Wow. It had been a couple of years since I first became aware of Bloom Ranch. I'm not originally from California, but in the spaces I've moved through, I've always done my best to support Black-owned businesses whenever possible. Unbeknownst to me, I had no idea Bloom Ranch hosted a jazz brunch experience on the property. I was reminded about Bloom Ranch by someone whose opinion I trust deeply. She had traveled all the way from San Diego for the experience and left without words. She couldn't quite explain the levity, the love, the light, or what she had felt there. That was all I needed to know. I immediately booked a Sunday brunch and came with my partner and another couple. The experience begins long before you arrive. Driving from Pasadena into Acton, the landscape slowly transforms. The city gives way to rocky hills, rugged peaks, and wide-open skies. Then suddenly, you turn into Bloom Ranch and find yourself transported. Lush gardens, lavender, herbs, fruit trees, and rows of vibrant greenery welcome you onto the property. It feels as though you've stepped into another world entirely. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed not only by the Bloom Ranch staff, the people who steward and cultivate the land, but by what genuinely felt like family. From start to finish, we were cared for, supported, and guided through an experience that felt intentional in every way. The soulful jazz music would periodically pull you out of conversation because it was simply too beautiful not to fully absorb. The food was prepared in-house, sourced from the land, and served by people whose care and intention could be felt in every detail. What surprised me most was how spiritual the experience felt. There is something profoundly grounding about being surrounded by people who genuinely love the land, nurture it, and share its abundance with others. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, Bloom Ranch offers something increasingly rare, presence. It invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember your connection to nature, community, and yourself. I am filled with immense gratitude for having experienced something so special, created by people who look like me, people who feel like me, people who are intentionally cultivating peace, connection, stewardship of the land, and community. I was also filled with an incredible sense of pride. Bloom Ranch is the largest Black-owned ranch in Los Angeles County, and its existence feels both meaningful and necessary. Dr. Bill Releford is a beacon, a pillar of optimism, wisdom, and possibility. To witness someone carry the values and lessons of his upbringing through a successful medical career and into the creation and stewardship of Bloom Ranch is truly inspiring. And then there is Debra Releford, the Matriarch, whose warmth and presence seem to illuminate the heart and soul of the ranch itself. To say that I will return almost feels inadequate. It makes it sound like Bloom Ranch is simply a venue where one has an experience and then goes home. That is not what this felt like. What it felt like was being welcomed into a family. Into a community. Into a frequency of love, joy, nourishment, and belonging that has been needed for a very long time. Today we visited Bloom Ranch in Acton for their Jazz Brunch and Ranch Tour afterwards to celebrate our anniversary. What a wonderful time. Bloom Ranch is owned and operated by Dr. Bill and Debra Releford. It is the largest black owned ranch in LA County. It was such a pleasure to meet them. Everyone was so welcoming and provided such professional service. The food was delicious absolutely delicious and farm FRESH. Plus, jazz by Herbie K was just the icing on the cake. Such a great adventure. Celebrating a friends birthday and we rode up to see the produce, nature and got the chance to take a tour. All staff were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the product. The energy was so relaxing, happy and tasty! We were able to sample the vinaigrette, tangerines, trail mix, toffee, jams and butter. My favorite was the honey ginger and peach vinaigrette. The trail mix was addictive and the honey was so good. I bought broccoli, green tomato, peach and honey ginger vinaigrette, brown sugar scrub, sun dried tomato with garlic, honey in a jar, peach vanilla jam (taste just like peach cobbler) Can't wait to go back in the spring read more

Had an outstanding time here Sat. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed so many samples of the butters, granola, toffee, balsamic vinegars and olive oils, we had to buy some of each, as well as the driving tour which came with a goodie bag containing body butter, rosemary oil, and dry rub. I visited the farm for their first Sunday Jazz brunch and enjoyed myself. It was really hot , however the staff were so kind and accommodating and made sure guests were hydrated. My focus was the jazz brunch as it was too hot to tour. Brunch featured a saxophonist performing a range of covers. They had a full brunch spread. After the brunch was over , I went in the store and bought candles, soap and juice. I hope to return in the spring with more manageable weather. read more

