Lovely little place with friendly staff - I stop here en route to Eastern WA. Food is yummy!

Ordered takeout from Thai on Main Street as we were passing by this town. I placed order for Phad Kee Mao with Tofu and no mushroom but instead was given chicken as can be clearly seen in the picture. This dinner meal was for a vegetarian friend and they had to go figure out another meal when we opened it up, since this was rendered inedible to them. We were looking forward to this place but are deeply disappointed by this goof up. To add on, there was just one party dining in which makes it even more difficult to understand as to how did they mess up the order. They charged $19.19 for this specific meal which totally went to waste. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant. As a courtesy of this goof up, I would expect this restaurant to refund this dish. Edit July2: I was reached out by the owner Amy, refunded half the charge for the incorrect order and was promised an on the house entree the next time I place an order. Considering the other dish was decent to taste and this follow up, I will add another star to the review. read more

We love Thai in main! One of the best Asian restaurants in the area, we've been going for years! We enjoy dinning in rather than take out but occasionally we'll order delivery if they have a driver available that night. The crispy garlic chicken (with extra fried basil) is always one of our favorites- unfortunately today they didn't give us any basil, for some reason it had dehydrated shrimp flakes or something on it which made the whole dish fishy tasting. Wasn't a fan! It WAS packed tonight so hopefully it was just a one time thing- maybe ran out of basil? read more

Had a great experience at this cozy Thai restaurant here right in the heart of Monroe. Ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and even better got a chance to meet the owner Busa and his staff. I popped in for lunch. There was a girl training, another girl and about five people seated. It took a while to get my order taken, and I asked for Vietnamese iced tea. I got my soup which was hot and sour, but definitely a very tame version. It was good lots of bamboo shoots. I got the pad on the chicken and the noodles was absolutely fantastic. I did enjoy the meal. The training backed up the day and it did take a while to get my check and get out of there but overall great price great meal great restaurant I would drop back in. read more

The food is great and the staff is always so friendly. We typically order take out and it's always ready when expected. When we have dined in staff is attentive and it's a cute spot right down town. Parking can be mildly difficult to find by Monroe standards but nothing more than a block or so away! Love this place! read more

Went to Thai on Main today 6/24 for any early lunch/Dinner when a couple came in with their dog. Very disrespectful and unsanitary for a restaurant to allow this, especially when there is a sign on the door that says no animals allowed. Manager sould of said something to not allow this. Our waiter though was great. read more

5 years ago I had heard good things about this restaurant, so decided to check it out even though it's a bit of a drive. And oh my goodness, I tried THE STREET NOODLES!!!! Best freaking Asian noodle dish I have EVER eaten. And my opinion remains the same to this day. If you have ever had authentic Mexican street tacos in Mexico, you know how good they are. Now think that, but thai street noodles. Yes, this is a big deal. Mind blowing. Now my favorite Asian dish. Will be back frequently to gorge myself with these noodles. read more

After a long hike, we headed to Thai on Main Street in Monroe, WA, for lunch. The place was bustling, so we had a short wait before being seated. Given how hungry we were, we promptly ordered the pineapple fried rice and cashew tofu. The food was exceptional! Pineapple fried rice can sometimes be overly sweet, but theirs struck the perfect balance between sweet and savory--absolutely nailed it. The cashew tofu was equally delicious. Portion sizes were generous; despite our hunger, we had leftovers to take home. Highly recommend! read more

great food! I'd give the food a 5. But the service is a 2.5. All the servers seem to be inexperienced and unprofessional. They were nice enough when asked but had to be asked repeatedly for basic service like refilling water, clearing empty dishes and even to place orders by a member of our group who arrived a little later. They appeared to have 3-4 people on the floor so I'm not sure why. Servers also completely disappeared for lengths of time and we were waiting about 10 minutes even to pay our check. I'd love to go back for the food but would only do takeout from here based on this experience read more

