    51. SPICY BEEF lunch special!
    Matt R.

Dropped in on my way back from Leavenworth. I had the Spicy Beef lunch special. It is solid. I could have used more protein, but I understand it's a lunch special. The service was good, restaurant is clean. I'm happy to come back and try more menu items!

Big fans of Benjarong all day long! Frequent this place once per week sometimes even 2 times a week. If we are not feeling well, their soups are our big time lifesaver! Hubby never gets tired of his 3 star Tom Kah with tofu plus a side of white jasmine rice. It may seem too light as a meal but my hubby always have leftovers. Love the perfectly balanced broth with creamy coconut cream infused against the bright lemongrass flavor. It's his absolute favorite and he would not get anything else even though he likes curry and phad kee mao. I can see why.. My eyes always get big when I have a taste of his soup it certainly wakes up taste buds in the most pleasant way! This soup goes perfect with rice! White rice! There's a milder Benjarong special soup with dumplings I got when I get sick it's a light broth with lots of veggies and minced chicken meat and bean thread noodles in a light broth it was delish as well if you want a mild flavor soup. You can get extra noodles for a charge if you want to have it as a full on noodle bowl meal. I usually like to try different things. Sometimes, I order phad kee mao if I want that bold basil flavor with slabs of flat rice noodles. At other times, I really enjoy their phad woon sen with its mild savory sauce infused throughout the bean thread noodles. I ask for their thai chili condiments caddy and douse more chili sauce and chili/fish sauce for an extra kick which take it to the next level. I get it in vegetarian and ask for extra fresh tofu. Sounds boring but it's craveable. I also get their eggplant dish or garlic delight they are delish as well. Their menu is large enough there's bound to be a favorite for all. The appetizers have always been spot on. Love the grilled thai flavors on the big hunks of chicken satay ask for peanut sauce! Succulent!! You can't go wrong with their classic fresh rolls they are always perfectly made and the fresh crunch against the warm and lightly sweet peanut sauce it is to die for. Lastly, my hubby's new love is the calamari. This is not your typical calamari app as it's perfectly fried without being oily. We love biting into the big chunks of squid rings you can hear the crunch with each bite. The tangy glaze with sprinkled peanuts is perfect for dipping. Get this! Service wise, it has always been a delightful experience for dine in and door dash every time. Love the quiet ambience with their private booths and nice decor. Like they offer quality Asian loose leaf teas and zero percent beer. St Pauli is decent. The owner Panu, wife, and staffs have always been very kind and efficient in providing decent service! I get picky at times and they always cater to what customers want. They have been around forever they know how to deliver good food and service!

Food 5/5: We ordered Pot Stickers for the appetizer and Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Pork, Golden Cashew w/ Pork, and Garlic Delight w/ Beef. Everything tasted amazing and we even have leftovers for a few days. Service 5/5: Even though they were incredibly busy, we still got excellent service. All the food came out in a timely manner and our waters were constantly being refilled. And before we left we were given some mango ice creams (?), which was incredibly nice and unexpected. Ambience 5/5: The decor is nice and fits the theme. The tables are clean and the floor isn't sticky.

Great dinner tonight here. Fast friendly service. Quiet night out with a delicious meal. I'm not really into Thai food but I did enjoy this sweet and sour pork.

Great food, but -1 because expensive for Monroe, not huge portions. I would even argue that there are too many options - HUGE menu makes it hard to decide on anything. But because reviews for me are hawed on the food, still giving 4 stars!! Also ambience, it felt like a little Thailand in there! Lots of big booths and cozy decor. Plenty of parking too! Great stop if you're driving to and from Seattle

Came here after hiking Lake Serene! The service was mediocre but the food was very tasty! Love the lively vibe and the very big portions they give, great for a post hike meal! The panang curry was super good with beef, and my friends loved their phad thai

Outstanding! This place is earned all the great reviews! Very friendly service from start to finish, very attentive as well. Authentic Thai music in the background, which always makes me happy! Very clean, and tasteful Thai decor. They hit all the main five components of true Thai cooking, and your taste buds get to go on a Trip to Thailand!

The place is decorated beautifully with Thai paintings. Once we entered, we were sat immediately and ordered drinks. We ordered The sampler as an appetizer and it came with a little bit of everything. The crab rangoons, chicken satay, shrimp rolls and spring rolls were all delicious! My husband ordered Chicken golden noodles and I ordered chicken pad Thai. Our food came out quickly and they were both large portions! The food was delicious!

