I had a terrible experience with Beni Auto Salespeople. I came in with my own approved bank check, so the dealership didn't have to handle my financing at all -- the process should have been simple. Instead, they created a major problem with my trade-in. They agreed to pay off my trade-in loan, but it took nearly two months to do it. During that time, my lender reported the account as late, my credit was damaged, and the loan was close to repossession status. What makes this even worse is that I later found out the dealership had already sold my trade-in to someone else before paying off the loan, leaving me responsible for a car I no longer had. The situation was eventually resolved, but the unnecessary stress, credit impact, and lack of communication were unacceptable. The first thing I can say is that I was looking at a 2020 Tesla Model 3 black with low miles but was offered another Model 3 white with more miles, but I was satisfied with what I would be getting. Greg Polanco is the person I worked with. So, I started the process on October 3, 2024, and paid my downpayment of 4,000. I got my insurance on the car the same day. Now I know that with the storm hitting that same week, getting my car would take some time. I didn't get my car until everything with Capital One was finalized. That took about a month and two weeks. Initially, I intended to co-sign with my aunt, but Tyler, the finance manager, recommended putting the car solely in her name. My aunt, who resides in NYC, electronically signed the paperwork as suggested. Tyler also advised us to tell the bank that both cars on her credit were for her. We made a $5,500 down payment, and I received the car on 5/23/24. 7/24/24: The car was repossessed without prior notice. When I contacted the dealership, I was directed to Westlake Financial, the bank, who informed me that I was allegedly 17 days behind on payments. However, I had not received any bills or repossession notices. Neither the dealership nor the bank had communicated directly with my aunt, who was the authorized purchaser. Additionally, no one from Benji Auto Sales contacted me to try to resolve the issue, being that I was the one that went to the dealership. That evening, I called Tyler and offered to make two payments as a good faith gesture, despite never receiving a bill. 7/25/24: Tyler informed me that it was too late, stating the bank had repossessed the car. However, upon speaking to the bank, I was told it was actually the dealership that initiated the repossession. I have attached text messages from Tyler claiming it was the bank. 7/26/24: The car was returned to the dealership lot, and I have photographic evidence of this. By 7/28/24, the dealership had already sold the vehicle to a new buyer, as confirmed by the Tesla app requesting a transfer. I formally requested the return of my $5,500, but Benji Auto Sales refused, citing non-compliance with the payment schedule. After obtaining the paperwork from the bank, I discovered that the "Retail Installment Sale Contract - Simple Finance Charge (With Arbitration Provision)" , the contract that protects our rights, as a consumer, was submitted to the bank and had been electronically forged. This document was not part of the original paperwork my aunt had signed. Additionally, the contract was missing the apartment number, resulting in USPS confirming the bills were undeliverable. This dealership sold a car to somebody fraudulently using my identity. I contacted them to receive information regarding what information was used to purchase the vehicle. Initially, they were responsive - informing me that they were cancelling the purchase and that they would report the transaction to Capital One, who financed the auto loan. I was never contacted back by them. I attempted to call them on multiple occasions and did not have anyone that was willing to talk and provide sufficient information. Also, when I contacted Capital One about the fraud, I was informed that nobody from Benji's had contacted them - as I was told they would. Showed up on a Saturday to look at a model Y that was listed as in stock. After aimlessly following the sales guy around the lot for 45 minutes, we were told that the car was being shipped from NC. I left a $1000 deposit on THAT car and was told that it would be there Monday or Tuesday the next week. I got a call on the following Monday from the salesman saying that they have a cash offer on the car in Orland and i need to make a deal on the phone now or lose the car. I refused since i had not seen the car yet and was initially open to finding another car with them. The next day, i decided i wouldn't do business with such a dishonest company and started making calls to get the deposit back. I must have called dozens of times and got transferred to full mailboxes or just hung up on. Nobody to help me, salesman was also unresponsive. I went into the dealership the following Saturday to talk to someone and was not treated very well by the man in the office (for some reason you need a person to go talk to for you). I was told they'd "get to it on Monday, and it would take 3-5 business days to hit my account". I gave them benefit of the doubt and waited 6 days. Today i disputed the charge with my credit card company. Prices here a low but their business ethic is horrible. Expect to be