I chose NY Dental Group for my complex dental work, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Dr. Katayev was very attentive during the assessment and provided me with a variety of treatment options. As a Health Care Assistant Director of Operations, I have experience managing a dental office and a strong understanding of the business. I know that dental care can be quite expensive. I have a Union Dental insurance plan with a $2,400 annual cap, which isn't enough to cover the extensive work I need. I appreciated that Dr. Katayev assigned me a financial counselor who explained all the resources available to me. Mrs. Elizabeth was very knowledgeable about their financial system, which made me feel comfortable with the pricing and the quality of the porcelain crowns. After four months of treatment, I can confidently say that the NY Dental Group office in Coop City is an excellent dental practice that meets all my expectations. The exam rooms were clean and adhered to all infection control rules and regulations--this was my first consideration when choosing this facility. Additionally, the customer service is outstanding. I was pleasantly surprised on my first visit when the receptionist greeted me by saying, "You can have a seat, Ana," without me even having to tell them who I was. The system had my picture, and they made it a priority to know their patients. I also want to give a shout-out to the clinical team assigned to me. During my first visit, I underwent the initial treatment for an implant placement. Dr. Katayev was fantastic, and the procedure was quite tolerable; I would rate the pain as a four out of ten. Dr. Katayev later introduced me to Dr. Daniel Ilayaich, DDS, and Mrs. Karen, the dental assistant, and what a team they are! Dr. Daniel is very courteous, and his empathy and compassion for his patients were evident through his actions. He excels at his work because he truly loves what he does. Mrs. Karen is a sweetheart, gentle and compassionate with her patients while assisting Dr. Daniel. I am truly grateful to have such a wonderful team taking care of me. Many practices demonstrate courtesy, but few embody all three qualities: courtesy, empathy, and compassion. Poor customer service. 6 months ago they tell me they don't have anyone to put my crown in. They will call me when they do. I never got the call. Today they remind me to come in for 6 month follow up, but nothing about that crown. I cancel and they tell me to "come in so we can talk about your crown situation." Yeah, I bet, come in so you can bill a visit. How about you me now on the phone why your service leaves a lot to be desired? 2 years ago, same thing with a no Hygienist to clean teeth because "he was in school." Really? What does that got to do with me? What dentist keeps patients waiting because of his staffing and HR issues? I am done with these people. I haven't been to this dentist in over 24 months and received a claim for unreceived services in 2025 on a Sunday. The billing lady, who seems to be engaging in fraudulent activities by charging for services not rendered and intentionally using incorrect codes, attributed these claims to the dentist. She assured me that she would address the issue with him. Be aware that they charge for unreceived services. read more

Beware!!!! I wish I read the comments before going to this scam office. They would charge your insurance for services never rendered. The finance representative at the office, will talk fast and get you credit card for services. I was told the breakdown of services will be available on my next visit. After 2nd visit No Breakdown of services. Complained and received email on charges. The amount was outrageous amount. Contacted my provider to investigate why nothing was covered. The office is clean, the staff patient, kind & friendly. My experience with Dr. Katayev was excellent. 4 implants with posts - literally painless, he made sure. I brought in a 30yr old photo, which is how long ago I actually had front teeth, & my implants look exactly like the picture. Coloring was perfectly matched to my natural teeth. I had gotten so used to not smiling for so long, I initially forgot how to. But, I've got it back now, and I feel wonderful. Beautiful. I know it's COVID, & folks are hesitant to go to the dentist ofc. but, I never had a moment of feeling unsafe in his ofc. environment. It's clean, it's good. Go to him and get your smile back! I'm here to resolve an unfinished work. On 3/2018 I had an implant bridge placed in and one of the tooth broke approximately 2 days after procedure. Due to personal family situation I had to cancel several appointments. Now I'm here to resolve this situation. To was told back then I had 2 options. I either have a crown on my last molar to patch up the broken or have entire implant removed and send it to repair. My option is to repair/replace the bridge. Let's see how this goes. I had a horrible experience today at this dentist office. I made an appointment for my husband and myself for a cleaning several weeks in advance only for them to mistakenly schedule me for the date prior. I am the policy holder and the one who made the appointments but they only called my husband to remind him of his appointment for January 11th.( We had the same appointment date! ) I called the day of and spoke to one lovely lady who fit me in for the correct date for 3:30/4:00 pm since it was a mistake on their end. I thanked her. I informed the receptionist that I was pregnant and that this information was also told to the person who originally scheduled my appointments the first time. Once I came in, a half hour early, they had me wait for an hour to be called. Once called, the had me wait for 40 minutes in the dentist chair. The person wasn't aware that I was getting a cleaning. She was going to do x-rays on me. I told her, " I'm 38 weeks pregnant! I can't do that. I only came for a cleaning." The lady said okay, and I continued to wait. Finally the dentist and colleague came to let me know that the hygienist was not in nor available to clean my teeth. I was soo upset. I started to cry. I'm emotional being pregnant and all. This was such a terrible first time experience at this dentist office. All they did was apologize and give me a free toothpaste and toothbrush like I was a child. I was at the dentist for hours only to never get anything done. Can you imagine, going to give birth anyday now, its freezing cold outside, paying a lyft cab to make an appointment that should've been already made, waiting for two hours only to never be seen... They messed up my wife's mouth, and now we have to go to another dentist to fix the work that they messed up. When she went to pick up her X-rays, they gave her a huge run around and made her wait an hour for them.. I'll be making more complaints on them everywhere I can. This place is a mess.. Very disorganized and lazy people.. In first place they make you wait for at least 3 hours.. I went there 2 weeks ago so they can check me and tell me how much do I need to pay if I needed to.. They said my insurance cover everything.. So I went yesterday ready for the surgery, when they call me and said that I may have to give them a co payment but the surgeon had to see me first!!!?? What's that supposed to mean? Disgusting, Disgusting, Disgusting. No stars for me. First and last visit in this office. Wait time was 3 hours. AND they had patients go ahead of me because I was a "routine visit". Exam room was small and cram like the waiting room. My husband was telling me in his visit the 2 X-ray techs were arguing about who's going to do his X-rays. The hygienist was nice but that's about it. When it came down to her cleaning my teeth. My mascara was running down my face and my shirt soaking wet as if she use a super soaker to clean my teeth. My X-ray tech was to busy watching tv in the exam room every time she came in the room she will pause and stare at the tv and wait until what will happen next. VERY RUDE. I only seen the dentist for 2 mins. She was an Asian woman.... Didn't think her name was Benjamin... "The dentist" I had an appointment with! Whatever you do PLEASE avoid this office!!!! Dr. Katayev left my dental work half done, and I developed a very dangerous infection. When I call the office, they informed me that he did not have an emergency number or an on-call doctor when he was not available. The office staff told me to go to a hospital and get an antibiotic and morphine, until Dr. Katayev could see me. When I called 311 for an emergency endontist, they informed me that doctors and dentists are required to have an emergency backup, and this office does not. My regular dentist who referred me was horrified, had to drain an abcess, and I am now on high doses of antibiotics and motrin 7. They are a dangerous practice, and I urge you to stay away from them. read more

