I mean honestly I needed a special key and they had that key. They went above and beyond to make me a key that was already broken and their level of expertise was able to remake a broken key so I am very happy about that. My issue is that one key cost over $35... I think that is rather expensive for a small key that goes to a safe. Yes one single key cost $37 which to me seems like robbery. There is my complaint but I will say the key opens the safe so not much else I can say. read more

If I could give it his business a no star rating I would. The staff was excellent, but the service was terrible! I bought an expensive lock left it to be keyed, was given an appointment for the lock to be installed. The person never came, didn't call. When I called to inquire, I was given the runaround! I called close to closing time, I was hung up on. Never a call back with an explanation, nothing!! 11/4/19 UPDATE: I disputed the charge on my credit for the cost of the lock that I DO NOT have because I left it at the Berkeley Locksmith store to be keyed, at I might add $20 per key. We found ourselves in need of a mobile locksmith the other day while in Charleston. We had a situation where someone inadvertently took the "main keys" for the car all the way back to Charlotte before we realized the keys were missing. As a result, we had only a "spare" that would unlock the doors & trunk, but would not start the engine. We called AAA for assistance, and they did not have a mobile locksmith on contract in the area. However, they called around and found Berkeley, who was able to come out and assist us at around 7 pm on a Saturday evening. The guy who came out was friendly and professional. I lost both sets of keys to my car. I had these guys cut keys to the VIN then reprogram the car and program 2 keys and FOBs. I'm under the impression this is a mobile service since they had to come to me. The keys are not the car makers branded keys, which ok, I get. Neither FOB was correct, and one was used. I called and they said they'd make it right. I called a week later to check on status, was asked to bring the car and FOBs in. 25 minutes in the car each way. I show up and provide the keys and FOBs. Dude programs the new FOBs and gives it all to me. Both are correct, but one is used again. I called them out, had to tell them the solution. They can do almost any job it seems, just not very polished customer service. I would not use them for anything if I had other options in the future, but in a pinch, maybe. read more

I lost my keys yesterday and spent all night looking for them. And even most of the day. I knew I had to go to work and get be able to use my vehicle. I called Berkley Locksmith and I was quoted a price. I was told they would arrive in an hour. Not even 30 mins later Vernell one of their amazing and I mean completely professional and polite had me a new key within 2 10 mins. I even had an extra key I bought off ebay in my glovebox that I had intended on getting cut. But never got the chance. He offered to cut my extra key for free. I highly recommend Berkley Locksmith and if Vernel is availbaile for the service call ask for him. Only if you want proffesionalism and Quick Service with a very polite, understanding Gentlemen. We had another company try to get off a locked gas cap from a car to which we had lost the gas cap key from. The guy couldn't do it and said it would have to be drilled. Then we called Berkeley Locksmith and Steven came out to Moncks Corner, and had the gas cap off in a matter of minutes!! Highly recommend Steven! HOWEVER, when we dropped the same gas cap off another morning to get a key cut and came back at closing time, they STILL hadn't gotten to it! Very disappointed. read more

My experience with Berkeley Locksmith was absolutely terrible. When I called to have new locks installed on my building, it took me calling and following up after being stood up 3 times for them to actually service me. We requested Medeco locks because that's the lock system we had. When they finally came, they installed mult-t-locks instead and at the time I didn't know enough about locks to say anything. Within one week are keys started getting stuck in the locks, but I didn't want to deal with the hassle of this business again so I waited until I couldn't get into my building one day (3 months later - yes my lock system was completely broken after 3 months) to call the emergency line. The owner or manager got on the phone and began blaming me for my situation and refused to service me. When I explained why I hadn't called (my first terrible experience) he refused to receive the feedback and spoke incredibly condescending to me. It was very unprofessional. I will never do business with them again. I never write reviews but I don't want anybody else to go through this. read more

