In a 2025 Update I hope they have s room for me again as I'll need a place to stay for 8 or 9 days…read moreafter my Hip Replacement Surgery as they will be able to make sure my MRSA does not flair up. I stopped in the other Day and was happy to see some of the same staff that really helped me during my last stay review below. I had left a GOOGLE review but thought they would appreciate this one. I was embarrassed a bit as I remembered one of my favorite staffers an OT's name as she really helped me relearn how to walk. I forgot the name of a lady that helped me every day face palm . I don't think she recognized me when I said hello , as she was nice it is OK it has been well over a year . I think I also recognized the lady at the desk but I don't remember her name being Jay lol on her tag. I dropped off some fun 3d trinkets and Chocolate for the staff (aha I trust she shared lol it is OK it was squirreled away , seriously the worlds best chocolate bar flown in from Dubai) as I was originally a scheduled for Surgery on the 13th to wind up there the 14th, then it was rescheduled and I figured I may need bribes lol and I'll be on my best behavior I promise. At any rate I would have spent more time but everyone was busy managing and helping everyone. I did get stuck temporarily in the elevator with a friendly nurse , we both thought is the elevator moving , happily the door opened and wound up singing in a stairwell to laughter from somewhere , a song for Sloans, great acoustics. Oh there are plenty of elevators as well , I'm laughing as I was probably pranked :) If I go back I'll definitely bring an acoustic guitar as the place is missing music. Inside joke I'm a legend in my own mind and the bingo was fun as well but their are Bingo sharks in there. I was recently published coauthored Inside NeXT available on eBay so yes I'll continue to write , so more entertaining than one would expect , Time Traveling an adventure from a guy immobilized in a bed surviving MRSA saved by angels, I had to relearn how to walk , crazy stuff oh my happens when portals open up at sloans , fiction and non fiction why be boring, , some all ages , some you find in the overly romantic book clubs meets cosmo lol some kept secret squirrel aha . It is/was always a fun mix of folks of all ages , staff is great some true gem personalities , yes names changed . I don't know if a handlebar mustache is a requirement with an old timey hat , ha but that would be kind of funny. Including the chef hat making the pasta. ## Original review I have been here 6 weeks and have made friends with a lot of the staff. They have been friendly , responsive and very helpful . I was thankful for them helping me learn to walk again and it has been a 2 1/2 month journey as I almost died from sepsis. I'm finally going home tomorrow. . The PT and OT staff are amazing . The food depends on the chef lol doesn't it always as it can be fantastic or not so much an alternative there is a great cafe in the lobby that makes an awesome burger $4.50 add fries 1.50 :) yes I would recommend Sloans Lake Rehabilitation center, incredible view of Downtown Denver and or the mountains and lake . My parents in their 80's found it convenient for practically daily visits as well. It is also kept clean and the staff in previous ratings no longer work here and management is not afraid to justly make personnel changes when justified . Overall everyone is on top of it and I have enjoyed my comfortable stay here. Best regards Rob Blessin President BHI

Staff (aides) had attitudes and made you feel like it was a bother to be called. My husband would be helped to the bathroom, and then left on the toilet alone, sometimes as long as 45 minutes. The food was awful. The case manager seemed vindictive if you spoke up. I don't recommend this place, but hate to say too much, because my husband may have to go back there some time.

