We are so grateful that my daughter was able to attend Benu's Preschool. There is a long waitlist because she is the best of the best. She has been in the business for more than 22 years. She has a structured and well rounded program. Circle time is part of the day where they do story telling incorporating counting, sorting and basic math, alphabets and phonics, shapes, problem solving and also learning different languages, singing, etc. They also get mat time play where they can unleash their creativity and imagination with educational toys and material. Another activity is arts and crafts where they develop their motor skills, imagination and creativity using different materials, up-cycled material and eco craft. She has fantastic play time where they develop social skills, sharing, respect, values, etiquette, care for others and creativity. They have dramatic play too. They also do gardening where they learn botany at a very young age. They have physical activities like dancing to the music, yoga and walking around discovering bugs, plants, flowers, rocks and keeping them curious. They also learn about animals and care for pets and a lot more... My daughter thrived and became more confident at Nunus and I believe that home based child care prepares children for big school and life. She also offers the food program knowing your that your child will get the proper nutrition. Nunu herself continues her education and develops her knowledge about childcare for her to practice and learn new things and shares her knowledge with the community. She is also the head/president of the Contra Costa child care owners and is part of other organizations as well. Nunu and all her co teachers are amazing and are like family to us. Benu is a lovely person and my infant daughter recognized how sweet and caring she is. My daughter bonded quickly and potty trained pretty early due to Benu and her staff. We welcomed the support tremendously. Although this child care is an in home daycare, my daughter is able to still experience preschool activities and socialize with children of various ages. Where do I begin? I met Benu through friends, whose kids had been attending her pre-school over the years. Everyone always spoke so highly of her and commented on how her approach to care at her preschool not only prepared the little ones socially but also academically as she is not simply a daycare but very focused on the children having structured activities, exposure to other languages, other cultures, etiquette and socialization skills. My husband and I started to attend the pre-school's yearly graduation bbq and I could not help it but to feel teary eyed as I observed the care from Benu and her staff, the love and the happiness in the families' eyes. Even before my husband and I were pregnant, I knew that was the daycare/preschool I would feel comfortable having my baby go to. We asked to be on her waiting list and fast forward to 3 years later and our little bundle of joy is now her student. He loves it and has the biggest smile on his face when I go pick him up. I have 6 kids ages 4-18 so I am a connoisseur of preschools. We sent my daughter here after she was asked to leave two other preschools for aggressive and challenging behaviors. My son went to Benu's preschool after struggling with several other daycares prior to that and we saw an amazing transformation. He was a happy boy again and we saw great improvement in his behavior and ability to focus, sit in one place, listen, interact with others and self-regulate. Benu is amazing with the kids, firm but loving and caring and this is exactly what he needed. The teacher/ kid ratio is great as there are several assistants. Going to Benu was like an extension of our home and he felt safe and happy there. Yes Benu is great at her job, but the school is overrated. It's ridiculously expensive and my kids really didn't learn much academically. She cares a lot for the kids and keeps the kids happy but overall I wasn't really impressed given how expensive the school is. read more

Benu has an amazing, organized, fun, active and all around fantastic preschool. I cannot say enough about her and the preschool she provides for children. I will tell you, she took care of my son who is now 7. And she now takes care of my 6 month old daughter. My son knew how to write his name at the age of 4! Before he even started transitional kindergarten. She has a Spanish teacher, health teacher, firefighters and dentists come to her school. My baby girl at 6 months (who is a mama's girl) loves to go to preschool and doesn't even fuss when I leave for work. I get updates on how she is doing through the day. I love that I can leave her there and I know she is getting the love, attention and guidance a baby needs. Benu also continues to go to school for herself to learn new things for her children. My son has been at NuNu's for about 2 years now and I feel he has learned so much in that little time. He knows Spanish and up to 50 words in sign language and much more I could go on and on. I feel he has such a better education from just her daycare program than most kids do entering kindergarten. He is now going To be in the preschool program portion of her school but honestly I would keep him there until college if I had my choice. Nunu and ALL of the assistants are amazing and are like family. We all feel so comfortable With them and they truly love all the kids as if they are their own. Benu