This place is just plain solid! I ordered online - through their website. They use a service called "Smile" that was pretty pleasant to use. Parking on the main drag was all full, but I was able to get parking at a spot on a side street at 6:00PM on a Saturday. My food was ready when I got there - right on time. I just had to sign the receipt and off I went! The food was packed very well - in heavy duty plastic packages with just a bit of venting. So, it traveled extremely well - everything was nice and hot after a 10 min drive home. Everything we got was pretty good! Crispy garlic chicken was amazing - sweet, sticky, rich. Pad Thai was good - fairly standard fare. Mongolian beef was a bit dry (maybe too much venting on this one). The kids also loved their (plainer, standard) stuff - chicken with noodles and crispy chicken nuggets. My wife's allergic to fish sauce, so she just tried a small bit - she really liked it, but it definitely had too much - to the point it triggered her to be a bit nauseous. So, keep that in mind or mention your allergies when ordering, haha! All around - a great experience and great food. Will definitely be back. read more

We stopped in after a really long day and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I was so tired I had a hard time deciding on what to order! Our server was patient and answered all of my questions with a smile. I chose the Duck Curry and it was so amazing, might even be the best I've ever had! The crab rangoons were also incredible. No red dye in the sauce, first time I've seen that in a restaurant! had the Pad Thai as well which was different than I've had before and so good! What a great find in Monroe. Monroe has two Thai restaurants. This is the smaller and less "fancy" of the two, but it's also got the better food. The current owner has owned this place for about 1 1/2 to 1¾ years, so ignore review before then. The food is well prepared and mostly authentic. There are some stretches for Thai food, but it's mostly because the Laotian owner likes those dishes from other Asian countries too. There's even a section of dishes from Laos, and we plan to try those in the future. But the Thai dishes are solid. Pad thai, for example, is strictly a tamarind sauce affair. Nothing red in this sauce. Good. Spice level is three to five, and three has some kick. So, be careful on this front. Again, good. Five should be super hot in an authentic place. And no chopsticks except with noodles--again very Thai traditional to use a fork except with noodles. We will definitely return to eat through the menu. Worth a visit. read more

We visited Thai on Main Street in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, and the fact that it was full at 2 pm was a lovely sign. In particular, we were looking for more vegan options in Sky valley, and this place was WONDERFUL about accommodations. They were not only able to either point out vegan dishes or tell us which ones could be made vegan, but the staff was very communicative about the ways in which the flavors would change and the ability to prepare the food on separate surfaces. We got the thom kha soup (wonderful!), the papaya salad (quite salty; I was a fan, my partner less so), and the yellow curry (very good). The soup was still plenty spicy at a 2, given the oil on top, though the yellow curry at a 3 could maybe have gone up to a 4. Service was lovely and kind, the ambiance was comfy and downtempo, and although the music was a bit loud, we could still talk just fine. Highly recommend! read more

We've eaten here a couple times now after our friends introduced us; the intensity of flavor and variety of dishes is distinct from most other Thai places we've eaten at. The menu items we've sampled from the Lao menu were particularly new and intriguing! The restaurant has lots of both natural and faux greenery and several comfy booths to create a comfortable and calming atmosphere. The service both times we've visited has been great from both the servers and the owner himself who comes out to chat with patrons. Many of the dishes are naturally gluten free and the kitchen is happy to substitute ingredients to make things gf or even vegan. We've had the duck in panang curry, pad Thai, spring rolls, and the Khao Poon Katee soup has been a huge hit with everyone that's had it. Prices and quantity are generous and ingredients fresh tasting and well thought out. We look forward to making this place our future local haunt when Thai cravings hit. read more

