I spent the entire year, being very concerned about my heart, because she kept having me come in for more tests. Would say things like, oh this is not good, we need to run a different test. In all I went in about 12 times for different tests or followups. Never really got answers. The equipment in the office is faulty. Stress test didn't work, and when they took my blood pressure a couple of different times it was off the charts, one time it errored out, and caused bruises, but when they checked manually it was good. (I don't have high blood pressure), the tech said "oh do you have a blood clot in the other arm?" What? Insinuating that I had a blood clot and that is what caused the error. The office staff is probably the worst I have ever encountered. They can't answer questions, and will literally lie with excuses. When I finally found a new cardiologist, (only because I needed clearance for a hip surgery) he was shocked at the amount of testing that was done. The only meds I am on is one aspirin a day and she told me exercise and eat healthy. Racked up alot of bills, because it was so excessive the insurance quit covering it. She also charges to talk to you on the phone. And will charge twice in one day, if you use the at home heart monitor. I think the dr is very knowledgeable and if I had actually had a problem maybe she would have helped me. But the staff and faulty equipment make the experience awful. read more

I have no symptoms, but my PCP recommended I see a cardiologist because of family history. On my first visit, an NP charged me a copay to tell me I would need three tests before I saw Dr. Farah. Complicated because they only do each test on certain days of the week (so stress tests only on Tuesdays, echo's only on Wednesdays, etc.). After the three tests, Dr. Farah didn't go over the results. She only told me there was an abnormality, and I needed two more tests. I was terrified. When the front office scheduled those tests for 6 weeks later, I wondered if I needed to go to the ER since I might die in the next 6 weeks from this abnormality. After those tests, Dr. Farah said "low risk" but recommended more tests. After the next test, I watched her write "mild" in her notes, but then she recommended a medication that would dramatically change my lifestyle (she also undersold the side effects as I later learned). I sought a second opinion. He said all of my results were what he'd expect for an average 50 year old who cycles a lot (he took the time to know that I bicycle 5,000-10,000 miles a year; she ignored that when I volunteered the information). I will never go back to Dr. Farah. I wasted $500 in copays and a lot of my time. read more

If I could leave a zero I would. I have been "seeing" doctor Farrah for over two months and I still have not met her in person. She has rescheduled multiple appointments and not shown up in person for several. I was forced to discuss detailed and discreet medical information while her nurse was holding a phone on speakerphone and the doctor was not there. Doctor tried to justify it as a one time occurrence but in my two months of over eight appointments, I have not been seen on time once. The minimum wait has been 40 minutes in office and over 90 minutes for phone appointments. If this is the baseline, I want a doctor that I can actually meet The nurses have absolutely no idea what they're talking about. At a minimum I think the nurses should be able to tell you what test they're doing and what they're looking for. The office staff could not tell me what they were looking for and had to Google what the tests were for. if you want to wait over an hour for every appointment this is the place for you if you want actual medical care run, don't walk. And they pay for good reviews, on my first visit they tried to get me to leave a five star review and offered me discounts on things if I did. Just be aware of what you're getting into with this provider. read more

The doctor is great with bedside manner and listening, so it makes it hard to say how terrible the rest of the office is run. First off be prepared to wait no less than an hour to an hour and a half to even be seen. They are constantly over booking, like there needs to be a point in time when one doctor needs to stop excepting new patients until there's a patient who leaves, because there is no way she is able to keep up and fully take care of every person sitting in her office in a one days time let alone over an entire week. You'll sit in one waiting room with 12 other people while the rest over flow into the second waiting room and be around 5-8 in there. Then you'll never want to schedule near lunch time, because if you get there for an 11am appt. and you have to wait til 12 to be seen, get ready to sit there til 1, because the entire office just completely stops for a lunch break. There's no lunch break shifts to keep things going. The lady at the window will literally sit there have someone walk in at 12, because that's their appt. time obviously, and won't even check them in by saying, sorry we are on lunch right now, have a seat and I will check you in when it's done. Why in the world do you even schedule an appt. at that time if you know you won't even see them til lunch is over. Then they want to get an attitude that you even had the audacity to talk to them on a lunch break, like what else is a person supposed to do when walking into an office, than walking straight to check-in, like they're just supposed to know you're on lunch and need to immediately take a seat and waste an hour waiting for you to stop eating? Next we'll get into the sketchy insurance practice they use...you will never ever be able to do 2 things in one office visit, because then they can't charge you multiple co-pays. You cannot get an echo and a heart monitor on the same day, because then they can only charge you 1 co-pay or and treadmill test the same day as an echo or god-forbid all 3 on the same day. Nope, you'll have to schedule 4 different times, so my co-pay is $60, $60 times 4 in a one months time on top of a minimum time frame of 2.5 hours each- except the heart monitor, you wait 30 mins just to walk in the back to get a sticker stuck on you and walk out- $60 just for that. Then if your individual deductible is paid up, they then argue with you they are still allowed to charge a co-pay because your family deductible isn't paid. Here's the kicker- both my individual and family is paid if full for this whole year and they claim we still owe $2000 on our family deductible, so still require a co-pay for each of the 3 appts I have in a 1 weeks time. Our account says paid, so I don't know who they're calling to see we still have a balance! I live 45 mins from this office, I have an appt on Thursday for an echo, Friday for a heart monitor and Monday for a stress test. So in a 3 days time I will spend close to 11 hours and $300 at this cardiologist office. Then your follow up appt. to go over all these tests will be another 3 weeks to a month away...so sit at home wondering if your hearts going to give out at anytime while you wait to see if the test results are okay or not, with your 4th 4 hour ordeal appt. at the office. Maybe if this was a once a year thing to go through not so bad, but I've had to do those 4 appts. twice this year, not including extra follow ups just to make sure things are going okay with my heart during pregnancy. My entire individual deductible for the year was covered due to this single doctor's office co-pays. Which I guess is nice because I didn't have to pay deductibles at any of my other doctor's appts, but how are they still able to refuse you for not paying a co-pay with both your deductibles fully paid. If you want to deal with that for the polite and sweet docotor it's worth it, but after a year and a half of this, I think I'll switch doctors soon, I just don't have the time for all of this and I feel bad for anyone who has a higher co-pay than mine. You'll never be able to afford to make sure your hearts okay, but that's the crappy American health system for ya! read more