I recently attended a brunch at Bloom Ranch in Acton, CA. Bloom Ranch is Los Angeles County's largest Black-owned ranch, led by Dr. Bill Releford group. Our group organizer asked everyone to arrive to the ranch by 9:30 a.m. My wife and I made the long drive from the Torrance, Ca area. Although the trip was lengthy, I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival by the warm welcome and helpful staff assisting with parking, which made for a positive first impression. We arrived to Bloom Ranch arriving at 9:30 a.m., after a long drive from the Torrance area. Despite the chilly 41-degree weather, the staff made everyone comfortable by welcoming our group inside to warm up before seating us outdoors. With about 100 guests in attendance, and heat lamps provided, the setup was well organized and accommodating. Guests were dismissed by tables to enjoy a brunch that was fresh, hot, and delicious. From eggs, grits, and waffles to a made-to-order omelet station, every dish was prepared perfectly. The attentive food crew ensured coffee and juice were served promptly and professionally. Adding to the atmosphere, a live saxophonist provided enjoyable music during the meal. After brunch, guests were invited to explore the Bloom Ranch Store, which offered a wide variety of goods including fresh eggs, greens, honey, butter, pantry items, harvest boxes, candles, vinegar, and more. Absolutely enjoyed my time here!! I came with a group so we had a scheduled private tour of the farm in collaboration with Chef Camila Casañas who led a cooking class with produce straight from the farm. Kelly and Nick from Bloom Ranch welcomed us so warmly and showed us so much love and care! This is such a beautiful farm with rich culture and so cool to the the largest Black-owned farm in LA! I felt so lucky to be there to see the hollyhocks in bloom! They have become a new favorite flower. I cannot wait to be back and bring my loved ones here. Yesterday's Sunday Brunch was amazing at "The Bloom Ranch in Acton, CA"!!! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with outstanding hospitality from all the staff members who we encountered. The owner Dr. Bill Releford and his lovely wife graciously gave us the best feeling of welcoming hospitality and customer service, that we couldn't help but feel like family members instantly! The Ranch is beautiful and is over 250 acres I believe he said, the views of the mountains are incredible. The wooden deck where the brunch is held is amazing and decorated so nicely, with the setup for whichever kind of jazz performer is there for the day. No worries because it's great views no matter where they seat you at for Brunch But we were blessed and had front row seats today!!! The Cowboy waiters were extra extraordinary and had perfect personalities and hospitality which made the atmosphere even more special. The food options were amazing and tasty The champagne was flowing and in different flavors ranging from the typical mimosas to watermelon mimosas to peach mimosas Such a variety of mimosas cocktails The saxophone performance was wonderful We were taken care of constantly our cups overflowing with champagne music was grooving the crowd!!! We learned history of the ranch from Dr. Bill His wife showed us and explained the ranch is not only for Brunch - That people can picnic and that a stream runs through it after rainstorms or snow which is a beautiful time to visit because the flowers bloom beautifully It had the most beautiful outhouse or port-a-potty I've ever seen so clean and beautiful The food was absolutely delicious Everything in the store was natural ingredients and the produce was fresh all the fruit and vegetables It was beautiful hearing his family's incredible story as Black Farms and being the ones who Owned this Black Farm establishment We will definitely be back Dr. Bill and now that I've found out that you and my Son-in-Law Ivan Sylve know one another YES we will be back with the entire Family now. Every person we encountered made us feel right at home, and the market? Absolutely irresistible! My family and I just visited this farm for the first time for their BHM celebration and we had such a pleasant time. The grounds are like a little oasis, not much is blooming during this time of year. But I look forward for going back this late summer/fall. They had some of the most delicious strawberries that I've had in a long time. They tasted so fresh and sweet. We also got some greens, bread, honey, butter, vinaigrette, well as you can see we got a little bit of everything. Everything we tried was absolutely yummy. Sunday morning brunch celebrating a birthday of a girlfriend we were directed to a parking spot on this beautiful ranch. A bus took us to the brunch location. It was a food to table experience. The service was impeccable as you have a choice of Mimosas. Omelets were freshly made, beautiful fresh fruit, fried chicken, nice creamy grits with spinach, and the waffles with peach cobbler was dynamite. I went with some friends recently for the jazz brunch. It was really nice and the food was quite tasty especially the omelet made from the eggs of the chickens raised at the ranch. I did not understand the peach ?? which I thought was a cobbler but bore no resemblance to one. Perhaps they may rethink that peach something. The service was outstanding. Everyone especially the "ranch hands" gave outstanding customer service. Thanks to Rain who assisted me in getting tickets. My only concern is how they do the ticket surcharge. Visiting this Black owned ranch with a friend made for a lovely weekend. Located less than an hour drive from Los Angeles and not too far from Palmdale, Bloom Ranch is fairly easy to find as there are numerous signs, but parking is limited. During the regular harvesting season, there'd likely be more activities. But since we came after the main harvest was completed there wasn't that much left to pick. We took a very interesting and adventures tour with Elijah, learning about the farm's history and future plans. The tour highlighted where they grow peaches, pears, and marigolds, but the sunflower and pumping patch were dry. In the gift shop they sell fresh veggies from the greenhouses, frozen peaches and pears from past harvests, and handmade soaps and souvenirs. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a great time with many great photo opportunities. Being out in the natural ambiance was definitely good for the soul. I highly recommend it. read more

