example, it was during my wife's bouquet toss that I was in the angle of his shot, and he told me to get out of the way in a way that was not rude but I knew he meant business. What we liked most about Benjamin was seeing his mind at work. He puts full effort into each shot and all the variables that go into it. As long as you won't tire out, he has no problem with taking a shot over and over until the conditions are perfect. Then when you see the finished product you realize that it was all worth it. Booking Benjamin for your event certainly is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. And that is an expert photographer with years of experience and the tireless zeal of a 10-year old to match. Fortunately I had a moment to myself during the wedding where I can just survey the scene and collect my thoughts. My mom and I met Benjamin and his wife Saskia at a bridal fair early last year. Right away, I fell in love with his style and both of their personalities and went home raving to my fiance (now husband). We set up a meeting with them and had a great time discussing the wedding and what we were hoping for. I felt so comfortable with their abilities and personality that we booked Benjamin for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, he and his assistants were fantastic. I've worked with several photographers in the past (being in the wedding biz myself), and I've never seen a more competent and fun photographer. From our initial meeting to discuss our wedding and the "feel" we were seeking to achieve, Ben was uber professional, warm, and accommodating. Ben makes each individual in the wedding party, your guests, family and friends all feel so comfortable and as if they are the most important subject in each photo. You don't feel as though it's a chore to have your photo taken. (I've been in weddings before were I have dreaded all the picture taking) Photos with Ben are lighthearted and really fun! We were having a very large, but casual feeling Napa Valley wedding, and Ben captured every moment in exquisite detail. As a bride, there is so much that goes on pre-wedding, and during the wedding that you never really get to see, but with Ben's photo's I felt as though I was there at every moment, even when I wasn't. They were able to capture the wedding parties, even when were almost 15 miles away from each other for pre-wedding events, and then to come together for the wedding/reception and to be perfectly in sync was amazing! My husband and I saw an online deal for an Engagement shoot so we decided to take a look at Benjamin's website. We loved what we saw so we contacted him to meet up to chat. We could tell that Benjamin and his wife Saskia were very sweet and down to earth people as well as we loved his photos so we went for it. My husband and I first met Ben and Saskia at a coffee shop months before our wedding - they instantly won us over with their warm and genuine personalities. They managed large family photos beautifully, got incredible candids of our ceremony, made our post-ceremony bride and groom shots quick and efficient so we could get to the party and in the end captured all the joy and love in our wedding day perfectly. They even managed to get a slideshow of the photos they took up and running during our reception - our guests were so impressed!! We were absolutely thrilled with their service! Hiring Benjamin is a great choice! First, the most important thing of all, the photos. They were gorgeous, well taken, and really used the aesthetics of our wedding and the venue to tell a story. I had no idea our wedding was so much fun until I saw the photos! Just gorgeous. Benjamin doesn't give you 100% of the photos that he takes, just the best ones. This may make you nervous, but trust me, when you get your photos and every single one is wonderful, you understand what the point was. My Fiancé and I were looking for the perfect photographer and weren't having any luck. Either too expensive for the quality of the work or just plain ridiculous. We had all but given up when Benjamin was referred to us by a friend. We were only 1 month from the wedding date at this point and figured it was a long shot. He just happened to have our date free so we met with him. I can say with absolute certainty we made the right choice. Benjamin was very kind and understanding, very willing to lend a hand any way he could and work with us on the details and budget. We were quite simple with our wants and needs yet Benjamin far exceeded our expectations and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our day shine. Benjamin was our photographer for our May 24 wedding. We booked him because when we met with him, he immediately made us feel at ease (which is important for someone who will be up close and personal with you all day on your wedding day!). His prices are very competitive. He brought an assistant to our wedding, even though it was very small (65 guests), which turned out to be really nice for getting shots from different angles, the right lighting, etc. The final product-- our photos-- were just stunning! We absolutely love them. The reason I took off one star is that our contract stipulated that Benjamin would provide access to our wedding photos in an online gallery and on a USB stick within 6 weeks after the wedding date. Although he did send us the link to the online album (you can preview the images, but can't get them in full resolution) in about 4 weeks, it took over 7 weeks for us to get the full resolution images on the USB stick. This occurred because Benjamin was out of town and forgot to mail our USB key before leaving town. In the end, everything worked out, but I can't give 5 stars-- following your contracts is really important! read more

Nothing but good things to say about Ben and his team. Very professional and easy to work with from day one during the initial phone call to the final product. Ben is a wonderful guy. Laid back, but yet gets things done and done well. It was very calming and reassuring to have him with us on our wedding day (he even went out of his way and returned from a family vacation a couple days early just to accommodate us). So many of our family and wedding guest commented to us how much they liked Ben and how easy he was to work with. It felt less like we had a photographer takings our pictures and more like we had an old friend with us. My wife and I commented many times while looking through all the pictures "I didn't even realize Ben was there!" He captured many pictures we did not expect. The final product was very high quality and delivered much faster than we expected. Basically, Ben is wonderful for weddings, but I've also seen some of his artwork and he is just plain talented behind the lens no matter what he is shooting. Could not recommend Ben high enough. I am so happy that we chose Ben to shoot our wedding! He made the entire process so easy and stress free. He listened and made sure he knew exactly my vision and desires for the day. His expertise with photography and experience with weddings helped shape my vision with recommendations on types of shots and angles, timeline, etc. He was also always available to answer any questions I had leading up to the big day.
