We have used Berger & our agent Ellen Senft for many years. Usually things go well. Mind you Ellen didnt do much... I would find the places I wanted online & email her to book them for me. This year was very poor. We arrived & there were issues with locks not working & more importantly the AC in the unit was broken. I understand things can happen but come to find out Ellen knew about this a day or 2 before. She had ample time to call us & let us know & we could have cancelled. Instead, we went & picked up keys, nobody mentioned the AC issue, & 5 min later when we arrived at the house & I called her she said she knew. We went back & forth trying to find a solution & basically she said we can go home. She was quite rude while I was asking for help finding a solution. The few other units she offered werent as nice & werent in the area we have booked with her for 10+ years. Finally after speaking to her supervisor I got them to bring over 2 window AC units & we were OK. Nobody ever called to apologize or make sure things were going well. The whole thing was just handled very unprofessional & I wouldnt recommend Ellen Senft & we will take our yearly family business elsewhere. read more

We had a comedy of errors with our rental this year. First of all, one of the bed frames was BROKEN leaving half the bed on the floor when we checked in, the shower curtains were covered in mildew and the comforter for the broken bed was stained and gross. We called our agent (Cynthia) who said she would handle it ASAP. There was some confusion with phone calls back and forth. But by 8pm we had a new bed frame, new shower curtains and a new comforter set. She was true to her word and went above and beyond despite a significant electrical issue at one of her other rentals that drew her attention for quite a bit. She was so police, so kind and SO very helpful. Well, we go to check out and sure enough, both my husband and I think the other did a final walk through. We forgot some important (and expensive) items. Called Cynthia. She coordinated with the cleaning crew, stopped by the property and made sure to gather our possessions and keep them in a safe spot for us. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND. We actually usually rented with Monihan, but after this experience, I'll be contacting Cynthia for our future rentals!!! Thanks SO MUCH to them for amazing customer service. read more

Don't go here! Find another real estate agency. After driving two hours down there and two hours back home we signed a rental agreement for a week in August. While we were there the agent called the owner to make sure that week was still open. The owner said yes still open. After a day we come home to a message saying they rented it to someone else!!!!! WHAT!? I gave you a large deposit! After trying to contact them by phone NO ANSWER all day, I sent them an email stating I was hoping that they will sent me back my check that I wrote to them. (We'll see if they even do that!) Now we have to inconvenience ourselves again and drive another two hours down there and back and rent another place! (But definitely not through them!) read more

I was introduced to yelp by a waitress who is trying to get into Realty herself, and I am so glad to know I can voice my opinion for all to hear! I just got home from my family vacation (if you can call it a "vacation"). I had so many problems! So, the little letter of thanks from our Agent ELLEN SENFT gave us her number. I assumed it would be okay to call her. She was annoyed to say the least. First day, we found out there weren't any trash cans out back. What should we do? Ellen told us to walk the alley and find a couple unmarked ones. Reluctantly, my brother-in-law did that. He found one sad can. Day two was uneventful, save for the bad taste in our mouth after our minor problem was turned into an embarrassing garbage can theft. Accommodating? Not even! Day three, oh, baby! I was wishing for the days when we had no garbage cans and had to steal some. The central air broke down and the house temperature shot up to ninety-five degrees! Afraid to annoy her, but on the brink of suffocation, we called ELLEN SENFT and she accused us of fiddling with the stupid thing. No, why would we do that? We're all gonna die, Ellen! Sitting and waiting for the repairman while my whole family was on the boardwalk was a great way for me to spend my vacation. Ellen didn't care. She wouldn't call us back. We had to call her and tell her the filter in the attic had been removed and the whole unit was pooped out. Her response was "Too bad. Leave." (In so many words) It was so hot, we almost did. We couldn't even leave the door to the deck open, because my nephew is a toddler and he didn't want him to fall off the balcony. Nobody even offered to drop off a fan or a portable AC. My whole family goes to stupid Ocean City every year. There's about fifty relatives in that six block radius. So, we couldn't just leave after two and a half days. My sister was so devastated she was crying. We are poor and we only get ONE WEEK of vacation a year. All of this aside.. I get that things go wrong. Fine. But would it have been so hard for ELLEN SENFT to be polite and have empathy. Instead of talking to everyone like they were bratty kids interrupting mommy's bubble bath. Seriously, she was so rude she made my sister cry. My sister doesn't cry ever. I know Real Estate is a busy job, but it's still a people business. You hear complaints and concerns all the time when you are taking people's money. If there's nothing you can do, just SOUND like you care. It's really not that hard to pretend you care about somebody's problem. I will say that my aunt uses Berger Realty and really loves her agent, Brent Kolmer. I believe he is at the same office and is very helpful. I guess the one star can go to him, because our agent doesn't deserve it. Rude! read more