First time at the ranch and I'm planning to return. I will definitely be back in August when the peaches are ready. Today the site was filled with orchids of peach trees in their early stage. I didn't make reservations for a tour guide so I had to go it alone but didn't get too far because I really needed a guide to tell me what I was looking at. Lol. They have an area with airstreams and I was told that they're planning to offer overnight stays in the future. The store is so cute with a variety of teas, coffee, apothecary items, fresh greens, jelly, honey and other items. The young lady at the register was so delightful and informative. They have a tasting table And that's when I was able to taste that delicious toffee! On this day there was a wedding soon to take place. You can bring your own food because they have at least four eating areas It was not crowded. There may have been about 30 people and as I was leaving more were arriving. From the moment we arrived, I immediately felt the stress leave my body I just knew this would be the perfect place to recharge. The first person we met was Ms. Kelly, who has the most beautiful green eyes and the kindest energy. She was so welcoming, and I could instantly tell she's the heart of the ranch. We took a tour and learned so much about the property from the lavender fields to the peach and watermelon areas. Everything smelled amazing and felt so peaceful. It was such a refreshing and grounding experience. I'm a little sad I missed their jazz night, but that just gives me the perfect excuse to come back (and this time I'm bringing my mom!). Where do I start? The drive to Bloom Ranch is so beautiful. Once you arrive the scenery is amazing with the flowers along the road getting to the ranch. Love the antiques stationed in different places. I was greeted by a young lady that was very professional, very welcoming and friendly. She shared about having an event there and about their store. The store got me. They had greens like collard and mustard greens, homemade toffee, aromatherapy products, homemade seasonings, honey, fresh sourdough bread (I purchased the Black Parmesan), homemade butter and so much more. Be expected to spend money. Love their Chicken farm. It was a last minute choice to go check them out. I am glad I made it. I had a really good time. I will be back for their strawberry cinnamon rolls served on Saturday's. See yall again soon!! I took my girlfriends back with me today for a tour, to shop and to get the famous strawberry cinnamon roll. We had so much fun. My sister and I arrived at the Ranch on 11/8 /2025 at around 1:30 ish. We were greeted by other visitors celebrating a birthday as well as staff members. We immediately went in the gift shop, we bought a t-shirt, peaches a peach cobbler and some tea! We then decided to take the ranch tour in the little buggy with Cody, he was very informative and the view was great. When we returned a nice staff member let us try persimmons...they were tasty! ! I had the most amazing day this past Saturday at Bloom Ranch. It was such a wonderful experience. Driving into this lovely ranch truly felt as though I had time traveled to a peaceful time in another world. Everyone I met who worked there was very friendly and made me and my friends feel right at home. Kellie, Nick and Mo were outstanding and educated us about everything from produce (which was delicious) and other items for sale from the store as well as giving us a jeep tour of the ranch. The ranch is very peaceful and picturesque. Just what my mind, body and soul needed. They also host wonderful venues and activities on the ranch as well as over night stays in luxury mobile homes that include breakfast, lunch and dinner. We live nearby so are very happy they revamped the ranch. A lot of money has been spent on it. We have been to three events there. Our favorite was the jazz and wine night with food to purchase. The price point was good for that - I think around $40? The brunch was good but just not our type of food. The jazz with light bites and wine was pricey as the quality of the food wasn't that good to warrant $80. But I will go back for the fruit, the honey and their coffee in their store for sure. This place is so amazing it's a beautiful hidden gem in the hills of Acton. So much thought and care has been put into every aspect of the grounds. They have beautiful gardens and show you so many different parts of the property. We took a tour on Father's Day with our two daughters, and our tour guide was amazing. I wish I remembered her name she was so sweet and knowledgeable. All the staff was wonderful and super welcoming. We went crazy in their store we wanted to buy everything. We got oils, bath bombs and balsamic vinegar, different herb butters, popsicles, lip balms, and more! I highly recommend the lemongrass rosemary hair oil. It left my hair feeling soft and smells so good. For us that we are chicken people we were amazed by the coops.
