So I tried this place again due to the very limited options in Borger. The service and food suck. The lettuce in my salad was black. When I showed my server she told me "well I didn't make it and walked away". This may not be the worst restaurant in the country but it's sure trying hard to get the title. It's been a long time since I've had Bennigan's. It was the first place I had a Monte Cristo back in the '90's - And it's just as good today. I ordered delivery - the food was fresh and hot AND plentiful. I called to ask for some ice with my order and they gladly obliged with a bag much bigger than I ever expected THANKS. We as a Church Group went to Bennigan's, 4/4/2023, @9:15pm. My wife ordered a Cobb Salad & specifically, told the young male WAITER, to ask the cooks to please make sure the Chicken that came with that order, was/is freshly made. When the waiter brought her Salad, it was the worst dried out chicken that she or I had ever tasted. Man what has happen to the BENNIGAN THAT FIRST OPENED HERE IN Borger? Your food items are terribly anymore, and that also includes your breakfast meals also, your foods is Horrible anymore. What happened....at this rate you will not be in business much longer. I hate to think like that but the Truth, Is The Truth. Gave Bennigan's another chance we were seated fast but waited over 15 minutes for a waitress as many kept walking past . I finally got ahold of the hostess and she had to find another waitress because ours was having a meltdown. Our new waitress was very pleasant and fast had our food quickly. The other waitress was arguing with the manager and I heard her turn customers away because they stopped serving breakfast at 10:45 and was now 10:50 and the menu says 11:00. Excellent service. Prompt seating. Waitress was professional. Had the mix and match app sampler - broccoli bites, buff chick bites, and burger bites - great, hot, well cooked and flavorful. Also tried sriracha shrimp app. Friend tried shrimp & chicken dish which was great. Cesar salad was fresh and green and nicely prepared. I don't know why this place has 2 star rating. Never have I seen waiters and waitresses sitting on their ass while the bartender scrambled to serve. Food was horrible, fries must have been set under a salamander- super mushy in the middle and the plate was super hot! Sat next to someone at the bar that was waiting to pickup an order, it took an hour for 1 monte Cristo and soup to come out of the kitchen. Where is management??? How about expediting??? I would give this place a zero if i could. took 10 minutes to be greeted/seated in a restaurant of 3 customers and 6 staff members. took another 15 minutes to have our drink orders taken. another 10 minutes to get those drinks. food took an hour to come out and when it didn't, it was cold and had to be sent back to be heated up. the waffles were put in a toaster and are eggo's. i have given this place at least 15 tries and the same experience every-time. this place needs to be on kitchen nightmares. read more

My server was Shelby. My burger was raw and I asked for well done. I told the server Shelby and she said sorry that there is nothing she could do. I had a hidden charge on cheese of a $1.00 when the menu clearly said I had options on cheese. I was never offered for my burger to get fixed. I was offered a 20% discount if a 1.90. I had only taken 2 bites. I asked for loaded fries and so did my friend. We explained that we wanted it like the lunch special. sour cream, guacamole, bacon, chives, nacho cheese... we got shredded cheese and bacon Only. So basically with that hidden charge I got 90 cents taken off my meal. WOW seriously so mad right now. I still tipped her because I have a heart. She explained the manager sucks and she can't fix anything about my plate other then offer a 20% discount. So I basically got to eat my fries and two bites of my burger before she threw it away. read more

We went to eat there October 26, 2021. We were on lunch which is only an hour long. We sat out on the patio but went inside to order, there were only 2 tables of only 2 people at each table. My question is why did it take 45 minutes to get our lunch? , only 4 other people? The was an awful experience with the management here at Bennigans. The Manager Carlos Beltran needs a serious lesson in how to deal with customers. My elderly mother had an Irish dip sandwich which was over cooked like crazy. The meat was charred and hard. When we mentioned it to the server she came back to the table to take our plate to the kitchen so the manager could see the plate. He wouldn't even come to the table to see what was going on. Then when the server came back she said the manager decided that even though we were really unhappy with the food he went going to do anything with it or make any kind of changes. We were left with bad food and not even a visit from the manager or any kind of correction in the bill. If this restaurant was in a real town there is no way it would stay in business. read more

I was surprised to find a Bennigan's still open and especially in a small Texas town. I came in for breakfast and soon realized I wanted the monte Christo, but at 10:45 they didn't serve lunch until 11:00. So instead of going all Michael Douglas on them I decided to order breakfast since I was traveling and didn't want to wait the 15 minutes. Which is weird but hey, that's the rule. It was good, I liked that they use real sausage and not those frozen patties. They are real ground sausages. The meal was good and affordable. read more

Nice mellow time yesterday afternoon. We had some burgers, drinks, and the reuben fritters (different but pretty damn good!) Our waitress was smooth & polite. The food got to us in a timely fashion, was warm, and tasted great. I recommend the Irish coffee as a dessert. Go there yourself and find out if you like it or not. We'll be back for more. read more

First time here.....came here with my mom....service was good and the waitress(Sonia) was on point with the service.. we started off with the County Clare Sampler appetizers were dry and seemed like it came from the freezer to a microwave..not good..my mom ordered the Ribeye steak with a side of French onion soup...she enjoyed the Ribeye and fixings...onion soup was bland and the onions were too soggy and stringy with too much bread....I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo and a side of sweet potato fries....Alfredo was lacking more sauce..mediocre for taste...sweet potato fries when first brought to me were burnt and looked as they had been sitting out for awhile....returned them for some fresh ones....those came back really good. Overall I will rate it two stars for the service only and I'd only come back to sit at the bar to order drinks..watch the sports and eat the sweet potato fries. read more

I really don't recommend this place I had chicken grilled chicken and a double or a broccoli the broccoli was cooked tomatoes al dente but there was no seasoning at all the grilled chicken breast was dry as the Sahara desert. My husband & I haven't been to a Bennigan's since we were kids so we decided to try it for breakfast & it didn't disappoint. They have a simple breakfast menu but it was delicious. the waitress kept our drinks full, provided excellent service & was incredibly attentive. Just finished eating and it was disgusting! There were 4 of us and everything was horrible. On top of the nasty food, we waited 1 1/2 hours to get our order. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. There was no reason for the 1 1/2 hour wait and the food was ice cold when we finally got it. In that 1 1/2 wait we saw our waitress 2 times. We will never be back. We went on St Patrick's Day 2018 & it wasn't all that bad. The food was hot and they had some karaoke going on near the bar which played some good classics. The only reason for the 4 stars is because the waitress had to be reminded that we had been sitting for about 10mins with no drink order. The Bennigan's in most of this region have dwindled & closed. This was a nice surprise in small town Texas. Clean restaurant, friendly service & of course the famous "Monte Cristo" sandwich. If I head back to Borger, I'll stop by again. read more

This is a new property in a very small, rural town. I walked in as a single on a Wednesday at dinner time and was seated promptly. Service was friendly & efficient. Food was very good - and my request for extra veggies (and no potatoes) with my NY Strip steak was handled seamlessly. The bar is on one end of the dining area so I was concerned about noise, but it wasn't a problem at all - even after the restaurant began filling up. This is a great choice for American fare in the Panhandle of Texas! read more
