To my surprise the…read moreagency that conducted the background check, their findings were inconclusive when reporting their findings to the company they represented nor did this agency contact me prior to reporting the information to the employer. As a result the company decided not to move forward with my candidacy and retracted their offer for employment. I filed a grievance against the agency for failure of not reaching out to me prior to reporting their findings to the agency. I begin scrolling Google to seek out legal representation to verify my position and determine what would be my recourse. My Google search led me to the law firm of Francis*Mailman*Soumilas. Initially I had a conversation with a staffer and I presented her with the details of my complaint. Her response was that she would convey my complaint with Attorney Geoffrey Baskerville. The staffer informed me that if the attorney feels I have a case that he will reach out to me and he did. Attorney Baskerville asked me a series of questions, explained my case pertaining to the laws followed by an email retainer. I looked over the retainer and submitted a signed copy back to the attorneys staffer. After speaking with atty. Baskerville I was sure that I had aligned myself with an attorney who would represent my case to the fullest. Having being implored to re-consider his decision and confronted with a weight of evidence contradictory to his bad decision, he REFUSED to give this matter another look and denied my daughter (I repeat - 12 years old at the time) her basic right to a safe shelter. I find it a cruel joke having to refer to this person as a judge, or even as a man. He displayed neither human decency, professional competency nor integrity looking out for the interest of a child. He told me to get estimates for my leaking roof and water damage. Not having anybody to help, I had trouble finding somebody to come out and give me estimates. I spent the first half of 2022 trying to work with my condominium association on a resolution. In May of 2022, we thought we had a new roof installed which they paid for. The roof started leaking again in December 2022. I had a roofer come out to look at it, and he discovered there was no new roof installed. The roofer pulled a scam on us and only patched the old roof. I called Mr. Cushing back to see if he would be interested in taking the case. I told him my mother and I are both disabled, and really need help with the situation. He told me to get another referral and hung up on me. There were only two attorneys participating in the Low Fee Program at the time, and the other attorney wasn't interested in taking the case either. Of course a full price attorney has taken the case. Don't participate in a program for low income clients if you don't really want to be bothered with their cases. Considering the other reviews, I think Mr. Cushing did us a favor.