Having the right cardiologist is one of the more important decisions you will make as a heart patient. Today's shifting climate on healthcare makes this a difficult task. I have been a heart patient since I was in my late 40's, now in my late 60's. I started with a good one for 16 years, then our relationship went south after i nearly died, forcing me to look for another. Two years with an incompetent one, needed a new one, lead me finally to Dr. Farah's doorstep. I've seen other reviews which mention the long waits, I've also meant other women who have traveled in to see her for over 5 years in the wait room. Yes, there needs some improvement in time management of appointments, but would I have even gotten in to see her, to have my life saved? Do I want to be rushed through my appointment like a field of cattle? NO. I will be patient because she's worth being patient for. If your life is worth a great deal to you as it should be, then she is the kind of doctor we need more of. There are so many needy patients and some doctors treat us like a number which can overlook a serious problem. You will not have that kind of treatment from Dr Farah. She has good instincts, she will not stop until she is sure you are safe, heart healthy. Her bedside manner is a reflection of who she genuinely is, I have never seen anything but true caring from her. She saved my life when all I wanted was cardiac clearance for another surgeon soon after I switched. She wouldn't give it until she was sure it was safe to do. I had seen my last cardiologist just a few months before where he gave me a "clean bill of health", and a complete disregard as a person, I might add. So I pushed back when Dr Farah wanted some tests. But she spoke her truth, was kind and off we went. When the first tests set off alarms to her, she ordered more extensive tests. The final result, I was in heart trouble. If I had stayed with that other cardiologist, I would most likely have passed away, and quickly. There is not enough praise I can give Dr Farah for saving my life. My family thanks her. I am a woman of Faith and I am grateful God lead me to her care. Office experience, all of her staff have always been kind and working hard to take care of her patients. I do know that if you have a problem inside her office, Dr Farah wants to know about it. Nothing can be improved unless her patients kindly speak up, that does matter to her. I hope my review is helpful to those who take time to read this. I will end as I started, your health heart is important. Having the right doctor on your team is a big decision, don't settle for being just a number in somebody's office count. Absolutely love Dr. Farha & her staff. They were very kind, personable & helpful with all my health issues. I went into her office scared to death imagining the worst case scenario. They did all the needed tests on me & found my prognosis. They made me feel so relieved & helped me to resolve all my issues. A person couldn't ask for a better heart doctor then Dr. Farah. She's so sweet & understanding & definitely cares about you. Most Cardiologists aren't as caring, she definitely is the BEST!! I could not be more happy to be a patient of Dr Farahs, She is a type a doctor that everyone needs she's personable, caring and has so much compassion for her patients. You're not just a number and a file to her and the people in the office. I got some news that I wasn't expecting and she took the time to make sure my husband and I understood the prognosis, the treatment and everything that was going to happen. We can't THANK HER enough for everything she has done for me and giving me a new lease on life. Terrence also works in the office and he is absolutly a wonderful asset to her practice he has the same care and compassion as her and will make a amazing asset innthe medical field. I've never had someone in a doctors office tell me that they were rooting for me before before and I've had medical issues all my life so I'm amazed with the care from this office, if you choose anyone for cardiology care other than this office it's a shame. read more