this guy is a crook. i went to primary dentist who sent me here to have tooth extractions. while there they did xrays and other stuff looking. he said i needed a bone implant. i told him ok can we call my primary dentist to see if he said it was ok. he lied he never got contact with my primary dentist and said everything is good. they forced me to finance the implant with wells Fargo for about $5000. after i went back to my primary dentist he said he was never contacted by this dentist and he would not have approved the bone implant because it was not necessary. since than my primary dentist has said he has not been referring his patients there because they revived a lot of complaints.they had also placed screws in my mouth which fell out. they laughed it off saying thats normal. my primary dentist has recommended getting my money back from them and taking them to small claims court. read more

This doctor is terrible was there for a root canal and he gave me several anaesthetics but didnt numb my pain. When I would complain, he would get angry and leave the room. Shouldn't I complain when my teeth is on fire. Short story, he removed the nerve put a temporary filing and left me there with no explanation. This explanation was when I prodded the nurse. I would give 0 stars if I could. Office is very unprofessional. They put me in for a visit without verifying my insurance and 2 days later call me and to tell me my visit wasn't covered and I had to pay $200. They even had the nerve to call me for a follow up visit! That's how unaware and misinformed they are. I would never go back there. Worse office ever. read more

You go there to see Dr B V Katayev ? You won't. After waiting for 3 hours someone will come and says I am your dentist, open your mouth. He/She will examine your teeth do what ever need to be done. But you went there expecting to see Katayev because you've already checked his credentials. You don't have a chance to check the credentials of that improptus, on the spot dentist. I guess you will check his/her credentials after the fact( after he/she had worked on your teeth).if you remember his/her name ------ what's is missing here? Dr B V Katayev should post in the office a list of the names of all dentists, specialists, technicians he brings in to do work on the patients. When B V Katayev was working alone he was very good. That was before he turned his practice into that group thing, whatever dental group. I guess Dr Katayev feels that "whoever I send to work on your teeth is qualified, trust me." duh! it doesn't work like that. It doesn't give me that confidence I need before I open my mouth. Please do not go there. They will over charge your insurance. I got the same exact procedure at another dental office and I did not experience over billing. They have over billed me over $300 for services that they say I agreed to which is not true. They send me to collections and I have filed a complaint against them. Save your money and go somewhere else where they value you and treat you with respect. When I called to speak with the dental billing specialist Ms.Elizabeth, she said to me that "She should not even be speaking to me about my bilI." WHAT? Dr. Katayev was highly recommended and I was immediately pleased with his service. However, I was very disappointed with the very long wait times every time I had an appointment, coupled with the cavalier and dismissive attitude of Dalia, one the front desk staff members, who once I expressed I wanted copies of my dental records to continue my dental work elsewhere, simply gave me a printout of my office visits and did not try to correct her error nor seek to apply some form of compassion after they informed me that my impression was discarded. She should have owned up to the fact that she had been disingenuous when she told me they were waiting for a response from the lab. That was the LAST straw that broke the camels back. Sadly, more than one week has passed and I have not received a call. I trust Dr. K is unaware of what transpired, for surely he would have corrected her and had another one of his staff members reach out to me by now. The excessive wait time went on for years and honestly, I think the only reason I continued to endure was because Dr. Katayev was far superior to the previous dental office, where it felt more like an assembly line accompanied by even more egregiously long wait times. After many years of being treated here, unfortunately I can no longer tolerate such treatment by Dalia as anyone employed at the reception desk, notably, the first point if contact to clientele and representing the business should comport themself with prifessionalism and courtesy, as an extension if their employer. I would only recommend anyone who desires stellar service, to visit Dr. Katayev at one of his other offices. read more