I had to call 5 separate times to get a technician scheduled, each time I called I spoke to a different person and had to repeat my situation. Then, to really make things terrible, when the technician finally showed up he changed the lock on the wrong mailbox! Of course, this was somehow twisted to be my fault for telling him the wrong number even tho the invoice clearly read our suite number and it's also prominently displayed on our door which he went in and out of at least 4 times. Customer service is a joke, you will never speak to the same person and none of them care about actually fixing anything. Couple that with a combined 17 minutes of hold time and I will never use Berkeley Locksmith again. read more

I couldn't be happier. We bought a piece of equipment at auction that didn't come with the ignition key. I searched Google for the closest locksmith and called Berkeley Locksmith this morning. They asked me to email a photo of the lock and I sent it right off. A short while later they called back saying they would send a guy ASAP. He was here in 20 minutes, removed a broken key from inside the lock (that I had no idea was even in there), made a new key from scratch and he was done and on his way in less than 10 minutes. We lost one of our keyless entry keys to our Chrysler 300. After calling 7 different locksmiths in the area, 3 of them referred me to Berkeley Locksmith. I called and asked how much it was to program and cut 2 keys for my Chrysler, he said 70.00 for both. After checking around for a cheaper rate as that was high, I ended up going to him on 10-9-13 at 4 p.m. When I walked in, he didn't even acknowledge my presence, finally after a few minutes a young man asked if I needed something, I explained that I had called in and talked to Willie and that I needed 2 keys cut and programmed. Three men ended up working on my keys to try to get them working (earlier in the day I had ONE of the keys cut at Ace Hardware so he only had to cut ONE key. After an hour of being there with not one word spoken to me as I waited in his shop, he again wouldn't even look at me and was explaining that he felt the keys I brought to him (even though brand new) were faulty and couldn't be programmed (explaining this to his employee that was working on my car, I was sitting to his left) So I asked them if they would wright something stating that he felt the keys were faulty on a letterhead (they did) and out of the kindness of my heart I asked if I owed them anything for their time and of course for cutting ONE of the keys. He stated 40.00! I thought that was a bit high for the service I got but reluctantly gave him my debit card. After the payment went through, Willie called the employee ringing me up and stated he had quoted me 70.00 on the phone and to charge me the 70.00!!! He immediately started charging my card for the additional 30.00 plus tax. So all in all, I paid full price of 70.00 for which I was quoted to cut and program TWO keys and walked away with paying him 70.00 for ONE cut key, both NOT programmed! Absolutely unfair and was taken advantage of. I feel it shouldn't of cost me anymore than 20.00 for their "shop rate" while trying to program the keys and a small fee for cutting the ONE key. WAS NOT TOLD OF THIS "POLICY" BEFORE HAND, HE HAD 3 OPPORTUNITY'S TO DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION ALLOWING ME TO DECIDE TO PROCEED OR MOVE ON!! read more

It was 8:47 pm tonight when I got home. My afternoon turn to crap after dealing with Berkeley Locksmith. After they didn't have my locks ready 3 hrs after they said they would, they offered to deliver them to one of my rentals in the time it would take to go pick my kids up from school. Needless to say, they didnt...I waited with two kids in a hot mobile home for an hour and a half before I called to complain. Talked to the owner Willie who assured me there must be some mistake bc his guy should have been there by now. His guy calls me, tells me he has been stuck in traffic the whole time. Btw, they are located about 3 miles from where I'm located...so I tell the guy he's got 15 mins before I leave bc he could have walked to me faster and I need to go, I then hang up. He gets there 10 mins later, rolls down his window, then YELLS at me and says, I'm doing you a f******* favor so you better watch it.....ended up calling another locksmith and now I'm finally home. Thank you Berkeley Locksmith for the craptastic service, keeping my locks, and for having to deal with the stupidity of your employee. Oh, and let's not forget, I also thank them for costing me $200.00 for new locks after hours on a Friday night plus another 4 hours of my life I will never get back. read more