Came in for lunch as a solo diner, was greeted with a friendly smile. It was after the lunch crowd but it was still a good amount of people. My server was very friendly and although busy made sure she Acknowledged me and was with me pretty quickly. I had the khao poon katee soup, it was what I came for, it did not disappoint, full of flavor and spice I got level 4 so enough for taste but not too much (no sweating) I loved the sides they give to add, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, diced green beans and bean sprouts and lime, cilantro, green onions and Thai basil all made this a wonderful meal! Excellent service and cute atmosphere. The food was uninspiring. Tom Kah soup was bland and needed more lemon grass and other things added to it. Pad Kee Mao had almost no veggies in it, and the noodles were mushy with no charring. Eggplant dish was pretty good. Finally got around to trying Thai on Main, and we were not disappointed whatsoever! Service was great, super efficient and very kind service staff. I was disappointed with the food during my last visit this past week. I have been a customer for the last year and have often recommended this restaurant as a having good service and wonderful food. Last week three of us traveled from Arlington, Skykomish and Snohomish to meet for lunch. The three of us each ordered a lunch entree and when the food was served it was nearly cold. Two of the entrees had the wrong rice (brown vs white) and I had ordered the Phad Kee Mao, three stars. There were no vegetables at all in my entree, no spice and the noodles were all in a lump. I had ordered pork and that was the only thing they got right. I tried calling to talk with a manager, but the waitress didn't know when one would be in and wanted to know why I needed to talk to a manager. This restaurant needs to up their customer response game and always take messages for the manager whether or not they were in the building. Needless to say I won't be back. read more

On a 98 degree day, it was nice to be met with adequate cold air and an iced cold beverage. The kind waitress remembered my favorite Thai iced tea --no regular cream, add coconut cream. Creamy and cold. Perfect for ones with lactose intolerance! Must must have! Even if you are not in the mood, get it! Can't go wrong with their summer rolls with shrimp or tofu here. Both are great. Dunk in that amazing peanut sauce. It's always tightly packed with the freshest veggies. The tightly packed rolls make it super crunchy. So good! Another must have! Gotta share! My new favorite entree: broccoli lover with fried tofu and pineapple fried rice with fried tofu. Solid for taste, portion size and crave-ableness. They sure know how to make broccoli glorious. Most places overcook it. Not here. Three stars with fried tofu is da bomb! Try it! The pineapple fried rice is simply the best. Love the generous amount of raisins, cashews, and sweet pineapple chunks dispersed in the perfectly seasoned fried rice. I get three stars with tofu. Fun to eat cuz you don't know what you're going to get with each spoonful. Perfect leftovers. This place has it all. read more

The food is amazing! This was our first time dining in this morning (5/9) and sadly will be our last. We will forever stay with grabbing take out as the 2 young women working were more concerned with being on their phones and doing shady business with a man that came in and took a seat at first booth vs waiting on customers. There was 2 women dining that finished their meal n left but the table was never cleared after they left nor did the gal bother to pick up debris under the table ( napkins so she can't claim she didn't see them) she did remove the dishes but did nothing else. Our meals were brought out with an extended wait between dishes first persons meal then a 5 plus minute wait for second persons meal and an additional 15 minute wait for the child's chicken nuggets.... It wasn't busy as the 2 women that were leaving as we were seated had been served... the gal didn't offer any insight on lunch specials nor at any time offer anything more than water we had to ask if they had a root beer for the child that ended up filling up on noodles off parents plates because they took so long to bring chicken nuggets out... and when the odd customer was trying to pass something to the girls working not once but twice he then got up and quickly went to the restroom again as the one gal was always on her phone constantly peeking out from the kitchen as she passed dishes off to first girl while rolling her eyes... owners might want to check their morning wait staff... it's sad cause the food is delicious n fresh great portions but the v service today was honestly subpar read more

Wow! What a great find in Monroe. I was here years ago under different owner and was not overly impressed. So thankful to have come back. The service was great and the food was excellent! I had never, to my knowledge, had Laotian food before last week and now I've tried four different things and loved every one of them. The pork itself is not spicy, just very tender and flavorful. Gai Thod: crispy chicken wings with side of sweet Thai chili sauce Khao Poon Katee (my favorite so far, kind of a red curry pho.