I was absolutely craving pad Thai and was scouring DoorDash to find a place that could deliver to me after work. Benjarong had raving reviews of their pad Thai and boy, people weren't kidding! Firstly, the packaging was so nice and sturdy. Second, the portion was soo generous!! I ordered 2 star chicken pad Thai and it was fabulous!! I also got an order of the potstickers and they really hit the spot too. The sauce was so flavorful. A little spendy, but definitely worth it. This was delicious!!

    Callie M.

One of our favorite Thai places around. Everything is always delicious. The skewers are amazing, one of the best items I've had at any Thai restaurant. Their curry is delicious too, it's my go to at all restaurants. The servers are amazing as well. The one lady who was serving me was so polite and it felt like an upscale restaurant with her manners and the way she held herself. My only negative is that they do have naked paintings of women on the back wall, which I don't love my kids being able to see, so this is a date night only spot for us! But calming music and good atmosphere.

This is NOT what I want when I order pad see ew! Would have canceled had I been informed!
    Liz D.

Seriosuly disappointed!!!! I ordered pad see ew and what I got was pad Thai noddles with a note saying out of wide noodles so apparently they subbed them out? No! Had I known I would had canceled the order! This is NOT pad see ew at all!!! Not to mention i ordered right at opening! How are you out of wide noodles??? Not happy at all.

When we arrived, we were seated and I asked our server for a high chair for our toddler. Instead of bringing one, he told me to get it myself. I've never had that happen at a restaurant before. The high chairs were behind a heater, so it was awkward to reach and I had to manage it myself. We also didn't receive menus for several minutes. We ordered summer fresh rolls with tofu, egg fried rice, and chow mein with tofu (3 star spice). Food was served by a different gentleman who was very nice and brought plates, etc. The chow mein had no spice at all. We waited for our server to check in so we could request spicy sauce, but he never came back to our table. Our table was in the middle of the room, and we watched him check on other tables but not ours. Eventually my husband had to go to the counter to get chili oil. At one point my fork fell on the floor and again, no one came by so I could get another. When we left, there was no thank you or goodbye. In the past, the staff has always been Asian and has been consistently attentive and welcoming. This time our server was the only non-Asian staff member we've seen here and seemed unfamiliar with the restaurant's usual level of service. Unfortunately, we felt overlooked the entire time, which was the opposite of our past experiences. The food is still good, but the service today was unpleasant enough that we won't be returning. It's a bummer because we used to really enjoy coming here.

The restaurant itself is small but spotless and clean. * Spring rolls were huge. The lettuce ratio wasn't super high but still good enough. 4/5 * Pork bánh mì was delicious. 5/5 * Pho had depth and flavor. Something about it tasted slightly off to me, but it still satisfied my craving. 4/5 * Prices were reasonable: the bánh mì was under $10 and the large pho was under $15. It was the service that really threw us off. We don't expect much service at pho places, but this was odd enough that it's worth mentioning. There were two young staff members working who clearly seemed like they didn't want to be there and almost didn't want people coming in. The guy brought us utensils and pho garnishes but no water. At least he had a smile. The girl, on the other hand, had this very guarded, "ready to fight" expression. When I went up to ask for a box, they both froze and looked at me like I was asking for the world. She didn't smile and barely made eye contact. When it was time to pay, we weren't sure what to do so we just went up to the front. She didn't look at us once, and there was no "thank you" or "have a good day." The whole interaction really weirded us out. * Food: 4/5 * Service: 1/5 That said, if we were in the area and wanted pho again, we'd reluctantly go back for the food.

