The music was an eclectic mix of pop, folk, alternative, and classic rock. The bar is Charles Darwin-themed with abundant evolution and Darwin paraphernalia around the bar. I tried the Balimero. The flavor was unusual but complex. Overall, I had a good experience at Darwin's and would recommend them for cocktails in Salzburg.

At the beginning of our visit, they played American rock from the early 2000s before switching to German rock from the same period. I ordered the Caipirinha. Affordable and Welcoming…read more We strolled in at about 9:30 pm tonight, clearly looking like tourists with our backpacks from the day on but got no weird looks or attitude from the servers or people in there. (Could've been because our backpacks are both black?) There was a little booth by the door which we nabbed with no problems. Plus plenty of people there but not so many you can't move. Mostly 20 something year olds but some older too. Generally attractive. The server came up to us right away to take our order even though the place looked busy. Plus the servers share their tips here. You can tell because we had at least 4 or 5 servers who waited on us. And they were all nice. I couldn't have asked for more attentiveness (one waiter got rid of an inebriated guy who clearly didn't get the hint that we weren't interested in speaking with him). I had two Johnny Walker Blacks, two Merlots and one Coke for roughly 22 euros!!! What a deal. The clincher for me is that they also play music I like which includes a whole range of house to hip hop to pop. I would have given them 5 stars had their Scotch menu been more extensive. Either way, I highly recommend!
