Deidra, you are incorrect. We were not present during the Girl Scout incident, which I suspect was also exaggerated by your manager. Your manager brought that incident up when my wife and I confronted him about cornering our 2 year old and getting in her face for "running." As for the comment about making "another" child cry, it wasn't said in disappointment, it was said with a smile. Both my brother and I initially thought she was joking. What's really concerning is your dismissive approach to customer feedback. Your responses to the negative comments, including mine, seem copied and pasted, making excuses for your manager's behavior. I never asked for anyone to be fired, although I strongly believe this would be the appropriate action, I'm not here to tell anyone how to run their business. I simply wanted to make you aware of the grossly inappropriate behavior and hostile environment your manager has created, hoping it would be addressed. That is why I sent you a private message through your website before writing this review, which by the way you never responded to. Unfortunately, it's clear that you do not care. It's a shame, my family has amazing memories from past visits to your pumpkin patch and Christmas tree lots. But after this experience, and your response to mine and others reviews here, you've lost us as customers. After posting a review that my car was scratched up by an employee attempting to "help" me load 2 bales of hay, this is what is written back to me by the owner! "I am so sorry you were not satisfied with your visit to our pumpkin patch. I can assure you that our manager was not aware that the straw scratched the interior of your car until you brought it to his attention, and I apologize if he was anything but courteous to you. I will alert our pumpkin patch staff to advise customers not to put bales of straw inside their vehicles." Sorry I wasn't satisfied? How about sorry they scratched my car. There was room in the car for both hay bales without scratching up the car. Fact. I really can't believe these people are blaming it on the size of my car. This is insulting. We have come here for years and have loved it! Something has drastically changed this year. I'm a total rule follower and care probably too much about safety lol so I get it. When you enter they go through the rules (which I'm fine with) but then they quiz them on the rules and get upset when they can't list them all back. The staff kept rudely yelling at my kids for literally no reason. I was watching them like a hawk because I wanted to make sure they were obeying. My kids wanted to go because they felt like they were being reprimanded for no reason and we usually stay for hours. Again, I'm all for safety and rules, but it has changed so much from years past. Took it back and the 'manager' said it looks like the kids forgot to cut bottom branches off so the stand leaked. He admitted fault, cut off the offending branches and put the stand back but made zero attempt to make it right. Good business practice would have been to compensate me for the time at least So incredibly over priced and did not even try to make things better. We have been here before over many years but not any more with this guy. The kid we got the tree from I think was shocked that the manager set the price so high for to the tree in the first place. My family and I had great experiences going to Bennetts. We've been going for many years! This year wasn't a great experience. Our child has ADHD and we were just prove by a worker how they are with special needs. There are signs saying don't pick up pumpkins by the stem and my child who was hyper, excited, and wasn't really focused happened to pick up a small pumpkin by the stem and lightly swing it to put it in his other hand but instead a inch to a inch and a half stem broke off and the pumpkin fell to the ground. I looked at the pumpkin making sure it was fine and it was. The worker with a beard said we had to pay for it. Thought he was joking and I told him the pumpkin was fine and still has a long enough stem. He wasn't joking and said we have to pay for it. I've NEVER heard of paying for a pumpkin if the stem breaks off. Maybe if the pumpkin itself smashed but a stem? Ridiculous! read more

They charged my unknowing daughter $140 for this "custom tree stand" to support the XL 15' tree we bought today. They totally took advantage of her young appearance. Yes $140 on top of the $440 for the tree. The tree was way too large for the cheap crappy flimsy base and tipped over several times within an hour causing the rebar to break off in the trunk. And, many branches to break. When we brought the broken base back, they had major attitude. They ultimately refunded our money and picked up the now-trashed tree ; presumably just to sell it again. To put the photo in perspective, the trunk is 8" in diameter. Will not go back, and you shouldn't either. Bad customer service, and even worse ethics. read more

Went to buy a tree like every year at the same place. Took my tree home finding out it was crooked and couldn't fix it. At first I was very happy and pleased that they took their time to come to my house and try to fix it and took it back and brought it back fixed. Finding out that they switched my tree without letting me know. Came the very next day to let them know that they could've been honest and tell me that they had to switch the tree. We went in on Friday night picked out our tree & asked to have it flocked and ready for pick up on Sunday. This morning we called for an update and were informed they could not find our tree and would call us back. We waited 2 hours and no one called. We called back and they found the tree and never flocked it. There was no apology just an excuse that the weather was bad. There was no wind or cold weather yesterday in Santa Clarita. We picked up our Christmas tree today from Bennett's Best. They have a large selection of trees and wreaths which made it that much harder to pick just one. The best part is they have all the trees opened and standing on a base to make it easy to shop around. We ended up getting a FRESH 5'/6' noble fur for $72. Everyone there was extremely helpful and nice to us and everyone else they were helping. Two guys cut the stump off 1/2" to keep it fresh and carried it to our truck. Lets not forget about the free holiday candy and popcorn they offered our little kids. We will definitely get our tree here every year just like all the years before!! read more

This year we took a look at the big box stores, and the trees looked like Italian Cyprus (skinny) but the tree we found here looks like a Hershey's Kiss (I posted a picture). We have been going here for 12 years. For trees and for pumpkins. We have been dedicated customers. This was until last night. The new supervisor/manager was the rudest person we have ever experienced. He was NOT welcoming and treated everyone as if we were inconveniencing him. On top of it all.. they are over charging now. We got what most definitely was a 6-7 ft tree but because they pushed the branches UP they charged for the next level up. If I would have known this I would have grabbed a bigger tree knowing that was going to be what we were being charged. Normally we have someone assisting us measuring FOR us but we sat there for 30 minutes until My husband finally grabbed the tree himself. I have emailed the owners. The response I got said she wasn't justifying the new manager but in fact that is exactly what she did by saying he is new. Also made it a point to say that that is how this industry is. This is the normal. Well that wasn't the normal for the past 12 years. Never once did she ask how she can make it right. Instead just stated she hopes we will be back. You're kidding right? You want us to come back after that awful experience and not ask how you can make it right? An evening that was supposed to be full of Christmas spirit was in-fact ruined by a true grump!
