I tried to give Calvin a chance. He became a friend after doing work for me. However, he asked me for an advance on work that he was supposed to perform. I had been working with him for a few months and after some deep consideration and trepidation, I made the call to help him out with the understanding that he had to show up and do the work. He NEVER showed up and when I tried to call him on it, he spoke to me a few times on the phone telling me how many "problems" he was having. I am a kind-hearted and empathetic individual so I kept calling to pin him down on a date for the scheduled work. He never gave me an honest answer and finally I asked for a refund/repayment of the advance. Again, many promises but no commitment or follow-through. Finally, he stopped answering the phone. To be perfectly clear: He GHOSTED me. I am pretty angry about this. This happened at the beginning of the year - after my first review. I have given the young man plenty of time but he has completely and totally abused my trust and my good nature.