I've been to T&T maybe 4-5 times since it opened a couple years ago. I've dined in and picked up take-out. Both experiences were great. The service was fast and efficient -- no frills, taking orders/filling drinks/etc. The inside is very bright and nice on a sunny day and they have some covered, outdoor seating on their patio. I think when the weather is bad, they don't have people out there, though. I usually get American-popular-dishes... like Crispy Garlic Chicken and Phad Thai, and it's always been great. Like most places, they let you order most stuff on a spicy-scale from 1 to 5 stars (where 5 stars is the spiciest). I've had their version of 5-stars and it's not over-the-top or anything... just a normal, American-friendly Thai place. The food is always super hot and fresh, though -- and they pack it well (in styrofoam and a plastic bag), so it stays nice and hot until I get home or wherever I'm going. So... appreciate that, even though it's a bit eco-unfriendly. Parking is usually pretty good on Ave A. where they're located. There's a weird, Bank of America ATM kiosk thing next door that is a convenient spot to temporarily park when there's nothing else available. They also usually have at least one "15 min parking" spot nearby for curbside/take-out purposes, so thats super nice and always convenient. I've been here during lunch and dinner and never had a problem getting parking nearby -- maybe it's a quieter street or something. Online ordering is through the "Smile Dining" platform. Their menu is accurate, there's lots of places to put customizations, and I've never had an issue with an order being missed or late or something. So... A+ there. Overall... I really couldn't ask for anything more than Thai and Taps. Actually, one thing I've never explored is the "Taps" part of their name - i'm not certain they have a large, craft beer menu or anything. I could be wrong... but if you're looking for that, you might be disappointed.

In long I've driven past this place dozens of times without even noticing it--their sign is small and kind of faint, and it's an old house. Blends into the background a little, though it turns out to have excellent word of mouth now that I know about it. I came in for a late lunch and got a table immediately. There are half a dozen tables inside, about the same outside. The covered patio is very comfortable and on a perfect sunny summer day there aren't many better settings. The menu is about 100 items or so--apps, salads, a few soups, lots of noodle dishes and entrees. I checked out the Bangkok Spices, which is listed as a spicy dish. They offer five stars of spiciness, which turned to make me wipe my nose maybe once, but definitely wasn't overwhelming. The dish was just great, though: Fresh veg, nice moist white chicken, tasty fresh soft rice. The kitchen is a quiet storm of non-stop banter in Thai, but the menu (and spice levels) are very Americanized. Snohomish is a very caucasian place, so this makes some sense. The server seemed like a local, just the loveliest, sweetest kid. Very attentive and always working. I didn't order a beer but they have maybe 8 taps, focused on hoppy stuff and crisp lagers from good breweries. Good choices for a menu like this for sure. I'd come back here any time, very happily. But I do need to say there are Thai places closer to home and a few of them are a little more ambitious in the kitchen.

We started with the pumpkin tempura. It was crispy on the outside, with a naturally sweet pumpkin inside. It was really delicious. It came with a dipping sauce, though the portion felt quite small. The side of lettuce and a chunk of purple cabbage felt a bit odd presentation wise, but once we wrapped everything together and dipped it, it tasted great. For my main, I ordered the vegan herb tofu salad with medium spice. It was mostly fried tofu tossed in a herb dressing with mint, tamarind, and cilantro. The flavor was a mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy. It honestly reminded me a bit of pani puri. That said, the sweetness was a bit overpowering and made the dish slightly sticky. If they toned that down, it would be perfect. We also tried the vegan 17th curry fried rice, which was good. The curry flavor was subtle. My toddler absolutely loved it. Overall, I would recommend this place, especially for vegans. The food was good, with the only downside being that some dishes leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. The service was okay, not exceptional, but not bad either. I had visited this place about three years ago on a busy Friday night and had a pretty poor service experience, so I wanted to give it another shot on a weekday. First off, the ambiance is so authentic that I halfway expected a relative I've never met to walk out of the kitchen and ask why I haven't called. The place is decorated like a true Hacienda, and honestly, the décor does some heavy lifting--it's like the stucco walls and rustic charm trick your taste buds into believing you've just crossed the border, even if it's actually 40 degrees and raining outside. As for the food: it's spectacular. In a land where "spicy" often just means either "we added an extra grain of black pepper," or "we added uranium", Mi Tierra serves actual, authentic flavor. Whether it's the rich sauces or the well seasoned meats, eating here feels like a victory over the bland Mexican-food desert we call the Pacific Northwest. Best of all, the prices are incredibly reasonable. You get a massive portion of "real-deal" food without having to sell a kidney or take out a second mortgage. If you want to stop eating "tacos" that taste like sadness and disappointment and start eating like you're on vacation, get yourself to Mi Tierra. You may want to check out their menu on the Mi Tierra Official Website to plan your escape from mediocre salsa and to avoid the feeling that you are sitting for a test that you havent studied for as the wait staff can be pretty fast to take your order
