I purchased a "show quality" English Bulldog from Phenix Bulldogs. I paid $3500 with shipping. I…read moredidn't have the dog for a month when she came down with a severe case of Mange. I notified Joann Meneffee of her condition and she instructed me to take her to a well known English Bulldog Vet. (Dr. Butchko) and I did so. The Dr. came in and examined her as did another Vet., I received a letter from the Vet. and forwarded it to Joann and it confirmed my dog did indeed have a severe case of Mange. The Vet. instructed me that I shouldn't breed her and she should be fixed. Joann instructed me to return the dog and she would send a new one but not to neuter the dog even thought the Vet. had highly recommended it. I could not in good conscience let her re-sell this dog or breed her, so I declined and kept her. Since I have owned "Ruby", she has cost more than $6,000 in Vet. bills. Phenix Bulldogs is one of the worst breeders I've ever seen.

Joann was the most kind and gracious woman, bulldog owner and breeder we have ever (still to this…read moreday) have ever met! Our son went through cancer treatment and was given the nick name "Bulldog" by the staff because of his love for the GA Bulldogs (team) and his fighting spirit. He wasn't too familiar with the actual breed of English Bulldogs.... Yet. Joann heard of this from her own daughter and grand daughter so she she lovingly and most graciously met with our son at the hospital and told him he could have his pick of her litter! Joann gave a little boy hope! The hope of knowing he would have a precious loving pup waiting on him after a horrendous journey in his life! He named her "Cherry"... Cherry was the light of his life for a very long time. Her body, bite, hips, everything was perfect!!! We never had any problems with her health at all until the end. You see, Cherry herself came down with cancer. Some believe she "took" the illness from the love of her life-her lil boy (our son). No matter what the real reason was we know she brought such joy, happiness and live to our sons life (our whole family). We fought with Cherry during her battle and unfortunately she lost her battle at the age of 7. She lived a beautiful life and was a beautiful bully given to my son by a beautiful soul. She's no longer with us, but again Thank You Joann Menefee for your heart and gorgeous breed.