Large and spacious newly remodeled. The very first detail I noticed was instead of sacrificing personal privacy by hoarding as many twin sized beds into every available space like military barracks as so many others do, this Denver power couple chose instead to place quality of living over quantity of clients. From the moment I contacted Kelly, I was not only welcomed with open arms but he personally trekked to a completely different city to pick me up leaving me with an immediate sense of belonging. Bre and Kelly have created a space that truly promotes recovery and growth. First and foremost, the safety measures implemented at the sober living home I was assigned were quite impressive exceeding all expectation. The three story "city mansion" was equipped with top-notch security systems, ensuring that residents felt secure and protected at all times. This aspect was crucial in my recovery journey, as it allowed me to focus on my sobriety without any distractions or concerns. Moreover, the cleanliness of the home was impeccable. After days spent touring many other unsanitary, run down and overcrowded spaces I was in absolute awe if Bre and Kelly's unique ability to maintain a spotless living environment while maintaining tranquil serenity, which greatly contributed to the overall comfort and well-being of all residents. The attention to detail in keeping the common areas and individual rooms tidy was truly outstanding and unexpected after being convinced I was going to be living in filth if I wanted healing time in a communal sober living environment. What sets Bre and Kelly apart is their unwavering support and dedication to helping residents on their individual sober journeys. They were ALWAYS available to lend a listening ear, offer guidance, and provide resources for personal growth. Their compassion and understanding created a nurturing atmosphere that fostered a strong sense of community among the residents making it simple to make new friends in a brand new city I had just arrived to. In addition to their unmatched professionalism, Bre and Kelly demonstrated a genuine care for each individual's well-being. Their commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment was evident in every interaction. Whether it was organizing group activities, facilitating group discussions, or simply checking in on residents, their efforts went above and beyond expectations. Bre and Kelly Mahana have truly created a haven for individuals seeking a safe and sober living space. I genuinely feel like they made me a part of their family and for many of us on that journey family is a daunting topic to entertain. Their dedication, compassion, and attention to detail make their sober living home a standout choice for anyone in need of support on their recovery journey. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have been part of their community and would highly recommend any of their conveniently located homes to anyone seeking a clean, safe, and supportive environment for their sobriety. I'd like to close with a Public Service Announcement: KELLY MAY BE A PITPUL ON THE OUTSIDE BUT HES A SQUISHY LITTLE TEDDYBEAR ON THE INSIDE THAT CARES FOR EVERY SINGLE MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY (addicts and normie) AND SHOWS THAT WITH EVERY DECISION HE MAKES.

The staff care about…read morethe well-being of their patients and several of the staff members are long time employees. We have 2 children at the facility that are suffering from a terrible neurological disease. They will never recover, and Rowan Community is their home. The staff treat them as such and take care of them like they are their own. You can't put a price tag or a star rating on that. If something were to happen to my wife or myself, we know that they would be taking care of. With that said, it is an older building and has a lot of the issues that come with an older building. They unfortunately are dealing with staff shortages much like every other business these days, but they are doing the best they can. Everyone pitches in to help. It is all hands-on deck when it comes to meal service, and they do the best they can. We are very involved with the care of our kids and you will find my wife there at least 3 times a week. Unfortunately, several of the residents have been forgotten by their family members and they expect the staff to just "handle" their needs. If you are looking for a state-of-the-art facility, Rowan probably isn't that. If you are looking for people who care, Rowan is the place.

My father was brought to Rowan after a back surgery for rehab, because it was affiliated with the VA. They seemed to be highly rated but this is the biggest nightmare of a care facility I've ever experienced in my life. This is the hell you send your loved ones to when they are dying! Before I even got there, my dad was texting us non-stop to come save him. He did not get breakfast because his dinner the night before was practically inedible. He begged us to bring him outside food. Upon walking in you are immediately hit with a smell of a mixture of morgue and mold-riddled cafe. Then you see the paint, decor, and bedding is all from the 1970s and 1980s. The beds spring boards and the mattresses are foam, not memory foam, regular camping mat foam. The beds at the hospital were more comfortable. The staff seemed mostly nice, but the Director of Nursing seemed to find us audacious for saying that the beds were not adequate. Dad was complaining of pain three times more in these beds than he did at the hospital before his surgery. I asked her how old the beds were, and she answered with "They are perfectly functional! What's wrong with them?!" That's not what I asked. The more I sat with my dad, the more triggered I got by the sounds and smells. It sounds like an insane asylum. Doors being slammed every 30 seconds, equipment knocking and slamming, staff yelling at each other across the halls, patients melting down, etc. There is no AC in the individual rooms. The PT center can only handle one patient at a time, and with as many patients as they had, I'm not sure how often they could have gotten around to my dad's care. As I walked to different places in the facility I was hit with what smells like feces and rotten menstrual pads. Then I had to get on the floor because my dad dropped his hearing aid battery and the floor was sticky. There were no chairs for visitors or patients to sit on. We sat on the unoccupied bed in the room and our backs started hurting as well.

Man, I fly up and down the stairs right now thanks to the technique learned. Shhh, don't tell my therapist, but I do now take two steps at a time going down the stairs. From the medical staff to the therapists, the team was A+++. There seems to be a culture of service at the company that carries through everyone. I'm missing all of these people asking me how everything is going and if I need anything at home. I may even have to admit I enjoyed the 7:00 am therapy sessions (I'm not a morning person). Only observation was that as a diabetic the food was a tiny bit challenging. The team however was always ready to replace a dish if needed.