ignored if anything goes sideways. Buy from Benji If You Want to Be Strung Along, Lied to, and Possibly Even Swindled--and if You Can't Get Enough Lousy Customer Service I purchased a used car from Benji Auto Sales on April 1, 2024. Apart from the standard dealership attempt to sell me tire and interior protection and GAP insurance that I didn't need, Benji gave me a pretty good deal on the car and my trade-in. The sales person was helpful, efficient, and attentive. Once I signed the paperwork and they had my money, however, the attentiveness ended. Benji promises nationwide delivery. For two days after I had signed the paperwork, no one--not the sales person nor anyone in management--communicated with me about scheduling a delivery. I then started inquiring. I got assurances it would be scheduled soon. Four days after signing the contract, and after multiple contacts on my part, Benji still provided no delivery confirmation. I requested to cancel the deal. It was only then that the dispatch department suddenly "found" a delivery service--and provided a range of dates when it would be picked up. I requested proof of the delivery order and the name of the carrier. Nine days after I purchased the car, it arrived at my home in the northeast. When the car arrived, it was filthy. It may have received an exterior wash (hard to tell after shipment from Florida), but the body had embedded tar, gunk, and surface scratches, which indicated that no one had prepped the exterior. The cabin had been vacuumed, but the surfaces were grimy and gummy. The cup holder had sticky residue from spilled soda. The hatch floor had sand in it, and the floor beneath the cover was coated in caked-on dirt. I spent hours washing, cleaning, and vacuuming it. I took it to get detailed because the body was so dirty. The car had received no mechanical service whatsoever--not even tire balancing. I have purchased many cars in my life and have never seen a dealer deliver a car having done nothing to prepare it for sale. Fifteen days after I signed the paperwork, I inquired with the finance manager when the dealer would issue a payoff for my trade-in. The finance manager told me Benji had delivered the payoff and that the lender had received it the day before. Over each of the next five business days, I contacted my lender to see if they had received it. After four days of continuing to hear that the check had not arrived at the lender, I contacted the finance manager by text and asked him if he was sure they sent it to the proper address, which I included in my text. The finance manager did not respond. The following week, I contacted the dealer and was directed to the Accounting and Titling department. I spoke with a woman who told me the check had not gone out, but that it had been cut the previous Friday and that it awaited signature. She assured me she would send it out that day and send me a tracking number. "I will take care of this so you won't be left hanging," she said to me. Later in the day, when I did not hear from her, I called and got her voicemail, which was not accepting messages. The next day, I tried again multiple times and could not get through to her. I then asked to speak to the general manager and told him what had happened. Later in the day, I received a text from the finance manager stating that the payoff had been sent to the wrong lender. He asked for an updated payoff and the payment address, which I sent to him immediately. He assured me it would be handled, and that I would receive a tracking number confirming that the payoff check had been sent out for delivery. The next day I contacted the general manager to inquire when I could expect the payoff check would go out. He assured me it would happen that day. He said a check had been cut, and he was waiting on the delivery service tracking number. By late afternoon, when I had not heard from him I asked if it would go out that day. He assured me he would have the check and tracking number by 5:30pm--when the Accounting and Titling department closed. At 5:50, I texted him asking him for the tracking number. He texted back, "1 minute." I called, and my call got directed to voicemail. I contacted the front desk, and they told me they could not reach the general manager, as they did not have his phone number. Twenty-three days after I signed a contract with Benji, a car that I owe nearly $20,000 on sits on the dealer's lot and on its website for sale. The staff at Benji have told so many conflicting stories, and have left me hanging so often, I can't know who if anyone is telling the truth. At this point, I cannot be assured that this dealership will actually pay off my trade-in without threat of legal action. If you crave this kind of abuse and swindle, and if you want to be lied to and brushed off, then by all means, buy a car from Benji Auto Sales. You'll have a great time. read more

Bought a car from them scheduled for home delivery only to find out later that it does not match the listing at all. Was told by my salesman Jason that I would be able to cancel the contract as I never received delivery and then they proceeded to ignore and literally block my phone number. No one at their office is reachable at any time during the day in any department but the answering service who just transfers you multiple times to a full mailbox.