and all her assistant teachers are amazing. They are so caring and treat all the kids like family. The facility is clean, organized, and filled with activities. Our company was hired by Ms. Benu to run a sports program for the children at her school. As an outside vendor who visits schools of different sizes and in different areas, I have a lot of experience seeing how the schools are run and also gauging what is important to the schools. With Benus, I knew right off the bat that the children education and development were the most important aspects of her school. Her staff is very attentive and joins in the activities with the children. They make sure that the children are focused and get the best out of the programs we offer. I also noticed that the children are always happy and looking forward to the physical activities that we bring. This is because they are in an atmosphere that allows them to thrive and grow. My sister found Benu's preschool about 14 years ago for my nieces, it was such a good experience for them that my sister recommended other family members who also fell in love with Benu's preschool! At that time I didn't know when I would have kids but I did know that when I did they would have to go to Benu's preschool! I finally have two boys of my own a 4 year old and a 2 year old, both attending Benu's preschool! I'm more then happy with the care, structure, and social aspects as well as learning and interactions with many different community leaders that my boys are receiving from Benu and her staff! Benu and her staff are amazing!!! She has a fun, educational, clean and organized preschool. My daughter is going to be 2 years old and has been with Benu for a year. I have been so happy with the care and education Mia received. Benu provides great feedback on how Mia is doing and gives helpful suggestions if I have any questions. The school provides great activities to keep the kids entertained and educated. In the last year, Mia was introduced to fire fighters, a Dentist, yoga, books, sign language, Spanish teacher and more. Would highly recommend this home preschool/daycare center. It is run by Benu Chhabra- a well respected early childhood professional in her community. She is continually educating herself in the field, leads courses, speaks at events, and is a community leader in the family childcare community. Beyond her experience and professionalism- she has a beautiful kind heart and takes care of all the children as if they were her own. This school is more playbased and mostly focuses on learning by playing. There are plenty of circletimes, reading, arts and crafts, spanish, counting and learning opportunities as well. Her home cooked meals are nutritional and delicious. Her home is set up nicely with things always tidy and a place for everything and the play yards in the front and back of house are always imaginative play areas that are constantly changed to keep the kids intrigued. Benu, is very motherly and direct with the children. She gives them the space to learn to socialize and regulate their behaviors, but also disciplines and will not hesitate to tell a child right from wrong and keeps a close eye to make sure they are learning from their behavior. My child has had a wonderful time at Benu's school, we have never had any issues. Benu is very easy to communicate with. I also applaud her dedication during 2020 Covid and how she handled this experience. It was quite seemless, and she placed a high importance on following strict criteria to keep her workers, her household, herself and the children safe. Without a doubt- I would 100% reccomend this school. My kiddo tried a different school prior and it didn't work and we are forever grateful for a calm and positive transition to Benu's school. As always, every child is different, so keep that in mind. What worked for us may not work for your family, but I would absolutely give this school a chance. When my son started at Benu's school he had had a very difficult time at two other preschools. He has sensory processing disorder which made it difficult to do may things an average three year old was capable of. From the very first day he began to thrive ! All the behaviors that he was having at the other schools very quickly went away. Benu has a loving nurturing environment that every child in her care benefits from. Benu's Preschool is the best I have ever seen. I cannot say enough about how much passion she has caring for kids. Benu treats all the kids like her children. I was lucky enough to have both of my children attend Benu's preschool. 5 stars is not enough to say how amazing this preschool is. My kids are now 11 and 9. We still go by and see her and first question is - how is school going? She is still invested in them some 4 and 6 years later. I love that! Her dedication to her children in that school is beyond anything you could ever hope for as a parent. Her organization and ability to reach young children is something I have never seen before or since. I love that she mixes in cultural lessons so that when your children enter school, nothing phases them. My kids could count to 20 in English and Spanish when other kids their age could barely count to 5. They were so ready for Kindergarten when they got there and I attribute all of that to Benu's love and dedication. There was NEVER a day that my kids didn't want to get up and go to Benu's because they knew the day they had would be spectacular.
