The man working in the front assured me there's nothing to be worried about and that he would have everything ready by the next morning at 8 AM. Amazing work, very early as promised, and with a smile on his face. I could not recommend this place more. To top it off, I came in in the morning at 8 AM, with my graduation stole, which had been folded by the embroidering company, panicking, a little more again, and he again assured me that there is nothing to be worried about and pressed it right there on the spot without a moments notice. This place is the real deal. The service is excellent, the prices are quite reasonable when you consider they focus on using non toxic chemicals that are good for their workers and also your clothes. The people that own it are an absolute delight to work with and they can turn your clothes around quickly when you need them to. I've used them for everything from shirt laundry, dry cleaning, alterations and repairs and they always deliver to a very high standard. The one time they didn't get it right first time it was no big deal and they turned it around immediately with no additional charge. They are also very good at managing expectations. I took in a jacket that had a bunch of stains in it and they said it might not come out, but they managed to get 95% of the stains out. The owners were so kind and helpful. We dropped a few suits and slacks off on a Tuesday to be dry cleaned and pressed for a wedding on a Saturday. They let me know it was possible. Ended up calling a day earlier to check in and guess what? They let me know it was already ready for me! I came in that day to pick it up and it was super affordable. I came her several times to have various items cleaned and they were great. Unfortunately, I took my wedding dress here and it was accidentally washed with a red blouse and got red splotches on it. This was of course devastating to me. The owner offered to replace my dress, which I declined since the dress worn the day of my wedding is irreplaceable. Instead, he compensated me for the price of my dress. He was genuinely apologetic and it was really just an unfortunate mistake. I imagine they'll take extra care when cleaning wedding dresses in the future, but I might consider finding a place that specializes in wedding dresses if that's the service you're looking for. read more

I purchased these dresses on Poshmark for $30 and $60, these are $200 dresses. There were so many stains that i didn't notice at first until Berkland started to point them out, and tape each spot. Have brought suits and several oversized items here for cleaning. They provide consistently good service and items are always ready on time. I only have an efficiency sized washer at home so cleaning blankets has been a challenge. Pricing on washing blankets seemed a bit high but I don't have any basis for comparison other than intuition so I'm not going to reduce my rating. Amazing customer service all done with a smile, is what you will find at Berkland Cleaners. I was in town for a graduation ceremony, and called Breakland first thing on a Friday morning. I asked if they provided one hour cleaning services, and they were incredibly accommodating, and asked that if I brought the items in by noon, that they would have them back to me by close of business Friday. Perfect! I was able to get there earlier than anticipated, and drop the items off. One was a graduation robe, and the other was a graduation stole. The lovely woman behind the counter, was very understanding and accommodating. When she saw that the two items were for graduation, she understood the rush, and was even more accommodating, and said that she would have them ready within a couple of hours. The customer service was impeccable, and I hate to say, better than the service that I receive from the two cleaners that I frequent close to home. The prices were super reasonable, at around $12 for two items for one day service. They don't have prices posted or listed anywhere, so it's quite possible that they charge less for regular cleaning. Regardless, The prices were pretty reasonable, especially for more unique items. Everything is done in house by this family owned cleaners. Street parking is available, and you truly won't find better service, and quality service anywhere like this. Previously, we took our dry cleaning to Rockridge Cleaners, next to Safeway, and were satisfied. Then I got a stain on a silk dress that had been made for me for my wedding 10 years ago. Rockridge was unable to remove the stain. I Googled "best dry cleaners" and someone wrote that Berkland Cleaners removed a stain from a silk garment that had been dry cleaned two years ago! I have been to different types of dry cleaners for professional clothing and the way the clothing feels after is almost always the same. But when I got my blazers back from Berkland, the texture of the clothing felt different than normal. It seems to have help smoothen out the fabric. I genuinely think this difference , which you can physically feel when wearing the clothing, is from their organic products. I never paid much attention to the types of products or chemicals that my dry cleaners used but their method and products are probably a lot better for preserving the quality and look of your clothing. On pricing it is actually comparable if not cheaper than similar places. In short, I would only use this place in Berkeley or east bay because of their products. read more

Not only Friendly and honest customer service, but their seamstress/ tailor is fabulously talented! I had a wedding in September to attend, and the first seamstress I took the dress to, made it unbearably tight. I couldn't sit down. In a typical situation, one could go back and have it corrected, however in this situation the previous seamstress thought she did a perfect job, was rude about it, and in full disclosure I thought she would sabotage the dress in some way. I couldn't risk this because the wedding was only a week and a half away, so I came to Berkland cleaners where they'd worked on some of my items before! I walked in hoping she could save my dress and loosen it a bit so that I could sit and enjoy the evening. I ended up crying because of stressed I was from my previous experience (again from a different seamstress) and she said that it wouldn't be a problem and that she could certainly turn it around in time for me to catch my flight. She kept the integrity of the dress and I was able to dance and have just a lovely time! Seriously wish I had taken a video or photo of the before situation!! This was more of an occasion dress, but she's also done more casual dresses of mine too! Hemmed pants, taken in pants. You name it! I did bring a suite jacket, but she recommended I go to a tailor who is more of an expert in suites for what I was specifically looking for. I also love the she is very attentive to your concerns and thinks about the cost!! I cannot remember my prices for any of these services but they have never been outrageous! I also overheard her chatting with another customer about a dress and said "there's a lot of work and I don't want you to over pay" which I thought was very sweet! Not sure what came of that interaction, but I know the seamstress would be willing to try something even if she doesn't think it will execute the way you want. For example I wanted her to take out some shoulder pads from a man's blazer, and she felt it wouldn't look like what my vision was, however I asked her if shed still be willing to try, and she said not a problem. She was right, haha, my vision did not come to fruition, so I'll have to go to a true mens suiting tailor for this specific project. But we tried! They also do a lovely dry cleaning job as well, gentle and typically remove the stains I come in with! Seriously could'n be happier with their services and will continue to travel to have my items taken care by them! read more

Absolutely love supporting this cleaners because they're actually the only (??) true green cleaning spot in the East Bay! They always are gentle and fantastic on my clothes: I've dropped off silk blazers and dresses, wool coats, delicate cashmere sweaters, etc I know it'll be in good hands. They're also very knowledgeable about proper clothing care and have been generous when I've asked for advice. I once had a horrid clothes moth infestation and the owners had great advice, which has helped continue to protect my clothes to this day. At that time their services also cleaned and rid my clothes of any remaining gross bugs. This review is long overdue: I brought my trench coat here to be dry cleaned because it was so highly rated. My trench coat was a little dirty on my belt and along the edges and ends on my jacket. When I got my jacket back the stains where gone but there was a bleach stain right next to my collar. What's crazy is the lady at the counter put stickers next to the spots that needed to be cleaned and I ended up with this discoloration on my coat. Now my trench coat I bought in another country that fit me perfectly is ruined and I have to buy a new trench coat that doesn't have a visible discoloration mark on it! read more
