They have a large public computer room that's always clean and printers and copier machines! Only thing I can say is that I wish they had a better African American selection and not just for black history month but all months! But whenever I did look for an African American author that i couldn't find they did get it for me.

Many many years ago, I participated in their summer reading programs and loved every second.. Librarians are super helpful and the new movie section is very... shall I say it... new? Not Netflix or redbox but they're so helpful that it's only a couple extra steps to get the same movies free. Can't beat free! Unless you're the Situation and you're being paid to not wear A&Fitch clothing.. Can't beat being paid for NOT doing something! Also, the inter-library loan system is super quick so don't hesitate when it comes to putting a book on hold from a different library:) Yayy books!

Most important for me are the free wifi and the availability of private work rooms for 1-3 people; the rooms are available on an hourly basis. If you don't have a computer they do have a computer room; I didn't try that but I presume their computers are available per hour. A message to the other reviewer: if you get to the library early enough you can get one of the rooms and stay there for 2, maybe three hours. I believe you have to be a resident of Schiller Park to use the facilities or at least check out a book or video; it's OK if anyone corrects me on this. And the staff is friendly too.

The DVD collection is frequently updated and I am often able to get a new release way quicker than I would from Netflix. I love the fact that you can search the library's database and maintain your account online. I am one of those people who feel lost and confused walking into a library (so many choices!), so helping me narrow down what I want online is great. The library has quite a few computers available. It is also Wi-Fi ready, so you can bring your laptop and click away.

I was here because I was picking up my car nearby and that location (to be discussed in another post), and needed a place to work for the foreseeable future. I looked up public libraries near me and found the Melrose Park Public Library. I drove over and muffed on the parking lot entirely. It came up before the building and I missed it, but parked right around the corner on the street across from a church (located behind the library). I walked in, saw workspaces and reserved one easily from the librarians up front. They were friendly and helpful and steered me into a specific workspace that had closed off walls so I could do a Teams Meeting without my headphones. Their wi-fi was strong enough for me to do the work I needed to do without having to close any open tabs on my screen. I was even able to eat in the workspace which is frowned upon at other libraries. When I was done for the day, I thanked them and got to chat with them for a few moments. They were friendly and helpful. If I'm ever in the area again and need a workspace, I'm not going to Starbucks, I'm coming here.
